Sibling name for Ophelia

Boy/ girl sibling suggestions to go with my daughters name, ‘Ophelia’. Quite like ethereal/ regal names. Ophelia reminds me of a fairy queen. That’s along the lines I’m going for. Thankyou 🤗

My ex was called Orlando and his sister was Faye.
They would be fabulous with Ophelia.

rosesandflowers1 · 22/06/2018 16:20

Please tell me people are just taking the piss with most of these atrocious suggestions?

I'd consider the vast majority of these names. I think I did, actually.

Cliveybaby · 22/06/2018 16:21

cressida? Knew a lovely one at work
or cassandra?

thegreylady · 22/06/2018 16:22

Miranda is lovely for a girl so is Viola or Perdita.
Maybe Sebastian or Orlando or Crispin for a boy.

JovialNickname · 22/06/2018 16:22

Waynetta

Geekmama · 22/06/2018 16:24

What about Octavian for a boy Octavia for a girl.

LeighaJ · 22/06/2018 16:32

I feel so sorry for kids whose parents give them stupid, weird names, like my dumbass Mother did to me.

There's nothing wrong with normal, every day names like Emma, Jane, Sarah, Louise etc.

Basta · 22/06/2018 16:33

Has noone suggested Polonius?

ikeepaforkinmypurse · 22/06/2018 16:34

Viennetta is lovely
Or Ferrero, it sounds really posh for a girl.

rosesandflowers1 · 22/06/2018 16:35

I like Louise.

Honestly I'd like to be called something like that! I'm a bit of a romantic maybe. I remember reading someone posting online that they'd hate to have a name you could find on a personalised ruler Grin

But that is something to consider, OP - your kid might hate it. None of my DC particularly objected but maybe choose something that could be shortened just in case? Persephone could be Sephy, Katherina could be Katie etc.

GrannyGrissle · 22/06/2018 16:40

Insomniacanonymous Gary is in that list Grin Ophelia and Gary?

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 22/06/2018 16:41

Well as seen as you have Frogmella and Waynetta it’s only fair to suggest Spudulika too Smile.
Seriously though I am named one of the more outlandish suggestions in this thread, and, whilst I don’t hate it I do sometimes wish when I’m asked my name I could just say Jane or Lisa or summat a bit more normal Smile

MikeUniformMike · 22/06/2018 16:43

Polonius is wonderful.
How about Leopoldina or Demelza for a girl
and Nicodemus or Rafaello for a boy?

Dljlr · 22/06/2018 16:45

No suggestions except to avoid Amelia, cos it rhymes. As I pointed out to an acquaintance who named her daughters thus. Who then got terribly pissy at me and later launched a Facebook rant insisting that they don't rhyme. They do

LakieLady · 22/06/2018 16:45

I love Imogen, Bianca, Helena, Cressida and Beatrice. I used to love the name Miranda, but Miranda Hart and her gurning awfulness put me off.

I'd go for Beatrice for a girl and Benedict for a boy, because Much Ado is one of my favourite Shakespeare comedies. Lysander is nice too.

I've never been able to consider Portia seriously as a girl's name because The Archers' Mrs Antrobus had an Afghan hound called Portia.

Whatthefunk · 22/06/2018 16:47

Virginia (Ginny)

Ohmydayslove · 22/06/2018 16:48

Oh love demelza!

And Miranda.

Hey that list of the everyday names are my 2 and my sisters 2!!! Seriously Grin my mother would be outraged at our names every day and actually I was the only one with my name throughout school. I loved that. Popular now though Grin

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 16:53

Maybe Cleopatra, Marilyn or Virginia if you’re going for the whole self immolation vibe?

SomethingNastyInTheBallPool · 22/06/2018 16:55

Tilapia.

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 16:57

How about Oedipus for a boy, Oprah for a girl? And if you crack out a fourth one Omarion?

Oh come on, not Oedipus Grin

MikeUniformMike · 22/06/2018 17:04

Obsidian for a boy
Ordelia for a girl

MrsEricBana · 22/06/2018 17:05

Anyone said Bottom yet? - this ticks the Shakespeare box nicely and we also have Ophelia Bottom. No contest imo.
