To think peeing in the shower is fine?

Dh thinks it's disgusting. I think it's fine.

The warm water makes me need a wee and I'm not going to get out, soak the floor, dry off and all that.

It's environmentally friendly as less toilet flushing

The water washes the wee away and it's only wee

I thought everyone did it occasionally.

Of course, you aren't hosing down the cubicle! I would say, its not for spectators though, bathroom stuff is generally private.

greathat · 18/08/2018 15:26

Wee is sterile so not germs. As long as it's all washed away I don't see the issue

OpiningGambit · 18/08/2018 15:32

If you don't pee in the shower, how can you practice using a She-Wee? That takes work!

bellsbuss · 18/08/2018 15:35

Have only ever done it the first few days after giving birth when having a wee stings like hell and the water eases it

OpiningGambit · 18/08/2018 15:42

I would never wear a tampon to shower as it would get wet when you cleaned yourself and then presumably drip whilst you were trying to dry. Personally I would have a tampon handy and last thing give myself a good douche and insert clean tampon before drying myself.

@vdbfamily never douche! It's not something you should be doing unless specofically told to by a real doctor.

Also your tampon, properly inserted, won't get wet in the shower or drip! You can wear them swimming!

EyeDrops · 18/08/2018 16:08

My automatic feeling is "eww", but I don't know why - I can see that it's no worse than period blood. That said, I don't - haven't ever, have never needed to, it's ingrained habit to use the loo before I shower so I'd never thought of it as a thing people do!

I sometimes wee in the bath though, not intentionally - I can't help it, sitting in warm water it just involuntarily happens.

To the person who asked how you shower without tampons - I have clean knickers with fresh sanitary towel in ready by the loo, and sit down on it immediately after getting out so it's very rare any gets on the towel/floor.

KatieKittens · 18/08/2018 17:17

For those who say they have noticed a smell - surely something must have gone wrong with regards cleaning/drainage/aim.

I don’t set out to wee in the shower, but if I happen to need then I go! It’s straight down the plug and washed away.

KatieKittens · 18/08/2018 17:25

I don’t wear a tampon in the shower either- don’t like the idea of a wet ‘tail’ and prefer to put in a fresh one when finished.

I only tend to get blood on a towel occasionally, and I just put it on a hot wash with other towels.

Charolais · 18/08/2018 22:05

Does DH stick it in his mouth every night though?

You’re the sort of person I’d like to hangout with... lol

Fluffyears · 18/08/2018 23:17

I never wear tampons (tilted uterus they never sit correctly and hurt) I have heavy periods as well but I wash my fanjo using the shower head to make sure all the blood is washed away. I am one of those people whose flow stops in water and it takes a good 10 minutes of being out of the shower/bath before I bleed again. I do have massive clots that go down the drain. What I do in case I do bleed is grab a big wodge ofnloonrool and stuff it between my legs (no thigh hap makes it stay in place) whilst I dry my legs. I then put on pants and pad straight away whereas I normally wander around with no scants on till I dry. We all find our own methods. I have vomited in the shower when I was recovering from norovirus but obviously not fully recovered.

Furrycushion · 18/08/2018 23:30

I still don't understand why peeing in the shower is revolting? It get diluted & washed away immediately & is sterile when it comes out. Saves water & loo roll too. Win win

buttfacedmiscreant · 18/08/2018 23:55

We have a handheld shower and so I just use that to rinse the walls down, whether or not I've peed. Soap etc can get on the walls so they get a rinse and a wipe down anyway.

LindseyKola · 19/08/2018 08:57

Urine isn’t sterile. That’s a myth.

meadowmeow · 19/08/2018 09:26

How the hell would a tampon get wet while you shower Confused

vdbfamily · 19/08/2018 09:47

Meadow...because I have a hand held shower and use it to ensure my fanny is nice and clean. Now having to rethink my technique having researched!! And yes,in reference to previous poster who said they swim in a tampon, so have I but would always change it after swimming, possibly because string was wet but IME the whole thing was usually sodden.

Thishatisnotmine · 19/08/2018 09:52

I have wee'd in the shower a handful of times in my life. After having dd2 I can't - just won't come out. No great loss but very odd!

OftenHangry · 19/08/2018 09:54

It's fine. It's actually being encouraged as a part of a save water movement.
You wash after and obviously with that you wash up the bathtub or shower cubicle. Done.

OftenHangry · 19/08/2018 09:56

Pee is not sterile though... It is a myth.

Picklesandpies · 19/08/2018 10:54

I would not be encouraging my child to do this by saying it's fine. I think it's totally grim and unnecessary. You're an adult - can you not hold it in for a few more minutes until you're out of the shower? I think that's what most people do? If the shower is over the bath I also think it's pretty grim to expect people to use the bath afterwards too. Yuck.

Abra1de · 19/08/2018 10:56

I have a small shit bucket in the shower I use then I just plop it in the wheelie bin when it gets full!

Shock
RoseWhiteTips · 19/08/2018 10:58

Sterile? Seems not.🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂

NutElla5x · 19/08/2018 11:10

I've never done it-I'm not sure if I could physically release anywhere but the loo to be honest-but after reading some of the replies I think I might give it a go,it seems sort of logical and sounds like it might be fun Grin

LindseyKola · 19/08/2018 11:13

I’m surprised at how many people are bothered about their tampon string getting wet! When you go for a wee do you carefully hold it to one side or try tuck it somewhere so no urine splashes onto it?

I assume people mean the string anyway, I don’t see how you could get the actual tampon wet in the shower unless you’re actually forcing the stream inside yourself (which is basically douching and a very bad idea medically, and would require a bizarrely wide vaginal opening)

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 19/08/2018 11:15

I've never even though of doing a wee in the shower.

UpstartCrow · 19/08/2018 11:15

I don't overthink it.
