Well, it is now 11:14 and I have very rudely not updated you all!!

It's quite fun I must say.

So, by some twist of fate 'someone' let the air out of one of DH's tires last night. Was full and plump last night, this morning it looked like it had melted. Funny coincidence.
However DH had parked up just behind me, any further back and he would have been encroaching on our other neighbours drive.
So 10:05 rolls around and there is a knock on the door- just the menfolk this time, asking me to shift my car.

Well unfortunatley I am not able to due to the flat tire DH has and I am now blocked in too. Darn. I explain to the menfolk what's happened and instantly I can tell by their faces it was them (or one of the others) who let the tire down. I've explained that someone is coming out to replace the tire later than day and slipped in the conversation that we have motion sensor dash cams in both cars so will of course be turned over the footage to the police.

I'll be honest with you, I could have gotten my car out at this point, but it would have been a lot of shimmying back and forth and I actually couldnt really be bothered with all that.

One of the men tells me that this has gotten well out of hand and if he offers to sort the tire out now, can we please shift and he assures me that they will never park on our property again.

I said absolutely (I don't want to appear unreasonable!), However I must insist on an apology from the driver who felt the need to park on my drive way and the driver who blocked them in.

You'll be pleased to know that have now received apologies from two very sheepish looking women (along with a lengthy explanation as to why they parked there) and DH has a lovely new bouncy tire.

Before leaving one of the menfolk asking if we could please delete the footage from the dash cam. He thinks the culprit was just having a bad day and made a bad decision. Bless.

These people really sound like the brain's of Britain letting down your DH's tyre when he needed to move to let them out.

So… if you have something you don't need, and you are aware that others clearly need that thing, it's principled behaviour to tell them they can't have it, even though you don't need it yourself?
I don't think so.

Cloud is an excellent late addition to this thread, we literally have everything on here. I like the idea of the CFs being in need. Did they say that when they apologised OP? "We wus needy guv!" whilst they wrung their caps in their perished and gnarled fingers?

SauvignonBlanche · 17/06/2018 13:21

I’m thinking about a dash cam now.

SunnyTikka · 17/06/2018 13:37

Well what a bunch of thickos they were!

My DH is on nights so I am leaving this page open on my computer to update him when he gets up. Have loved it.

SO proud of you, your DH and your neighbour!

CristalTipps · 17/06/2018 13:50

Message it to the moderators Buttercup, we don't need to hear about how clever you are.

DGRossetti · 17/06/2018 17:05

We have an Apeman dashcam. Only £30 or so. Tbf I've never watched the footage before so no idea if it's actually any good ha!

We've got a Nextbase - over £150. The quality is excellent ... but last year, in broad daylight, I saw a fox skulking by the side of the road before running across the road and disappearing into the hedgerow.

Pulled the footage, and there's no sign of the fox whatsoever. Although you can hear me saying to MrsRossetti on the audio ...

is that a fucking fox ?

I'm guessing that small objects moving fast just don't show up. It's a little concerning ... if I had braked suddenly for the fox and had some muppet rear-end me, I'd have no proof that I had seen a fox.

LapdanceShoeshine · 17/06/2018 17:54

But can the camera see the same bit of road you can see?

Missingstreetlife · 17/06/2018 17:57

Op you need gates

squooz · 17/06/2018 18:52

Well done OP - well handled by you and husband with CFs! I just don't understand this - if I can't park legally/politely when I pick my DD up (as in being too lazy to walk some days) then I park further away and run like the clappers (and end up hyperventilating and purple in the face) to get there. Hate seeing blocked drives etc - if that had been my parents when they were alive it could have stopped important access for health professionals or carers. grrrr.

Blatherskite · 17/06/2018 19:07

As a great Drag Queen almost said once - The Gentlemen couldn't start their engines, because the best woman won Grin

Well done Op, you definitely didn't Fuck it Up.

SneakyGremlins · 17/06/2018 19:09

SneakyGremlins · 17/06/2018 19:10

Blatherskite · 17/06/2018 19:17

Blatherskite · 17/06/2018 19:19

Tonight's maxi challenge : Glitter on the run drive way

SneakyGremlins · 17/06/2018 19:34

In the maxi challenge, you drove us crazy. And on the runway, you were unable to park it in. I'm sorry my dear but you are up for elimination.

cakesandphotos · 17/06/2018 21:29

OP I hope you’re in my local town! Well played!

Nevergiveup1980 · 17/06/2018 21:47

Can’t believe the cheek & the laziness of some parents on a school run!! Your story is great had me hooked. I’m constantly blocked in most school mornings. It’s always the same idiots. Would love to say something & do if I have to go out. I’m going to attempt to attach a picture of 2 CFers double blocking me in Monday gone at 8:47. I do love a good parking thread & this is that
