To ask for your creepy, unexplainable happenings

I know this type of thread has probably been done to death, but someone on fb shared a daily fail link yesterday about the creepy things children sometimes say. It got me thinking about strange goings on.

My eldest dd at about the age of 2 was sat playing in her room while I was putting washing away in my room. She suddenly started screaming so I ran in thinking she had hurt herself and she was wide eyed with fear. I asked her what was wrong and she said while pointing I should add " there's a man with black eyes and a hat holding a baby"

I've never walked out of a room so quickly ( backwards I should add so I didn't have to see the man) my cat also used to refuse to enter that room at all. Lots of other little things when she was pre school age.

For myself I kept smelling "death" I work in a hospital environment and do believe death or pre death to be more specific has a certain smell.
I was still living at home and for about a week everytime I walked in the front door I could smell death.
I still remember DM face everytime I announced it. Ha.
Towards the end of the week the smell was so strong. That evening I had a dream that I was in bed fast asleep and the whole house started to shake. I got up and looked out or the window to see an aeroplane about 12 feet away with people screaming at the window getting closer towards a block of flats ( there are no flats nearby)
The next day was September 11th.
I remember watching the news and thinking FUCKING hell. The dream.
Weirdly enough after that happened the smell of death went too. It still weirds me out when I think about it.
I also dreamt about the London/Birmingham riots a few years nack 2 days before they kicked off.

Do you have any odd stories to share?

I had a 'day vision' that I had 2 x dd with certain names - well after my dc days were over. Did indeed get divorced and had 2x dd and used the names.
After divorced again 'day vision' of a man by a certain name working in a certain shop and we got married. Did indeed meet said man (not in the shop but he worked in it) and we are married!!

Not scary but a little weird.

Every so often an acquaintance or old friend pops into my head and I think "oooo they are pregnant". It's always completely random, I haven't spoke to them in ages and haven't thought about them in ages.

Within a few weeks they announce their pregnancy!

It's happened about 6 times now.

I am so non eventful but following this with interest as I love these things!

My dd was about 18 months when she kept waking up in the night and yelling "the Normous man! there!" And would point behind me. It was chilling.
I think it could have been night terrors but even so, the thought of an "Enormous man" was bloody scary at 2am!

Menarefrommars....you're psychic.your dc may be too although children are far more open to spirit as they have no 'walls',this ability fades as they grow older unless they are psychic.
I know many people will slate this but it is what it is.

I just have super-creepy kids.
Best example is probably when my son bust into my bedroom and yelled “Mom there’s someone in my room and they’re not there but they are and THEY HAVE YOUR NAME WRITTEN ON THEM”.

Cheers for that, child, I’ll just never step foot in your bedroom ever again.

I've dreamed about my children before getting pregnant with them.

I keep a journal so my memory isn't filling in the gaps - they looked the same in my dreams as they did in life.

I dreamt the space shuttle disaster in 1986 the night before it happened... I was so horrified to see it on TV just as it was in my dream.

Also the night before Marco Simoncelli (MotoGP racer) very sadly died in 2011 I had a horrible feeling something dreadful was going to happen in the race that day.

We were once driving down a country lane in the dark and my DD who was around 4 at the time just calmly said, "we're all going to die"

My father has 3 nephews. Until I was nearly 20, I only knew/had met one of them - nephew A. Never even clapped eyes on the other 2. DF had not seen either in about 22 years. Driving up up the drive-way to the crem, the day of my uncle's funeral (their dad), there was a man walking ahead of us. I couldn't see his front view at all, just the back of a head and a suit. But I knew he was nephew B and insisted so to my dad. When we drove past him, and DF got a good look at the face, it was nephew B. No idea how I knew.

Came home from school once and warned my DM that someone was ill, I could feel it. An hr later my aunt rang from Spain to say my grandad had had a heart attack. He was elderly but in good health and we'd had no worries. I had not even had him in mind or considered that this might happen.

DM also once met a couple on holiday and said that they were utterly lovely but she couldn't bear to be around them- at the bar or pool etc- because she had an overwhelming feeling the husband was about to die. He was killed in a jet-ski accident the penultimate day of DMs holiday.

She is convinced DFs business partner came back to us after he died. She could smell his cigars, both parents heard his incessant humming and she found the shower in his bathroom (lived with us un his old age, no other family) turned on! She was home alone at the time.

DF is not v woo, but always used to assert that he was worried that Robin Williams would one day kill himself. Really, really insisted this and felt bad about feeling it but inexplicably worried. I can remember him saying this from about 2001/2, when I was 11.

DD aged 3-ish wandering round with doll: “Mummy, my baby wants something.” Then in ‘baby’ voice: “Want knife! Want cut your leg!”

I was reading a haunted Liverpool book.
(all short various stories.) My dd was playing and pottering around.Anyway I got on to a story about Bernie the broken neck.
Anyway my dd stops playing looks at me and says. "Mummy the man in your story broke his neck, didn't he." She was 2.7 at the time. She couldn't read and even if she could. How would she have known what I was reading.

My ds has said a few times that he dreams about things before they happen.

ABout 10 years ago I was living in quite a landmark building. I’d had some weird things happen to me in there and always got an odd feeling if I was in there alone. One day I was in a book shop and lifted a book up about haunted houses. It fell open onto a page about the place I was living in, with a story about a ghost of a girl crying on the stairs. I had to live there for about 2 more months. As you can imagine I bolted it up the stairs every time I came home

Wow some really odd stuff.

Glad it's not just me! Karmastar, I do often just get a 'feeling'. This means that occasionally when things happen which should suprise me, I don't feel suprised. My favourite saying seems to be " I thought so"

My grandfather died when I was 4.

Creeped the hell out of me. I asked him about half an hour later what he meant and he said "oh... yeah, I'm not supposed to tell you that" and ignored any further questions!

I get the weird feeling that someone I haven't seen in ages is pregnant and then they get in touch to say they are.

My dd (aged 2 at the time) told me there was an old lady called Delphine at our (upstairs) window!
She also used to stare blankly and point over my shoulder at something when there was nothing there.

I dreamed a plane crash before it happened.

Yeah I've also had dreams about natural disasters etc the day before they happen,quite used to it

Luckily my son (2) hasn't come out with anything weird, but I have heard voiced and noises from his room and then have sat and watched the video monitor before then hearing noises and hearing things move in my room

Lived in this house 18 years and from day one when I was 10,I told my mum something was in the house ... still believe it

I remember years ago buying my nana a Churchill-type nodding dog from the market (she loved the adverts) - I was only 13ish at the time. She had lung cancer, although they hadn't given us a timeframe for how long she'd be with us. Anyway I bought this nodding dog and the second I did I stood stock still and said to my friend "I shouldn't have bought this for her, she won't need it"

Sure enough when my friends dad dropped me off home, my mum came running out sobbing saying nana had died. Remember it like yesterday! I also often smelt cigarette smoke after she died (she was the only smoker in the family)

Also, currently pregnant with my first DC (girl) and have had two dreams both spaced years apart where she looked exactly the same - olive skin with greenish eyes and a mop of brown hair - I'm due in June so watch this space

The main thing that happens to me with total regularity is someone coming unexpectedly into my head and then me bumping into them hours or days afterwards, in an unconnected place.

It happened both this and last weekend, three people I hadn't seen in years and two of them connected.

I've been thinking a lot of a man who I was on a course with some years ago and know I'll now see him somewhere soon.

Bit outing but fuck it.

When I was pg with dd1 I knew without any doubt that she was a girl, although didn’t have it confirmed in scans. I’d always loved the name Daisy and knew that’s what I would call her. Was over at a friend’s house when she passed me a book and said ‘here, you can borrow this if you like’. It was a baby’s name book. I took it politely and started flicking through, but said ‘I already know what I’ll call her - Daisy’. The instant that I said that, a pressed daisy fell from the pages of the book into my lap. My friend was really confused about how it had got there, she’s not the flower pressing type and the book hadn’t been touched for years since her son was born.

I was having dinner in a restaurant with my husband, I was 8 months pregnant and there was a very distinguished looking older man and a woman sitting at another table. When they got up to leave they came over to me and the man told me I was having a girl and she would be born on the afternoon of the 18th of February. He introduced himself and told me his name and that he was a retired paediatrician. He had a very unusual name. Next day I told my mum about it and she told me that he had delivered me! My daughter was born at 16:11 on the 18th of February.

Not a story as such, but like flightchecker people often randomly pop into my thoughts, then soon afterward I bump into/hear news about them.
