To wish the people screaming outside would shut up?

Yes, I do understand that people are excited about the football, but it’s Tuesday night and my DC, who is completely exhausted, has to get up early for school - the rather scary shouting has just woken her up. Yep, I know someone will say I should move to the middle of nowhere. I would love to - as many people would - but sadly that’s not possible.

OP posts:

Fatted awwww 😂

bellinisurge · 03/07/2018 22:12

Some things you have to let go.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 03/07/2018 22:14

Lol, yes. Tbh I don’t give a flying about the football.

Benandhollysmum · 03/07/2018 22:14

Least it’s only 4 years try having loud neighbours who talk sorry I mean gossip up until half 11 at night every bloody night along with their screaming demons running about the street. All day today and at night yap yap Yap as if the street is interested in their conversation..blah Fk off I want to shout at them lol

Timefortea99 · 03/07/2018 22:14

I am not a football fan, but fgs. Suck the joy out of it, why don’t you?

Frequency · 03/07/2018 22:14

If you do move to the middle of nowhere, can you take my kids with you? I've just spent an hour explaining to them it's the world cup, England are playing, the shouting will stop soon etc.

We don't follow football. It took about an hour of the shouting for me to work out why they were shouting. I initially told DD it must be a prom or a leaving school when she came to whine about the neighbors throwing a garden party on a weeknight.

Is it quiet now OP? Our neighbours stopped a minute or two after they won. I assume they won. The neighbours appear to think football is coming home. DD wants to shove the football up their arse.

Tomorrowillbeachicken · 03/07/2018 22:14

Although DH got out of work early to see the game (although he doesn’t like football)

Wheretheresawill1 · 03/07/2018 22:15

Having same issue here- extremely loud music; kids screaming; adults screaming; dogs barking.

It’s ok though I will ring environmental health in the morning as I have evidence

Just so thoughtless towards others who are trying to sleep

KenAdams · 03/07/2018 22:15

Are there really people in the world who can't be happy about anything? Every kid I know has been allowed to stay up for this. The teachers even explained the format of a game in the knockout stages to them at school today. Just chill out for a little bit ffs.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 03/07/2018 22:15

YABU, it’s a one off.

dudsville · 03/07/2018 22:16

I'm not into but I'm very happy for my oh, who's really overjoyed so I celebrated with him. There's always a sport or festival that involves partying or fireworks. The world we live in is not set up around bedtimes, wouldn't it be funny though if it was!

CluedoAddict · 03/07/2018 22:16

We have twats here driving up and down the road with their car horns constantly beeping. It's a bloody game of football O don't see the excitement.

Wheretheresawill1 · 03/07/2018 22:16

Ps mine is local shop on a residential street that seemed to get a licence to do this.

TwitterQueen1 · 03/07/2018 22:16

NoNo it is a well documented and proven fact that domestic violence increases significantly when we lose at these football matches. Please do not be so dismissive of the genuine pain and fear that occurs.

midnightmisssuki · 03/07/2018 22:16

Oh man - come on! England are through! It’s a good thing and it won’t last for hours! It’s a happy noise!

NoNotheresnolyrics · 03/07/2018 22:16

Wheretheresawill1 I doubt environmental health will bother as it’s only 10 at night. You can make noise up to 11pm

between4and7 · 03/07/2018 22:18

Hmm get a grip

CantankerousCamel · 03/07/2018 22:18

Take the kids outside, show them the magic

NoNotheresnolyrics · 03/07/2018 22:18

TwitterQueen1 male violence isn’t caused by football - surely there are other complex factors at play. If it was the cause then my husband wouldn’t be quietly sitting on the couch next to me giving me a foot massage.

expatka · 03/07/2018 22:18

Yes, extremely unreasonable. As Nonotheresnolyrics said, your kids will no doubt have disturbed others at some point too. Your child may need to get up early in the morning, but there are other people in this world and we all need to show a little give and take.

Justanotherlurker · 03/07/2018 22:18

It’s ok though I will ring environmental health in the morning as I have evidence

HAHAHA..

CheeseOnToastMmm · 03/07/2018 22:18

Good lord you’ll be reporting to ss, we’ve all celebrated and my 4 year old has just gone to bed! It’s not something that happens often is it?! Get a grip!

TwitterQueen1 · 03/07/2018 22:19

PalePink your 3 year old is to be commended if she can a) wake from her sleep enough to distinguish “fucking come on” from all the noise outside and b) repeat it verbatim to you. Hmm

Chill people. Can we not have 5 minutes of celebration? or maybe even half an hour?

RhythmStix · 03/07/2018 22:19

Bah humbug!

IT'S COMING HOME Grin

ButterChickenwithyellowrice · 03/07/2018 22:19

Yes, I do understand that people are excited about the football

You clearly don't!
