What do you eat for breakfast?

I don't want to diet. I'm so over dieting. But I want to make some lifestyle changes.

I've identified breakfast as my tricky meal of the day. If I don't eat well, the rest of the day often goes to pot.

So can I ask what you all eat for breakfast and does it keep you full until lunch??

Quaker oats and really enjoy them, friends do overnight oats and love it

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2018 20:25

The only time I don't feel hungry between breakfast and lunch is if the breakfast involves egg.

Taffeta · 15/01/2018 20:25

I eat fridge porridge

Get a jam jar - half fill it with oats. Add a mashed banana two tablespoons Greek plain yoghurt and some blueberries and raspberries. Top up with milk and shake

Leave in fridge for an hour or two

Yum yum - and no sugar

Wtfdoicare · 15/01/2018 20:26

Oats, the jumbo kind. I usually wait until mid morning to have it, and add some frozen berries, half water half milk, and no sugar, occasionally cinnamon. This'll keep me full until late lunchtime.

Porridge with either honey or maple syrup. Quick easy and does the job.

It does get a little repetitive, but it’s calories

midnightmisssuki · 15/01/2018 20:27

i eat cocopops which keeps me full, porridge also works well, sometimes i add a fruit coulis to it (or golden syrup).

Jaygee61 · 15/01/2018 20:27

An oatibix, half a sliced banana, blueberries, raspberries, sprinkling of seeds and cinnamon, skimmed milk. I am usually hungry by lunchtime.

etap · 15/01/2018 20:28

Croissant, warm with butter and jam. Fucking delicious. Often have a fifth one.

TeddyIsaHe · 15/01/2018 20:28

Either cashew butter on seeded toast or overnight oats with Greek yogurt, almond milk, raspberries and honey. Poached eggs on the weekend.

Mamabear14 · 15/01/2018 20:29

The ONLY thing that fills me up is leaving it til about 8.30-9am and then having some granola with full fat natural yogurt. Not loads, but it's so filling. Even stuff like weetabix that's supposed to fill me up doesn't, and it just buggers up my IBS.

Sparklingbrook · 15/01/2018 20:29

I can't do porridge at all. I don't like the texture.

OversizedCardigan · 15/01/2018 20:29

Greek yoghurt, blob of raspberry jam and toasted mixed seeds.

lljkk · 15/01/2018 20:29

I have nothing if I'm not hungry. I wait until I'm hungry.
Today I had some lentils, kidney beans, salsa & cheese about 2 hrs after I got out of bed.
Oh... and chocolate. Love chocolate in the mornings!

Allthewaves · 15/01/2018 20:30

I have

Porridge made with coconut milk

Hm granola with no sugar, coconut yogurt with no sugar/sweetners and an apple (angeliquepanagos.com/sweet-potato-cinnamon-granola/) - it so filling and rich that you only need small amount of yogurt and granola.

2 scrambled eggs with mushrooms

LizzieSiddal · 15/01/2018 20:30

If I’m hungry I eat poached egg with wholemeal toast then a banana.

If I’m not hungry I have natural greek yoghurt, a sprinkle of seeds/nuts and some fruit.

I always have breaskfast because if I don’t I’ll eat a lot of rubbish later on.

Eifla · 15/01/2018 20:34

Breakfast biscuits & a Naked bar.

Probably not the best, but ten minutes extra in bed trumps my desire to make something proper, so I need a breakfast able to be eaten en-route to, or at, work.

ArabellaHorseyHorsey · 15/01/2018 20:34

Hmmmnnnn. Bacon sandwich!

tarheelbaby · 15/01/2018 20:35

Usually: 1 egg plain omelette: beaten with pinch of salt/pepper, cooked in butter (marge is just plastic) and a single slice of toast, generously buttered. We rotate between granary, white and multi-seed breads but I just have whatever's going. Maybe a square or 2 of dark chocolate.

If I feel like I overdid it the night before, I have an apple, otherwise I develop a crashing headache.

Fekko · 15/01/2018 20:35

Cereal with prunes (I like them) and some almonds.

PantPlot · 15/01/2018 20:35

During the week it depends- if it's a day when I have to be in the office at stupid o clock I have a nut butter protein shake, made up the night before.
On the other days it's scrambled eggs and turkey bacon. Both meals keep me full up until lunch, often beyond.

At the weekend it might be toast or bagels with banana and nut butter, croissants or bacon and eggs.

BikeRunSki · 15/01/2018 20:37

Plain omelette or scrambled eggs
Veggie sausage, egg, beans
Overnight oats/fridge porridge
Wholemeal Toast and wholemeal peanut butter
Cous cous, banana and vanilla yoghurt
Porridge
Whatever junk is kicking about in the biscuit tin or bread bin

This morning I wasn’t working, so I made us all pancakes.

Ridingthegravytrain · 15/01/2018 20:38

Buckwheat pancakes made with buckwheat flour, egg, almond milk, cinnamon and baking powder. Filling and easy and surprisingly tasty

wonkylegs · 15/01/2018 20:41

Cinnamon Porridge & dried fruit usually apricots or raisins

Or scrambled egg on brown toast

Or brown toast with crunchy peanut butter

All have become a habit after I had gestational diabetes and these were the suggested starts to the day.
They tend to keep me going and stop me snacking.

theaveragewife · 15/01/2018 20:43

Small handful of nuts and a piece of fruit at my desk with loads of water

halfwitpicker · 15/01/2018 20:43

Porridge makes me hungry so I eat scrambled eggs, natural yog and low sugar compote. Lots of coffee, black, one milk.

Sometimes I have melba toast and peanut butter, or an English muffin with peanut butter.
