My Second Parking Thread

Well, it is now 11:14 and I have very rudely not updated you all!!

It's quite fun I must say.

So, by some twist of fate 'someone' let the air out of one of DH's tires last night. Was full and plump last night, this morning it looked like it had melted. Funny coincidence.
However DH had parked up just behind me, any further back and he would have been encroaching on our other neighbours drive.
So 10:05 rolls around and there is a knock on the door- just the menfolk this time, asking me to shift my car.

Well unfortunatley I am not able to due to the flat tire DH has and I am now blocked in too. Darn. I explain to the menfolk what's happened and instantly I can tell by their faces it was them (or one of the others) who let the tire down. I've explained that someone is coming out to replace the tire later than day and slipped in the conversation that we have motion sensor dash cams in both cars so will of course be turned over the footage to the police.

I'll be honest with you, I could have gotten my car out at this point, but it would have been a lot of shimmying back and forth and I actually couldnt really be bothered with all that.

One of the men tells me that this has gotten well out of hand and if he offers to sort the tire out now, can we please shift and he assures me that they will never park on our property again.

I said absolutely (I don't want to appear unreasonable!), However I must insist on an apology from the driver who felt the need to park on my drive way and the driver who blocked them in.

You'll be pleased to know that have now received apologies from two very sheepish looking women (along with a lengthy explanation as to why they parked there) and DH has a lovely new bouncy tire.

Before leaving one of the menfolk asking if we could please delete the footage from the dash cam. He thinks the culprit was just having a bad day and made a bad decision. Bless.

Knobs. As if they didn't know that letting air out from tour husband's tyre would mean blocking you in, so you couldn't let them out.

I'd still be telling school OP.

GetInMaBelleh · 16/06/2018 11:53

OP you are my hero.

SharronNeedles · 16/06/2018 11:54

We 100% won't be deleting anything! In fact, I may feature it at my next social gathering! As it's motion sensor, practically the whole thing has been recorded.
May enter it into the next local film festival, I'll do a voice over using quotes from this and my last thread.

Wow I’d enjoy watching the fools letting the tyres down that’s hilarious they truly are thick.

Cuttingthegrass · 16/06/2018 11:58

I would watch the dash cam and I would inform the school about parking on your driveway and over your droooed curb and also the aggressive notes through the doors and shouting up and down the street about who owned the car

They had no respect for noise levels. Someone could have been asleep after shift work.

They are entitled selfish brats

LakieLady · 16/06/2018 11:58

Not just Cheeky Fuckers, but Thick Cheeky Fuckers!

Brilliant outcome, and handled really well by you and your awesome neighbours.

SoupDragon · 16/06/2018 11:58

Marvellous!

👏

I think that’s my favourite part.

Cuttingthegrass · 16/06/2018 11:59

*whatever a drooooed curb might be Blush as you were

Monkeypuzzle32 · 16/06/2018 11:59

Soooo, was the person in the dash cam one of the men who came to the door?

Tiredtomybones · 16/06/2018 12:02

A lovely update, OP, well played.

greenlanes · 16/06/2018 12:02

Do you really have a dash cam ;)

Billben · 16/06/2018 12:03

Completely off subject here, but can you give me the make and model of your dash cam please SharronNeedles. Sounds like something I could do with

AndersArms · 16/06/2018 12:03

OP you and your DH are legends. Best parking thread ever WineWineThanks

RideOn · 16/06/2018 12:05

I’m glad you got your apology, even though it had to be squeezed out of them!
I thought you were bluffing about the dashcam!

Maelstrop · 16/06/2018 12:05

Wow, they’re a bit thick, aren’t they, letting the air out. Idiots.

8misskitty8 · 16/06/2018 12:05

If they are worried about the safety of their children then why are they not walking the short distance with them and teaching them about road safety. ? There will be crossings/traffic lights somewhere surely that they could use.
The parents clogging your street with cars are actually causing safety issues for children who are walking to the school.

Have to laugh at their logic at using your drive. It’s empty so they never saw an issue using it. It’s not theirs to use. By that logic their house is empty during the day therefore people should use it.

I’d post the dash cam footage on local sites and send to the police.

Mine, too. Utter idiot.

Probably the nitwit that's been caught on camera doing it, too. Wonder if his wife was the CF driveway parker or CF blocking in parker.

Unbelievable sense of entitlement to your driveway because their precious children go to school on the street. Last time I checked, parking rules don't stop applying and common courtesy shouldn't occur because your children gasp go to school nearby. Although plenty of parents seem to think they do..

shipshapeandchaotic · 16/06/2018 12:07

You played a blinder. I am in awe. Hats off to you 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

NeverTell9871 · 16/06/2018 12:08

Absolutely fantastic! One of the best threads I've read in a while (this and the original)!
