Aibu to ask how you deal with thigh rub?

It's hot. I want to wear a skirt. In colder weather I always wear tights but when it's this hot wearing tights is horrible! Even at my thinnest (9st) I have never achieved a thigh gap. By the end of the day I have sore red raw patches on my inner thighs where they rub. How can I fix this? The only alternative is to wear leggings under a maxi or trousers Hmm. Surely I am not the only uncomfortable person ?

Baby talc powder. When it happens, I use a baby bum cream called bepanthum available from Chemists and almost heals it immediately.

This totally works for thighs and boobs. Better than lanacane and it a much bigger tub so cheaper to.

If you use a balm, does that mean you have greasy thighs all day?

I use body glide and not at all. It’s not greasy in the slightest. I’m a size 16-18 on my lower half and used to have a big problem on holiday with chafing, but I just apply a couple of swipes inside each thigh in the morning and it works like a dream, you don’t even notice it’s on.

I use body shop body butter. Works well.

Another vote for the M and S culotte slips here. Yes they look hideous, but no one can see them under your clothes. They're so comfortable, I'll be buying more!

Mrsmuddle wouldn't you just be better off wearing stockings/hold ups rather than cutting the crouch out of tights which just sounds wrong?

I bought cotton legging things from ebay in an assortment of colours to match any summery frocks

the description made me laugh too lots of pidgin english about enhancing the sexy and protection of modesty!

but it worked, and also meant I wasn't worried about flashing too much of my 40year old thighs.
I might just go to primark though this year.

A lot of runners use something called bodyglide to stop chafing during a long run. You can buy it from Amazon or on specialist running shoe shops. It's very effective.

I second comfort shorts. I used to get mine from Taking Shape, but you can only order from Australia now. Sloggi are doing them, or there is a company called Big Bloomers which does them too. Probably no good for thin people though!

Honestly thought this was going to be a thread about being groped. Glad I was wrong.
boxer shorts with lots lycra work well, they don't ride up but keep the worst of chafing at bay.

There's quite a bit of research that suggests talc usage around the the genitals can be linked to ovarian cancer. I don't think causation has been proven but there have been ovarian tumours dissected with talc grains in their centre, and the mineral talc is often found near asbestos, causing some cross-contamination. There's been a few successful court cases against Johnson and Johnson in the US, one quite recently in the news.

So I'd avoid talc between my legs, personally.

I've always used Lanacane but heard about the Bodyglide stuff yesterday so might try that. And cycling shorts. Although to be honest, I've mostly given up wearing skirts/dresses in hot weather, I'd rather wear shorts/crops than worry about the chafing.

I wear cycling shorts/short leggings (depending on the length of the skirt). Mum always uses vaseline, re applied every few hours but I really hate the feel of it.

Another body glide convert here!

Problem is that it is sooo good, I forget I have this issue so forget to put it on. I have to keep it my tights drawer so I see it.

I second the Evans shorts (Think that’s where mine were from). Cutting tights is ok but they tend to roll up.
The gels are ok, but I did find have to keep reapplying. Good luck :)

I just rub a little vasaline on my inner thighs. They glide over each other like a dream. Actually think it makes me walk faster 🤔
