She started on a massive stretch about me claiming PIP to "piss it up the wall", I obviously need the disposible income, etc, etc. It was really bitchy!

She's made catty comments in the past, but tbh I thought that was down to me- I have a weird sense of humor, and take the piss out of myself all the time. But never like this.

She said that, if I was independant enough to go out alone (I'll be meeting a friend, but eill be making my own way) I shouldn't be claiming Personal INDEPENDANCE Payment, and that "I'm what's wrong with the government atm!

I sent her a REALLY sarky text in reply, but it's made me doubt myself!

Good grief! Poor you. Your friend has not understood the complexities of your disability and how it affects your life and was especially rude to have said what she did. No one gets awarded PIP without thoroughly deserving it/needing it. Rise above her comments and enjoy your night out. You are not in the wrong at all but it is extremely difficult, in my experience, for people to fully understand what life with a disability is like and why you might need help in a financial form.

Hollow she doesn't seem to grasp that it's not hard to get out of a cab, head to where the noise is coming from on an otherwise deserted country lane, and- well, stand there looking stupid until my friend calls me over, but them's the breaks! 😁

See, I CAN be a cunt. I'm aware of it. The best example (the one DH delights in telling everyone, to my shame) was the midwife who tried to tell me I wasn't trying hard enough to bf dd, 24 hours after she was born. (Emcs, GA, and my brain was leaking from my spine apparantly, so I wasn't exactly feeling shit-hot at that moment). She said "I had a c section too, and I've breastfed both of mine".
