Well, it is now 11:14 and I have very rudely not updated you all!!

It's quite fun I must say.

So, by some twist of fate 'someone' let the air out of one of DH's tires last night. Was full and plump last night, this morning it looked like it had melted. Funny coincidence.
However DH had parked up just behind me, any further back and he would have been encroaching on our other neighbours drive.
So 10:05 rolls around and there is a knock on the door- just the menfolk this time, asking me to shift my car.

Well unfortunatley I am not able to due to the flat tire DH has and I am now blocked in too. Darn. I explain to the menfolk what's happened and instantly I can tell by their faces it was them (or one of the others) who let the tire down. I've explained that someone is coming out to replace the tire later than day and slipped in the conversation that we have motion sensor dash cams in both cars so will of course be turned over the footage to the police.

I'll be honest with you, I could have gotten my car out at this point, but it would have been a lot of shimmying back and forth and I actually couldnt really be bothered with all that.

One of the men tells me that this has gotten well out of hand and if he offers to sort the tire out now, can we please shift and he assures me that they will never park on our property again.

I said absolutely (I don't want to appear unreasonable!), However I must insist on an apology from the driver who felt the need to park on my drive way and the driver who blocked them in.

You'll be pleased to know that have now received apologies from two very sheepish looking women (along with a lengthy explanation as to why they parked there) and DH has a lovely new bouncy tire.

Before leaving one of the menfolk asking if we could please delete the footage from the dash cam. He thinks the culprit was just having a bad day and made a bad decision. Bless.

I love the idea that it's ok to use other people's private property if they're not currently using it. Think I'll go round and use my neighbour's hot tub while they're out!

Thoroughly enjoyed this thread and the CFs comeuppance! Star

NotClear · 16/06/2018 12:12

Just a bit off topic OP, but what dash cam do you have? I've been given the task of buying one for the in laws and I have no idea what I'm doing!

Emma198 · 16/06/2018 12:12

How did they know DHs car was his and not someone else's?

MartyMcFly1984 · 16/06/2018 12:13

So in summary, when you did not unblock their car, they vandalised another car which was blocking in your car, thus blocking in you, and then expected you to be able to unblock them whilst blocked yourself? I think the adults need to be going to school along with the kids.

Clutterbugsmum · 16/06/2018 12:13

I'm glad you haven't delete the footage as they have shown themselves not only happy to trespass but also commit criminal damage to one of your cars. There no saying what they will do next.

And as for that cock and bull story about getting their children to school safely, then I suggest they get up earlier and get then to school earlier so the miss the busy time.

Definitely send all the pictures and a explanation of what has happened.

GinandGingerBeer · 16/06/2018 12:17

Which one of them let the tyre down?

Tiredmumno1 · 16/06/2018 12:19

Emma198 I think the OP said in the first thread somewhere that the CFs had been standing in the street when her husband arrived home, and watched him go into the house before knocking Smile.

RadicalFern · 16/06/2018 12:20

Their "getting to school" philosophy is the exact opposite of "be the change you want to see in the world" isn't it? It's more like "actively contribute to the problem you think there is in the world."

MissEliza · 16/06/2018 12:21

I'd also like to know what dash cam you have. I'm absolutely fizzing at the rudeness of those people Angry.

Singlebutmarried · 16/06/2018 12:21

Amazing!!!

wombatron · 16/06/2018 12:22

Truely amazing!

BeautyBox · 16/06/2018 12:24

Will you marry me, OP? And your DH.

I read OH this thread last night - his introduction to AIBU? and parking threads. He had to admit that your update last night. was the best thing he'd heard in ages. He will be thrilled to see your instalment today.

👏🏼

Emma198 · 16/06/2018 12:25

@Tiredmumno1 oh right I thought they'd just seen him through window given he told them he'd already had a drink so couldn't move car.

Pinkprincess1978 · 16/06/2018 12:27

Great update. The cfery of some people astounds me. So glad you got your apology. Let's hope it's a lesson learned from now on!

SpandexTutu · 16/06/2018 12:30

I would take that footage to the police.
Parking on your drive is one thing, damaging your car is another game all together.

DevilsDoorbell · 16/06/2018 12:34

Fantastic update

I think I’d have also mentioned about cctv you’re getting Installed. You know, just in case anyone else has a bad day

TERFragetteCity · 16/06/2018 12:35

Top work OP and OP's DH. Top work.

LexieLulu · 16/06/2018 12:35

This is bloody amazing! What idiot would think to let the air out of the tyre?

Have you watched the footage? 😂

Fishface77 · 16/06/2018 12:41

Share the footage on Facebook and send us the link. Please.

BowiesJumper · 16/06/2018 12:42

Which of them let the air out? Amazing.

bastardkitty · 16/06/2018 12:46

They're not the brightest, are they? Handled like a pro OP!

Bluelonerose · 16/06/2018 12:50

Oh no you've got to send it to the police. If someone has vandalised your car your need to protect your property Wink

Mamia15 · 16/06/2018 12:51

Fucking brilliant.

mommybear1 · 16/06/2018 12:52

Oh OP 🙇🏻‍♀️ (this is supposed to be a bow!) well done superb result and brilliant thread - cannot believe the CF's let a tyre down 😱 just dreadful behaviour given they were so clearly in the wrong in the first place. Well 🥇 🥇🥇 for you, DH and lovely neighbour - well done OP I hope you have no more issues with these idiots. Enjoy your weekend and I hope Winewill feature for you again this evening to celebrate a successful parking thread!
