Hairless foofs

Ginismyfriendx · 06/07/2018 01:02

So can't sleep and watching naked attraction (please do judge me, I deserve it)
Are completely bare foofs a thing now? Having had a nasty experience of an ingrown hair from shaving bikini line (which required anti-biotics) why go through that? Nevermind the faff. Who want's an evening shadow on their lady bits?
All for a bit of pruning, but uprooting?

Torn an ex of mine (a redhead) had a hairy chest and back It didnt bother me one iota. I liked him (loved him actually) and we were really into each other ................there was incredible sexual chemistry . I also grew up associating pubic hair with being grown up. Im 45.

I do know what you mean though I was quite glad when perms went out i had the hair (on my head) permed in the late 80s I just have it coloured now.

OMG just stumbled across this thread. I’m a single parent. Have been for 4 years. I met me ex 20 years ago almost so the dating game has been a while. I was flicking tv and saw that naked attraction programme and did wonder. I’m not a waxer and only shave for bikini use which isn’t very often. I’m not back in the daring game yet but this worries me now about expectations if and when I do eventually start dating again. I’m also slightly worried about being judged at my next smear test!! Think that’s due at the end of summer.

HelenaDove · 08/07/2018 23:49

celtic dont let it stop you going for your smear.

celticprincess · 08/07/2018 23:55

Oh no it won’t stop me going for the smear. I’ll be stressing over whether to shave or not first though. God knows what the midwives were thinking when I have birth both times - and the whole flock of people who came to have a look. Oh and the male student doctor who watched my GP carry out a smear test at my 6 week post natal check! And all the midwives who came to check my stitches after both births (both epiesiotomies).

I think that all of you that are saying removing pubic hair is a recent thing have a very westerncentric view of the world and form of feminism.
There are plenty of cultures around the world in which hair removal is the norm for men and woman. In Islam for example it is required for men and woman to remove under arm and pubic hair and Islam is the second biggest religion in the world so there's many people who do it for reasons unrelated to porn.

The other thing we have seen in the UK in the past 40 years is the increase of multiculturalism and relationships between people of different cultures. It is likely that norms from one culture have spread to others. Because trust me in the 80s there were plenty of women removing their pubic hair, just maybe not the ones in Your social circles. There were also mobile beauticians that provided these services.

Feelthethunder · 09/07/2018 00:07

I personally wouldn’t wanna have a bush.

I use an epilator on my bits, it hurts but it’s worth it. (:

Jasperoonicle · 09/07/2018 00:11

Veet and Sudocreme are my go-to products. I veet the lot off - have been doing this for about 17ish years - and then apply a liberal amount of sudocreme to stop any rash or itch or redness. Could not cope with pubic hair and I like a man to be nice and neat down south too - preferably bald but definitely tidy would work too.

@Penguin34 can I ask a question..? I used to get a Brazilian from one salon pretty regularly and I kept my thong on, just moving aside as needed. Figured this was normal procedure. Then while travelling I went to a new salon and she ordered pants off! I was a bit surprised but was OK with it, I mean she didn't strike me as a creep or anything..
What's the norm? Do you usually get women to take them off for a Hollywood or just pull aside to preserve what's left of their modesty?

LanguidLobster · 09/07/2018 10:53

I misread the title as hairless hoofs and felt mildly intrigued.

No I don't bother about mine and don't care.

@Hiphopfrog

With all the Beautician's I know it's the norm to do with no knickers, honestly vaginas are like elbows to us and we probably wouldn't notice if you walked in naked from the waste down!

Depends where the beautician trained and what they find quickest and easiest because you want a quick thorough wax!

They don't teach intimate Waxing in your normal nvq or itec beauty therapy course so you need to do a separate course.
Firstly I did a generic intimate waxing course and they teach using a paper thong. A year or so later I refrained with lycon and they teach knickers off.

I find it much much easier and quicker with no knicks, I want your consult, undressed, waxed, aftercare, dressed, rebooked, paid and out the door within the 30 min slot.
I also book back to back so I want the room ready for the next client by the end of that 30 min (maybe time for a drink as well)

Also those paper things hide nothing, they are pushed out the way so you might as well be naked or they get in my way, I want to get all the hairs from everywhere including inside the labia and bum, much easier without.

I would think it's more awkward to keep asking you to move your knickers this way or that than for you to just lie back and chat to me while I get on with it.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WITH INTIMATE WAXING IS YOUR THERAPIST DOES NOT DOUBLE DIP AND WEARS GLOVES .

Hope this helps xx

bananafish81 · 09/07/2018 11:49

@Hiphopfrog my experience at multiple salons

  • high bikini is pants on but pulled to the side
  • Brazilian or Hollywood is pants off completely

High bikini leaves the undercarriage alone so pulling to the side will be fine

Brazilian (everything off underneath and some left on the pubic area - often a 'landing strip') or Hollywood (everything off everywhere) needs to be knickers off

Usually you'd be asked to put your feet together and knees out to the sides like a frog for most of it - the labia can be waxed like this. But to get the perineum and bumbeard waxed that involves usually hugging knees to the chest to give the therapist full access to the area in question

So you definitely are on show - but they really have seen it all before! All they care about is making sure they do a professional job

Penguin34 · 09/07/2018 12:03

If anyone comes into my salon for a wax this is how it's going to go down..

Arrive, fill out consultation and gdpr form with a glass of water.
I'll show you to my room, tell you to lie under the towel with no knickers and use the wipes if you'd like (I want you to!) and leave while you get ready.
When I come back I'll ask you put your feet together and knees to the sides like a frog.
I'll pop on some gloves, cleanse the area, wax, pop some Ingrow x spray on, soothing cream (I never double dip)
Then I'll stay 'bring your knees together and give them a hug so it pushes your bottom out' then I'll repeat the same as above (usually only 2 bits of wax so only a minute)
If you've got hairy bum cheeks I'll do that too.
Then I'll get you to pop your legs down and give you your after care.
I'll leave you to get dressed, come back, payment and rebook.
You leave and I'll turn the room around ready for the next client within 39 mins.

I don't get you to hold anything or move and we chat the whole time.
Usually the wax is done within 15 min or less.

I always use hot wax (lycon) it hardly hurts and afterwards it doesn't hurt at all.

X

Penguin34 · 09/07/2018 12:04

Sorry that was meant to say within 30 mins not 39

Penguin34 · 09/07/2018 12:06

We don't see vaginas, we see directions of hair growth and just want to get all the hairs.
You are probably the 5th one that day

Leapfrog44 · 09/07/2018 12:19

@Penguin34 @bananafish81 Great to know thank you!

Each to their own but personally I feel the completely bare look is too reminiscent of pre-puberty to make me feel comfortable. I know for others it's sexier, cleaner etc.

I'm currently rocking the 'edged and trimmed' look.

bananafish81 · 09/07/2018 12:19

Lycon wax is LIKE MAGIC

I don't know how it works compared to other hot wax, but it is like witchcraft. Doesn't hurt, no ingrowns - best wax ever. I would recommend to anyone getting an intimate wax to seek out a salon that does Lycon. Proper game-changer.

waterlego6064 · 09/07/2018 12:44

Penguin, sorry, delicate question. ahead. I have had a Brazillian/Hollywood a few times but not for a while. Does a standard Brazilian include the undercarriage? Or is that a Hollywood? If the latter, why have I had funny looks when I've asked for a Hollywood with some on the front? Smooth underneath is nice but I don't like a bald frontage! (And I find the ingrowing hair much worse on the pubis than on the labia).

Also, I am assuming that it is sometimes necessary for the therapist to...er....manipulate the labia to hold them taught if the client wants a totally smooth finish?

PanGalaticGargleBlaster · 09/07/2018 12:56

Torn an ex of mine (a redhead) had a hairy chest and back It didnt bother me one iota

I am of a somewhat hirsute disposition and I remember the late 90s/00s being a particularly torrid time for my younger self when the fashion of the day (in London anyway) was for a waxed / shaved chest. The worse memory was when after dating a women I was particularly fond of we finally got to the 'bedroom stage' and upon seeing my hairy chest told me flat out that she did not 'do' hairy men which kind of put an abrupt end to that relationship. :-(

StarkintheSouth · 09/07/2018 12:59

I look like a giant baby if I'm hairless - I just don't like the way it looks. A neat little triangle makes me feel womanly though and so I get it waxed otherwise I get horrendous ingrowing hairs. But being bare is practical, especially in summer.

Penguin34 · 09/07/2018 13:02

@waterlego

So generally a Hollywood is bald front to back- pubis mound, underneath and round your bum.
Then a Brazilian is the same but with a landing strip (or whatever shape) remaining.

But saying that some therapists call things by different names so just check when you lie down.
I usually say 'we doing all off today?'

For the Labia I pull, hold, stretch whatever with one hand and pull the wax off with the other, I don't ask the client to help.
However, things can change with larger ladies, I would probably get them to hold their stomach up or put their legs off either side of the couch or occasionally would need to do all fours to get the bum if they're too big to hug their knees. X

Penguin34 · 09/07/2018 13:03

@bananafish81 totally correct, clients seek us out because we are a lycon salon x

Penguin34 · 09/07/2018 13:09

Regarding being hairless being like a little girl.

I don't get that because people don't say that about legs and underarms?
Now, I'm not saying people who think this are wrong as you feel how you feel, I've just never got it.

I don't remember feeling 'like a woman' when I got my pubes! I do remember shaving it all off for swimming lessons in senior school so it can't have been long after I got it!

I've never watched porn or looked at magazines like that or seen anyone else's other then my mums (had a bush) at that point and I wasn't sexually active, I just knew I didn't like hair anywhere and I shaved everything even my arms!! Glad I got out of that habit.

My husband doesn't mind either way for sex but he wouldn't want to go down on my eith a big old bush but I wouldn't feel nice that way anyway, nor would I with hairy legs.

Penguin34 · 09/07/2018 13:12

Actually I do remember having a period with a sanitary towel at school and it all sticking to the hairs and feeling really dirty like that.

I def feel cleaner when waxed, even the 4 weeks between waxes as it's not all grown back. I wouldn't 'feel' clean with a bush.

I'm not saying it is cleaner and you don't need it there unless you are running around the garden of Eden with just a leaf infront of your bits.

bellinisurge · 09/07/2018 13:18

But only your sexual partner or you medical professional sees your pubic area. Everyone sees your armpits and legs if e.g you wear summer clothes . If you want to, that's fine. I don't. That's also fine.
