Hairless foofs

Ginismyfriendx · 06/07/2018 01:02

So can't sleep and watching naked attraction (please do judge me, I deserve it)
Are completely bare foofs a thing now? Having had a nasty experience of an ingrown hair from shaving bikini line (which required anti-biotics) why go through that? Nevermind the faff. Who want's an evening shadow on their lady bits?
All for a bit of pruning, but uprooting?

Anyway. About the fact that women in the 70s campaigned against routine shaving in labour wards.......

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 10:46

Oh, and you’re not as half as interesting as you think you are Bert. As always, you just barge into a thread with your ‘I’m right, everyone else is wrong’ attitude.

You honestly can’t see how that’s a personal attack?

If you don’t like Bertrand’s posting style fair enough, but I find it very interesting that you’ll happily attack her but not the comments calling women dirty, smelly, unhygienic and weird.

Feels pretty personal to me.

worstmovieever · 06/07/2018 10:46

Well ever since Chris Pratt said he prefers a woman with hair down there who am I to disappoint chucks razor away...then remembers I've still got to shave my legs and pits...retrieves razor Grin

PussGirl · 06/07/2018 10:48

Regarding how long pubes grow, it varies hugely, just like head hair.

And I agree with the PP who mentioned the horror of men's shaving their pubes - looks like something on a butcher's slab - just repulsive!

RiverTam · 06/07/2018 10:49

It's not just body hair, though, is it? In the past, yes, but now all I can see is that it's yet another thing that women (and more importantly, girls) are expected to do in order to fit in with a male-driven view of the world. I actually feel really sad for DD that she will feel the pressure to remove her public hair. If she's anything like me & DH she's have a lot of very dark hair which will be an utter hassle to deal with (I get ingrowing leg and underarm hair, FFS).

Girls' self esteem and mental health is not great at the mo. For me, that is down to the toxic, misogynistic, violent pornified world that they grow up in. And this is part of that.

So no, not just pubic hair.

EdmundCleverClogs · 06/07/2018 10:49

You honestly can’t see how that’s a personal attack?

No, it’s an opinion. Bertrand described their own post as ‘interesting’ and I disagreed. However, if you feel it’s a personal attack, please feel free to report my comment.

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 10:51

Fair enough, I’ve said my piece.

Confusedbeetle · 06/07/2018 10:52

Pubic hair protects a vulnerable area and should be left alone. Stipping it off can bring problems. More importantly, why would anyone want their genitals to look prepubescent? In my mind, there is something very wrong in this, particularly when men prefer this look. This is not healthy physicaly or psychologically. It is not at all the same as shaving armpits or legs, it is sexual

Lokissister · 06/07/2018 10:55

I remove my pubic hair. Have done since I was a young teen. Not because I was made to or because of porn, but because I was a dancer and gymnast and it felt more comfortable. It’s just a habit now but I always feel unclean when the regrowth gets a bit long

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2018 11:01

It’s pretty bizarre, frankly, not to be interested in an objective measure of how women’s perception of pubic hair removal has changed in living memory whoever posts about it. But hey ho.

Thank you, SoddingUnicorn.

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 11:03

No problem Bertrand

It’s not bizarre at all. Fashion changes. What we do to our bodies changes. This is no different.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 06/07/2018 11:04

For me, it's a matter of personal taste. I first shaved down there just after I had ds1 - the midwife had shaved me before sewing up the episiotomy she'd done, and I just liked the way it felt, so I started doing it too.

I do feel cleaner when I am shaven - though I know intellectually that this has its basis in the fact that, as a teenager, I was only allowed two baths a week, and no antiperspirant/deodorant - so felt thoroughly grubby and minging all over, not just my fanjo - but that experience has left me with a fear of unclean body hair on myself - I know it is irrational, but in my mind, it is all tied up with the bullying I suffered as at secondary school, and the low self esteem I have as a result.

However, since I think everyone else on the planet is a better, nicer, lovelier person than me, this attitude includes whatever their decision on body hair is - full bush or full wax-off or anything in between - whatever you decide, you are lovely!

hipposarerad · 06/07/2018 11:05

I might do the occasional short back and sides, but even that is risky for me - my pubes just love growing back inwardly causing much pain and distress. If I were to be asked my opinion I'd say I'm not a fan of the bald look, I find it unattractive (not pre pubescent though, an adult is not like a child, hair or no), but I don't voice my opinion because other people's style choices aren't my business.

I don't give a shit whether other people shave, wax, epilate or whatever but I do very much resent the implication that non hair removers are somehow unhygienic and gross, and I feel sad that this "ewww hair" attitude is pervasive - I wonder how many women who say "it's my choice, innit?" really mean "my boyfriend/friends reckon it's rank and so I feel like I have no choice".

Why does anyone care?

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 11:06

That’s a fair point. It’s also a fair point that a great deal of what is pitched as “women’s fashion” is, in fact, dictated by men. So I think to mention that is reasonable.

Again, I’m all for personal choice. I honestly couldn’t care less what someone else does with their pubic hair, and whatever another woman chooses to do is up to her. Equally what I do or don’t do with mine is up to me.

SoupDragon · 06/07/2018 11:08

Thinking about “fashion” we’ve come full circle from bustles to butt implants.

BertrandRussell · 06/07/2018 11:09

“It’s not bizarre at all. Fashion changes. What we do to our bodies changes. This is no different.”

I think it is different, actually. If it was just fashion, people would say that. Like long or short head hair or nails. It’s quite unusual for anyone to say that they do it just because they like it, or they find it sexy. There is almost always something about cleanliness there as well.

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 11:10

How do you sit down comfortably with butt implants?

Not a judgement, just a random question that occurred to me. Surely it’s not comfortable?

EdmundCleverClogs · 06/07/2018 11:11

Oh I’m sure it was very interesting, the first time you said it.

I find it far more interesting that a relatively new OP has a not come across waxing as a trend, yet apparently has Botox and lip filler treatments. You’d think anyone who partakes in those extensive treatments would be more aware of other body modification options currently available/trending.

Oldagepensioner · 06/07/2018 11:11

I think Bert is far more interesting than clevercloggs

EdmundCleverClogs · 06/07/2018 11:14

Oldagepensioner okie dokie Smile.

PussGirl · 06/07/2018 11:19

Sodding - no idea but it might be really comfy, like having a permanent cushion Grin

SoddingUnicorns · 06/07/2018 11:20

@PussGirl I wondered if it would be like sitting on a waterbed! I’ve got plenty padding on my arse already Grin

Kewcumber · 06/07/2018 11:21

I'm a child of the 70's and am amazed at how our society have to a huge extent bought into shaved pubes. How public hair is now quite commonly seen as gross, unhygenic etc. When I was a teen I knew not one woman who shaved her pubes - were we all gross and unhygenic and not one man I ever slept with made any comment.

It's a fashion , we have been conditioned to believe. I just wish more people even whilst excercising their right to do whatever the hell they like with their body acknowledged this because until we all realise how much social conditioning influences us then I'm afraid women are fucked in so many ways.

And the pre-pubescent comments? Well lets be honest in some younger women, it really is all that distinguishes you from a 12 year old. At my advanced age however the comparison tends to be made with 85 year old women who are often also very nearly hairless and suddenly pubic hair doesn't seem so gross anymore!

MyBreadIsEggy · 06/07/2018 11:25

I totally understand that the idea of fully hairless foofs has come from porn - if there’s no hair there, the camera can see everything Confused
But that isn’t the reason I choose to remove everything. I’ve been a full Hollywood waxed since I was about 17. I just don’t like the feeling of having pubes.
DH isn’t bothered either way - he would probably rather me save the money I spend on waxing! But I prefer to do it, so I do. Absolutely no ulterior motive behind it
