Hairless foofs

Ginismyfriendx · 06/07/2018 01:02

So can't sleep and watching naked attraction (please do judge me, I deserve it)
Are completely bare foofs a thing now? Having had a nasty experience of an ingrown hair from shaving bikini line (which required anti-biotics) why go through that? Nevermind the faff. Who want's an evening shadow on their lady bits?
All for a bit of pruning, but uprooting?

*scarred

PuddlesOfBud · 06/07/2018 09:55

and therefore less prone to yeast infections and c) I think it's good that guys get a look at some actual real life vulvas that aren't hidden or "dressed"

What a bizzare idea. "Real life vulvas" are 'dressed' in pubic hair. What point are you trying to make? do men need to see them undressed? Do you think pornifying the fanny is somehow teaching men about women's bodies? or Do you just think they should be able to have sex that looks as much like porn as possible?

Skyejuly · 06/07/2018 09:55

With regard to DDs. Mine would have seen it both ways when changing for swimming etc. Like I said I don't shave regular so sometimes it's a busy then I shave the lot off! My girls know that hair is a standard but what you do with it is up to the individual. No big deal.

80sMum · 06/07/2018 09:55

Well, thank goodness that it wasn't fashionable in the '70s and '80s! I can't imagine the pain of waxing "down there" - and the itchiness of the regrowth!

I'm so glad that at my age all I need do is a quick trim!

JJS888 · 06/07/2018 09:56

Was just checking you had been on to the play the paedo card. Quick of the mark today. I swear some women just sit at their computer waiting to wheel that one out. Their obsession makes me more uneasy than the fannys

RedPony1 · 06/07/2018 09:57

I've done it all my adult life, i don't get itchy regrowth and it's no hassle. Absolutely no different to shaving legs or armpits!

tabulahrasa · 06/07/2018 09:58

"If you don't remove it what do you do when you go on holiday? Take the spiders along for the ride?"

I plait it of course...

I pretty much leave mine, I have shaved it... but, I find I’m sweatier, it makes no difference at all to sex and it’s bloody itchy when it starts to grow in.

I can’t see the point, so I just leave it alone.

Beamur · 06/07/2018 10:00

I get my bikini line waxed. It really hurts and I get ingrowing hairs. I've stopped waxing my legs and underarms for the same reason. There is no way on earth I'd have a Hollywood unless my life depended on it.
Personally, I don't like the naked look and am not prepared to consider any kind of pain or discomfort to achieve it.

PussGirl · 06/07/2018 10:01

My first boyfriend told me I looked like I had a cat sitting on my lap Blush - I was so offended - with 35years' hindsight I think it's hilarious Grin

I did trim after that though! Length & area.

STBXH got majorly into porn & insisted I shaved it all, so I did. It was okay but I never really liked the look of it.

When I decided to leave him I let it grow a bit.

New partner likes pubes, so I've grown them a bit more. Still keeping length & area under control, but I no longer grow the luxuriant catlike giant bush of my youth Grin

HerFemaleness · 06/07/2018 10:01

“If you don’t remove you pubic hair you are dirty, smelly, unhygienic, covered in urine and menstrual blood, lazy and have let yourself go”

Inorite! Maybe they think because we have a bush that we have taken to living in the bush. I am quite civilised apart from insisting on harbouring a splendid crop of pubes down my pants. I live in a house with a shower and indoor loo and everything.

As an aside, In weather like this I sweat and the hair (on my head) gets sweaty, greasy and yucky very quickly. I wash it, I don't blinkin' well shave it off.

Myotherusernameisbest · 06/07/2018 10:05

I’m just over 40 and no one did this when I was younger. We all had sex and somehow managed! I don’t tell unclean or dirty. I slightly shave the hairs at the side so they don’t poke out my bikini.

Pubic hair being “gross” is utterly depressing and the porn culture has mainstreamed this. I feel so sorry for girls growing up through this crap that we never had

This

Sallystyle · 06/07/2018 10:09

It is ridiculous to claim that shavers/waxers have never made any rude comments.

I don't know how anyone can post that with a straight face. We have been called gross, told we must smell and so on many times.

The insults go both ways. I don't touch mine and don't care what anyone else does with theirs. When I go on holiday people might see a few stay pubes, if they don't like it that is their issue.

MiniTheMinx · 06/07/2018 10:10

PussGirl, cat in your lap Grin

If only, my DP would love that, alas years of whipping it all off and age.....oh well. I didn't realise how lucky I was!

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2018 10:12

“I always wondered how long it would actually grow if we didn't trim or remove it? Knee length? Ankles?”

Yes. Before the early 80s, women had to plait their pubic hair and touch it into a special pouch in their knickers to avoid tripping over it.......

I do so hope you’re not serious.......

Clandestino · 06/07/2018 10:15

@yearofthewoman porn? That's complete bollocks.
It's been here for ages, at least since the late 80s and early 90s and Baywatch when they were running around veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery slowly in those high cut red swimsuits.

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2018 10:16

“40 years later those women’s daughters and grand daughters are embarrassed to be seen by a midwife with hair......

None of my midwives were bald and I wasn’t embarrassed in the slightest.“

As I pressed send I realized that somebody would make that smart arse remark rather than address the interesting and quite serious point I made.

Mari50 · 06/07/2018 10:19

When my dd (9) saw my recent Brazilian she was horrified and asked what I had done to myself.
Which was funny because I was thinking along the same lines....

TwoSweetenersImBitterEnough · 06/07/2018 10:22

I really tried to take this thread seriously but I completely lost it at 'stop fanny-watching' GrinGrinGrinGrin

IME it's the people who choose to grow their hair (anywhere - pubes/armpit/legs etc) who like to make a massive deal out of people who wax or shave. I really don't care what other people do with their bodies. A lot of it isn't because people are pressured but rather because it is their choice for their body which they feel most comfortable with. E.g I do feel cleaner when fully waxed. I work out and have very heavy periods. I enjoy sex better when fully waxed. And I know other people feel cleaner with public hair and enjoy sex better with public hair and that is absolutely fine. Our bodies are different and I don't expect anyone to be exactly like me and feel exactly they way I do about myself because we are not the same people with the same bodies.

I have met people who always remove hair, people who never have and never will remove hair, and people who do it once in a while. All are entitled to their own choice and I really don't want to spend my time debating whether or not their decision is correct.

EdmundCleverClogs · 06/07/2018 10:24

And I knew you’d reply in your usual humourless manner. Do lighten up, you don’t always have to be on the defensive Bertrand Hmm. As for ‘serious point’, it’s just body hair. It really doesn’t matter what anyone chooses to do with their own, and in real life most people don’t care. As always with MN, we’re only seeing from the two very opposite ends of the debate, rather than the average opinion. Same old posters coming out with the same old lines.

reup · 06/07/2018 10:24

I over heard a group of 6th formers discussing another girls pubic hair. It was so depressing that they were all saying how disgusting it was that she didn’t wax everything.

Was that necessary Edmund? Out of every post on here you decide to attack Bertrand’s, with a fairly personal attack at that.

EdmundCleverClogs · 06/07/2018 10:32

SoddingUnicorns how is it a personal attack? If Bertrand wants to take over another of these threads about how very right she is, fine. However perhaps even she can once in a while lighten up a bit when they’ve made a silly mistake. My initial reply was pulling a leg, I forgot the poster I was speaking to can’t take any sort of mocking. I apologise if they’re offended by that.

EstrellaDamn · 06/07/2018 10:32

You know, I feel guilty sometimes because my 6 year old daughter wears glasses, and I choose to wear contact lenses almost every day instead of wearing my own glasses.

It's just occurred to me it's a similar thing with pubic hair. What am I supposed to tell her when she hits puberty if I get mine waxed?

  • Oh it's totally normal and natural.
  • Where's yours then Mum?
  • Oh, I have it all covered in boiling wax and ripped from my flesh by a stranger.
Wildernessie · 06/07/2018 10:34

Mine is more akin to 70's porn-its an afro-crazy scene down thereGringave up the vanicure years ago.
