Sibling name for Ophelia

Balletmummyxx · 22/06/2018 14:37

Boy/ girl sibling suggestions to go with my daughters name, ‘Ophelia’. Quite like ethereal/ regal names. Ophelia reminds me of a fairy queen. That’s along the lines I’m going for. Thankyou 🤗

Someone is bound to suggest Oberon. So I thought it might as well be me.

alibongo5 · 22/06/2018 14:42

The Queen in Hamlet is Gertrude? Though probably not what you're looking for!

ghostyslovesheets · 22/06/2018 14:42

Balonz?

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 22/06/2018 14:42

Raina for a girl. It means Queen.

IGiorni · 22/06/2018 14:42

nameberry.com/babyname/Ophelia/similar

Loads on there Smile I particularly like Evangeline, Delilah and Florence. Ophelia is a lovely name btw.

TaliZorahVasNormandy · 22/06/2018 14:42

or Sarah, means Princess.

Apologies hadn’t realized this thread was in completely the wrong place 🙈

Well, Titania was the actual fairy queen in A Midsummer Night's Dream.

I'd avoid Hamlet, for obvious reasons. Ophelia's brother was Laertes, though, so that's a possibility.

SandyFagina · 22/06/2018 14:43

Frogmella

Balletmummyxx · 22/06/2018 14:44

I like it but might be overkill on the Shakespeare!? Hmm

Portia
Reuben

I'm a big fan of Shakespearean names. If I'd had another dd she'd have been called Regan (from King Lear). My dd1 has a Shakespearean name too but wont post it here as it would be outing.

semideponent · 22/06/2018 14:44

Miranda or Ariel (both characters from The Tempest)

kierenthecommunity · 22/06/2018 14:45

Gotta be Laertes for a boy surely? Grin

cricketmum84 · 22/06/2018 14:46

What about Reign for a boy? Anastasia for a girl (I'm hope the whole 50 shades thing has passed now lol)

cricketmum84 · 22/06/2018 14:48

@IGiorni I ❤️❤️❤️ Evangeline!

SandyFagina · 22/06/2018 14:48

Kyla-Mai?

justilou1 · 22/06/2018 14:49

Giselle? (I am biased - this is also my best friend’s middle name, and she’s practically a real-life Disney princess)

Balletmummyxx · 22/06/2018 14:49

Gertrude and Frogmella 🐸 ummmm.....

I think if you already have a DD called Ophelia, that ship has already sailed Grin

WillowRose79 · 22/06/2018 14:50

I like Beatrice with Ophelia!

ShakespearesSisters · 22/06/2018 14:50

I have an Ophelia too :-) We went back to Shakespeare for DD2. They do sound quiet similar but shortened are different. They love their names.

Balletmummyxx · 22/06/2018 14:51

I LOVE Giselle but I’m worried her nickname would be Gis... this could potentially be a problem! Hmm
