I know this type of thread has probably been done to death, but someone on fb shared a daily fail link yesterday about the creepy things children sometimes say. It got me thinking about strange goings on.

My eldest dd at about the age of 2 was sat playing in her room while I was putting washing away in my room. She suddenly started screaming so I ran in thinking she had hurt herself and she was wide eyed with fear. I asked her what was wrong and she said while pointing I should add " there's a man with black eyes and a hat holding a baby" Confused

I've never walked out of a room so quickly ( backwards I should add so I didn't have to see the man) my cat also used to refuse to enter that room at all. Lots of other little things when she was pre school age.

For myself I kept smelling "death" I work in a hospital environment and do believe death or pre death to be more specific has a certain smell.
I was still living at home and for about a week everytime I walked in the front door I could smell death. Hmm
I still remember DM face everytime I announced it. Ha.
Towards the end of the week the smell was so strong. That evening I had a dream that I was in bed fast asleep and the whole house started to shake. I got up and looked out or the window to see an aeroplane about 12 feet away with people screaming at the window getting closer towards a block of flats ( there are no flats nearby)
The next day was September 11th.
I remember watching the news and thinking FUCKING hell. The dream.
Weirdly enough after that happened the smell of death went too. It still weirds me out when I think about it.
I also dreamt about the London/Birmingham riots a few years nack 2 days before they kicked off.

Do you have any odd stories to share?

My daughter 4 said "before I was born, I died" freaked me out a bit so haven't asked any more questions. I think she's an old soul anyway. ❤️️

emzaroo · 07/02/2018 21:51

I also truly believe I have a guardian Angel/ fairy. I'm very mindful and notice things clicking into place- e.g. I'm about to leave the house, I need a quick drink so pop back and notice I left my keys on the side.

OoohSmooch · 07/02/2018 21:51

I had a feeling my sisters baby was a girl (her and her DH wanted a surprise!). I did all the old wives tale things which also said it was a girl. One day me and my husband took a walk from a 'secret walks' book we had around Islington and Angel. At one point I looked down and there on the ground was one tiny piece of table confetti on an otherwise clear pavement...it said 'it's a girl!'. Obviously it's 50/50 but I still find it strange that I was so obsessed with knowing and I saw the one bit of table confetti! I now have a very beautiful & amazing niece (plus my own daughter who came along a few months later!).

TillyMint81 · 07/02/2018 21:54

lj I'm the same. I've done it with so many people. I just bide my time until the announce it. I've never been wrong with this feeling once.

flightchecker · 07/02/2018 21:58

A friend of a friend who is super psychic once came to my house for coffee and told me that we have really strong angel protection over our house as one of the dcs has an important purpose to achieve in life.

Now that may be utter bollocks but it's a lovely thought and cheers me when my youngest is being particularly strong willed. Smile

crazycatbaby · 07/02/2018 22:09

Not that crazy, but before I had my little boy I had a very vivid feeling dream, I dreamt I woke up (in my dream) and asked if I had had my baby, and asked if id had a c section. I was told yes, he's 7lb 14 oz. I ended up having to have an EMCS and he weighed 7lb 14oz Confused

Worldsworstcook · 07/02/2018 22:22

DS when he was 3 said in a 'Danny from The shining REDRUM' way "dead dog, dead dog" while petting the ndn's dog Zoe.

The next day Zoe died suddenly. It turned out she had a tiny cut which got infected and she died of blood poisoning.

We were creeped out to hell. Needless to say so were the ndn's!

MrsWineasaurus · 07/02/2018 22:26

Shouldn't of read this before going to bed 🙈

Lucisky · 07/02/2018 22:30

After a much loved dog died(at 15) a friend was round, and I said it was strange because I kept hearing her jump off her chair- she had 2 tags on her collar and they would jangle together. My friend said " I'm glad you said that, because I keep hearing it too."
The same dog, who I missed very much, came to me in a dream one night , licked my nose and 'smiled' at me (she was a constant grinner). I found it very comforting.

Pettyspaghetti · 07/02/2018 22:39

Mine is more of a ghosty one!
When I was living at my mums (a good 7 years ago) I’d wake up in the night and see a small black figure, around the same size as a 5 year old child. I saw this thing around 10 times overall. I’d wake up feeling terrified straight away, look in the corner of the room and sure enough little creep is there. I’d tried rubbing my eyes/looking away then looking back and it didn’t go away. One night I woke up and saw it bouncing on DHs back (he was lying on his stomach). Completely shit myself and hid my face under the covers. The next day DH woke up complaining of a bad back 😳

Apparently there was problems with that particular bedroom. Before I was in it, my older brothers shared it. One of them had to have the door closed so the “boy outside couldn’t see him” and the other one was told by the “boy” to fly down the stairs with him.

DaisyRenton18 · 07/02/2018 22:41

Not as odd or creepy as some of the ones mentioned, but I used to know a couple going through heartbreaking infertility issues, which had been going on for years. One night, I had a crystal clear dream that I attended a birthday party for her son, Sam (name changed) when he was a toddler. He was their only child. There was a Christmas tree in the lounge with birthday and Christmas presents around it. I woke utterly convinced of its truth and almost texted her about it in the morning. But I never told her, because it seemed cruel to mention it when she believed she'd never have children and she so desperately wanted one.
A year or so later, she announced a joyful pregnancy and gave birth to a girl in May.
Sadly, her daughter died after only a few weeks.

We then lost touch a bit as I moved away, but I found out through later that about 18 months after losing Amy, they had a boy & they called him Sam. He is a healthy child of about 7 now.

JosieSand · 07/02/2018 22:44

I'm psychic and so is my dad. We have great conversations Smile

DontFuckingSayIt · 07/02/2018 23:12

I also get the thinking about someone and then seeing them thing, seems it's not all that uncommon! I'm a bit disappointed!

Mine's not so much someone popping into my head, but I'll see someone and think it's someone I know, then realise it isn't. Then I will see the actual person shortly after. I know when it's going to happen now so I'm convinced it's not just a kind of confirmation bias.

beany5 · 07/02/2018 23:27

My best friend was murdered and I was really upset and in huge agonising pain at losing her in such a horrific way. It took a while for her remains to be found and for the killer to be caught and jailed. I was truly tortured at losing her and knowing the pain she must have gone through. About a year later I had a dream that I met her in a beautiful big white room. We talked for ages and she told me to stop worrying about her as she was ok now. We had a lovely time together and when I woke up I really believed that we had been together and I finally managed to deal with my pain and grief of losing her.

mehhh · 07/02/2018 23:29

Thank god I haven't hAd any of these things following because I enjoy them even thought they seriously creep me out!

thegreylady · 07/02/2018 23:37

When my grandson was 4 he asked me where I was was before I died.
I told him I hadn’t died yet! He replied,”Silly grandma everyone is dead before they are alive!”

rightknockered · 07/02/2018 23:41

I had a dream when my eldest was a baby, that a little girl was standing and smiling at me. She was with my then husband. I loved her and felt I knew her. Sure enough I now have a daughter, looks just the same. She is a proper daddy's girl, and has a happy disposition.
I recently had a dream that a man gave me food to eat and I felt comfortable with him. Fuck that, I have no intention of getting married/living with someone again. Hope it means nothing

rightknockered · 07/02/2018 23:46

I also had a dream that I was talking to a young man, at 2.30 he looked at he clock and said he had to go. My best friend gave birth at that exact time, to a boy with the same name. We were both freaked out. He is now 11, and looks like the boy in my dream.

rightknockered · 07/02/2018 23:48

I also get feelings about people, and sometimes see a glow around people. I do think I might be slightly psychic. I have very good intuition

Moananaom · 08/02/2018 00:10

I have dreams in random places and then see them in tv programs or films I’ve never seen before. One being a cliff/bridge type thing so hard to explain and not really a thing I’ve seen before. It was on a tv program a few weeks later down south.

Also I was awake at 12am ish last year and had a feeling to put the rolling news on. Which I never watch the news. It was the night of the Manchester bombings before they even knew it was a terror attack. That night I woke my mum up after seeing it and told her I know this is a terrorist attack. By morning it was confirmed.

coldcanary · 08/02/2018 00:22

One night when DS was about a year old he scared the living crap out of me. We were up fairly late, just me and him in the front room. The kitchen door in our old house was directly opposite the sofa we were sitting on, he had just had a drink (he was a bugger who never slept!) and was sitting on my knee.
Then he started playing peep with someone who wasn’t me... he was putting his hands over his eyes, taking them off and laughing at someone/thing around the kitchen door.
He also told me very calmly when he was about 8 that the man who came into his room at night with the noisy shoes was keeping him awake by talking to him. His room was on the second floor of the house with no way for anyone to get in.
He’s 18 now and remembers the man quite fondly, he wasn’t scared just cross that it was always late!
I may tease him a little that it was pre-emptive payback for him staying up late and waking me up when he gets home...

Fliggt · 08/02/2018 00:28

What's a day vision? Like a dream, but you're not asleep?

Fontella · 08/02/2018 00:48

What is interesting is how many children have spoken about past lives. This is something that fascinates me.

Not sure if you've come across this before - one of the most fascinating and compelling cases I've ever read about - the story of CARL EDON

If the video sparks your interest ... there's loads more out there to read about it ... it's incredibly well documented

To ask for your creepy, unexplainable happenings
gingergenius · 08/02/2018 00:52

@beany5 I had similar. My best friend died suddenly and tragically via freak accident and I couldn't come to terms with it all. She cane to me in a dream, (as did my nana and my uncle on separate occasions when they passed) - Very vivid, almost lucid dreams and completely unlike normal dreams, and afterwards I was able to gain closure. Very peculiar.

CapricornWithAUnicornHorn · 08/02/2018 03:21

NC for this post.

I can sense when my DH is due to be home. I just KNOW he is walking down the street and I ask DS 'where's daddy' and by the time he runs to the front door DH is walking down the path or putting his key in the lock.

I dream things before they happen

Déjà vu ALL of the time

I can smell when babies/children are ill. I remember one Thursday my friend brought her 8 month old DD round and I told my friend she needed to take Friday off work because her DD was coming down with something. Sunday morning I got a text 'you jinxed me DD has been ill all weekend I had to leave work Friday 2 hours after dropping her at nursery' I texted back 'your boss won't find out' he didn't, her colleagues covered for her.

I can tell when people are pregnant - sometime before they even know themselves. I have to see them though, either IRL or in a recent picture. I've predicted lots of celeb pregnancies while reading the OK mag and seeing red carpet pics.

I dreamt my kids gender, name and physical appearance each time I was pregnant with them. I remember with my first I told DH - were having a son called X and he has the most perfect beautiful lips ever. DH said ok. I said no DH you don't understand his lips are going to be so perfect. Our son called X was born and he has the most perfect lips. Literally so perfect they look like they have been sculpted. Everyone who came to visit pointed out his lips. Even now to this day people point out how lovely his lips are.

I'm really good at stopping minor accidents e.g kids falling over, glasses smashing, dropping things. I just seem to be at the best place to prevent a situation all of the time. I had my back to a chair speaking to family members at a birthday party. 3 year old niece was sat on the chair - we were back to back. No idea she was there. Nobody had seen her climb up. I was mid conversation, spun round and caught 3yo DN just as she was falling head first ready to smash her face into the stone fireplace.

I was 10 and a family friend visited with his girlfriend. I walked into the kitchen and heard the last of their conversation. Something about IVF. I obviously didn't know this but this couple had been trying for a baby for over 17 years. I asked my mum what's IVF she said don't eavesdrop. The family friends gf said we're going to the doctor and he's going to try and put a baby in my belly. I said it won't fit there are already four in there. They all laughed (the gf was quite chubby so they put it down to me being a bit cheeky). They had quads two identical boys two identical girls. All naturally conceived, pregnancy went well and they are still to this day convinced I'm psychic.

My mum described my future boyfriend to me when I was a teen. Said boy became my bf weeks later and I'm still with him to this day.

My nan has correctly predicted the sex of every unborn baby she has met. Every single one. As soon as someone tells her they're pregnant she will say 'congratulations your colour is pink/blue)'

A dying relating told everyone a dead relative was going to 'take me home' - said dying relative passed away not long after.

I had the EXACT same dream as a relative of mine.

I can sense quite quickly if a person is good or bad. I remember a NDN of my aunt and he was always invited round for BBQ and parties ect. I never liked him and just generally didn't trust him. I would never get my picture taken with him. Wouldn't accept a drink/snack he prepared for me. Everyone loved him, proper family man and seemed lovely to be around. He had a wife and daughter. They had been together forever. The perfect family. Always smiling. Loads of holidays and days out. Was sent to prison for attempted murder of his wife and daughter. Turns out he had been beating them both for years, she tried to leave him and he tried to kill them. Both have moved out of the country now so I don't know how they're doing.
