Sibling name for Ophelia

Balletmummyxx · 22/06/2018 14:37

Boy/ girl sibling suggestions to go with my daughters name, ‘Ophelia’. Quite like ethereal/ regal names. Ophelia reminds me of a fairy queen. That’s along the lines I’m going for. Thankyou 🤗

What will she think when she sees the play for the first time??
She'll probably think "great name".

My DD's name is shared with a tragic and unsympathetic fucked up film character. I didn't name dd after the character. She just happens to be the most publicly known person with "that name".

It's not like they are being called Hitler.

"What do you shorten Ophelia to?"
My DS knows an Ophelia, I've heard him say 'Feely'. I've only ever heard the mum say Ophelia though.

DSHathawayGivesMeFannyGallops · 23/06/2018 12:12

I would shorten it to "Phia".

LongSummerDays · 23/06/2018 12:15

I do hope that your surname isn't Balls Grin

Joking apart Ophelia is a lovely name. Eleanor, Beatrice for girl James, Louis (people may think you've copied Kate Middleton) or Michael. Smile

angieloumc · 23/06/2018 12:22

What about Evangeline or Ariadne, not too many Shakespeare's then?
I do know little twin sisters called Ophelia and Florence.

Fozzleyplum · 23/06/2018 12:32

Perdita

Both from a Winter's Tale, iirc.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 23/06/2018 13:09

In the Flavia De Luce books, her sister Ophelia is also called Feely for short.

This this thread is 5 months old @IbizaLovesSundays. I doubt the OP is still reading it - I wouldn't be surprised if they have had the baby already.
