Are completely bare foofs a thing now? Having had a nasty experience of an ingrown hair from shaving bikini line (which required anti-biotics) why go through that? Nevermind the faff. Who want's an evening shadow on their lady bits?

I've never had any major waxing down there. What actually happens?

I’ve never seen porn, it’s not my thing for many reasons. The fact it has any bearing on what women do with our bodies is beyond fucking depressing though.

Porn’s not my thing either. But I felt I had to see what my children were likely going to access/be shown on phones. Two clicks to school uniforms. Oh, and the only female hair you see is on “old woman with massive bush” and similar.

I’ve firewalled the shit out of our kids devices, and they don’t use other ones so I guess I’m lucky in that respect.

It also worries me deeply that if men and boys have easy access to porn depicting younger and younger women, then that will in turn shape their tastes, which will in turn lead to increasing volumes of child abuse.

I may be shot down here, but porn being anyone’s ideal of sex worries me a lot.

Isn’t most of it basically portraying women as a series of holes? (XH was a big porn fan) that can’t foster a healthy attitude towards women and sex surely?

It is dirtier and sweatier to have hair, obviously. That's why i make sure my head is completely shaven.

I wish with all my heart that porn hadn't become so acceptable / accessible and mainstream. I don't want my children and my children's partners to learn from it and to base their future sexual relationships on those models. But they will - and it's one of the most heartbreaking things about being a child in these times in my opinion.

I always have removed everything, I'm just in the habit now. It was very popular when I was growing up and in school (I'm 29 now) and I think I've just continued to do so.

It wasn't anything to do with sexual partners either because this was well before I even had sex (years) and I wasn't interested in having a boyfriend at school.

I can only hope that at each stage of my children’s lives I (and DP) will have done enough to teach them that porn and all the associated shit that comes with it just isn’t real and that women are worth more than the sum of their orifices!

I am an unshaven lady. Just manage the muff with a bit of trim now and then. However, I am lucky in that I have very fine, very blond hair. Not much down there, and as a previous poster confirmed, the older you get, the less you have, it kind of gets rubbed away!! I think everyone to their own, and in their own circumstances. If you have very thick dark hair, manage periods with pads, and get sweaty, shaving is the way to go. My only concern is that teens now think it is ONLY acceptable to have a shaven muff, and that they know this to be true, as the boys have said so. This from my 15 year old DD who tried to have a debate about it, and was shouted down by the mob. I find that disturbing and sad, that girls that age think they do not have the choice, and that they are being dictated to by 15 year old boys. Just awful.

I grew up in the first wave of easily available online porn and body hair was utterly demonised by girls and boys alike at school. I distinctly remember we'd shave everything, especially underarms red raw for fear of anyone spotting a hint of stubble.

Now I LOVE not shaving waxing. Free the fuzz!

i use pads and have thick dark hair down there. i think the bath i have (two baths in this heat) every day is enough.

i wont be told or pressured into shaving simply because im performing a normal womanly function (bleeding) and cant use tampons.

I only have one approaching his teens (other two are still wee) and I got some great resources from his school about puberty, sexual feelings and most importantly appropriate behaviour and respect (he’s autistic so the school had resources age and understanding appropriate).

Consent is something I’ve always taught, no forcing of kisses or cuddles, the right to say no to being kissed or cuddled, that kind of thing.

I hope I’m doing it right, it’s very important that I do.

My children are older-one adult and one nearly there. Porn has been part of their lives-dd tells me that she was dumped for saying no to anal the first time she went to bed with one man. He just got dressed and left. I am absolutely sure that would not have happened pre Internet porn.
