Sibling name for Ophelia

Boy/ girl sibling suggestions to go with my daughters name, ‘Ophelia’. Quite like ethereal/ regal names. Ophelia reminds me of a fairy queen. That’s along the lines I’m going for. Thankyou 🤗

Okay then, Oedipais if you’re going to pick classical bones about it.

MikeUniformMike · 22/06/2018 17:07

I did. Ophelia and Bottom would need a sibling though
Ophelia, Bottom and ... Dick? Fanny?

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 17:07

Or Antigone.

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 17:12

Oh and you have to have a Ptolemy OP. Everybody worth knowing has a Ptolemy.

Or a Quetzalcoatl. Demonstrates solidarity against Trump and weeds out the plebs who can’t pronounce it so he’ll never end up with a Lily-Mae because she won’t be able to pronounce it and will give up.

MrsEricBana · 22/06/2018 17:12

Great minds Mike!

rosesandflowers1 · 22/06/2018 17:12

Okay then, Oedipais if you’re going to pick classical bones about it.

I meant that he was famous for having sex with his mum and there's a whole psychological complex about it Grin

A step too far, I think.

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 17:13

How about Titania? You could go in the garden and shout ‘Ophelia Tits’.

AveABanana · 22/06/2018 17:14

I wouldn't go with Gisele. DS1 has a classmate with that name who everyone he calls Chisel.

I like Persephone and Ianto.

MrsEricBana · 22/06/2018 17:14

LeahJack do you remember that thread where someone's sister had used a name with the silent letter in the wrong place and someone guessed it was tolemyp? 😂😂

MikeUniformMike · 22/06/2018 17:15

Isn't it pronounced Jizzle?

Am I the only one who thinks Exorcist when Regan is mentioned rather than Shakespeare?

NotTakenUsername · 22/06/2018 17:16

Storm?

LokiBear · 22/06/2018 17:30

Aurelia for a girl (pronounced Or-ray-li-ah). Gideon for a boy.

LokiBear · 22/06/2018 17:30

Or Grayson for a boy

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 17:32

Tolemyp is a winner.

Or how about Inigo after the famous gardener Inigo Jones.

Or, y’know, Inigo Montoya. That way if anybody ever bumps you off OP you’ll be sorted revenge wise.

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 17:33

Gideon for a boy.

He’ll only change it to George.

MikeUniformMike · 22/06/2018 17:33

Wasn't Regan from The Sweeney and then Shakespeare made a play about it?

How about Rudyard or Desiderata?

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 17:35

Am I the only one who thinks Exorcist when Regan is mentioned rather than Shakespeare?

I think of Ronald. That’s a nice name. Wonder if you can swing free Big Macs with it? That would be a useful lifeskill for when Ptolemy has polished off all the Baba Ganoush.

LeahJack · 22/06/2018 17:37

Rudyard, do you get free cakes with that? Mr Kipling n’all. If the case that should definitely be your favourite child OP. Ronald just won’t cut it with his Big Macs when there’s cake going.

Oakmaiden · 22/06/2018 17:39

Isn't it pronounced Jizzle?

The "j" sound is soft and breathy. The only other word I can think of offhand with a similar "j" sound is Beijing.

TroubledLichen · 22/06/2018 17:40

I actually know 2 Inigos, is it really that out there?! They are both over 40 though. Regan always makes me think of gonorrhoea thanks to some immature idiots in my Lear tutorial and I can’t shake the association. Love the suggestion of Rudyard, very under used these days, it’s definitely due for a comeback.

Rainbowsteacupsandkittens · 22/06/2018 17:46

Gwendolyn, Clarissa, Anastasia, Dahlia, Fleur , Flora
Lysander

MarthasGinYard · 22/06/2018 17:48

Celeste

Lawrence

MikeUniformMike · 22/06/2018 17:53

No Hao!
Beijing has a hard j, not a zh sound. Bay Zhing is wrong. Bay Jing is how you should say it.
Gisele is Zhee-zelle. Jizzle is rude.Grin
