To wish the people screaming outside would shut up?

Yes, I do understand that people are excited about the football, but it’s Tuesday night and my DC, who is completely exhausted, has to get up early for school - the rather scary shouting has just woken her up. Yep, I know someone will say I should move to the middle of nowhere. I would love to - as many people would - but sadly that’s not possible.

But football is coming home, it's official.

PalePinkSwan · 03/07/2018 22:03

Yes agreed.

3 year old just woken up by screaming and asking me “what’s “fucking come on” mean?”

It’s a weekday and this is a residential area.

Excited car honking now annoying me as well.

DaanSaaf · 03/07/2018 22:04

Annoying but it's only every 4 years and it's been 12 years since England got this far. People are excited!

autumn57565 · 03/07/2018 22:04

Do you live near me? I can hear it too

Sheldonoscopy · 03/07/2018 22:04

But... we won...

KateGrey · 03/07/2018 22:05

They’re doing it here too! I’m so sick of the football! It’s just football but seems like it’s a great excuse to get drunk and act like a hooligan

Sheldonoscopy · 03/07/2018 22:05

My cat jumped 3 feet in the air when I yelled. Karma, I do it when she brings home animals 🤷🏻‍♀️

IcedPurple · 03/07/2018 22:05

Yes. YABVU.

KS34 · 03/07/2018 22:05

For God's sake. World cup happens every 4 years, first time England have ever won a world cup penalty shootout. Some people are quite excited by that. Fair enough.

NoNotheresnolyrics · 03/07/2018 22:05

Sorry that was me haha.

People probably get woken up and disturbed by your screaming kids playing outside of a weekend morning. Everyone’s allowed to make noise every now and again.

dontbesillyhenry · 03/07/2018 22:06

Scary noise Jesus wept

CiderwithBuda · 03/07/2018 22:07

I live next to an ex professional football player. There were lots of shouts from their house. Mainly their teen son and his mates I suspect. Who then ran out into the garden for a lap of honour and a few kicks at goal.

Doesn’t bother me but I don’t have young children asleep.

Dobbythesockelf · 03/07/2018 22:07

My dh just accidently woke our newborn up. He feels bad, I laughed. Sometimes you can't help but shout.

Goldmandra · 03/07/2018 22:08

Yes. We're going to make Britain great again by winning a football game.

I would just try to be grateful you're not one of the people who will be subjected to an extra dose of domestic violence this evening as a result of a football game and get to dread England losing at some point because that means a bigger extra beating.

It just occurred to me to wonder whether DV escalates in other countries when their team play or is England special in that way?

Processedpea · 03/07/2018 22:08

shut your windows then! lordy some people enjoy sucking all the fun out of life

Cantsleeptooloud · 03/07/2018 22:09

Mine woke up and shouted down, "we've scored mummy!"

WigglyBlossom · 03/07/2018 22:09

I love it! Meant I didn't need to watch it, just listen to the neighbours.

Processedpea · 03/07/2018 22:09

fgs gold

Iloveacurry · 03/07/2018 22:10

Yes I was thinking that too!

NoNotheresnolyrics · 03/07/2018 22:10

@Goldmandra yes I’m sure male violence is caused by football.....

It’s happy noise... I don’t particularly care if we win or lose, but I like the happiness it creates.

I also like that I knew what was happening without having to watch it just by listening to the neighbours 👌

Move to Wales. No one gives a shit about the football here Grin

ReadingRiot · 03/07/2018 22:12

It's the first time ever England have won a shoot out at the World Cup, people can have a few minutes to celebrate surely.
