What do you eat for breakfast?

I don't want to diet. I'm so over dieting. But I want to make some lifestyle changes.

I've identified breakfast as my tricky meal of the day. If I don't eat well, the rest of the day often goes to pot.

So can I ask what you all eat for breakfast and does it keep you full until lunch??

At the moment coffee and Quality Street. But in my defence the coffee is decaff.

Asthenia · 15/01/2018 21:02

Porridge with coconut milk, blueberries, banana and walnuts :)

AskingForAnEnemy · 15/01/2018 21:02

If I'm going to work then I usually have porridge with chocolate spread and peanut butter mixed into it, because it keeps me full til my first break.

I'm in not at work I don't have breakfast, knowing I can eat when I want makes me not feel hungry, if I'm at work and know I can't eat for 2.5 hours I start getting really hungry.

Fruit (usually berries or an apple) with a bit of natural yogurt, and then either a slice of German-style rye bread or some variety of Quorn (cocktail sausages, ham, chicken-style pieces )

MrsJBaptiste · 15/01/2018 21:05

Srambled eggs
Bacon & eggs
Sausages
Tinned fish
Fruit & protein shake

tealandteal · 15/01/2018 21:09

Ready brek, I don't like the texture of porridge. I find this is the only thing that keeps me full, currently breastfeeding so it helps with supply I think

robertaplumkin · 15/01/2018 21:09

x1 poached egg on toast and spinach

or (when I make it for the baby i have it too) i blitz the spinach and scramble it with an egg (on toast)

InsomniacAnonymous · 15/01/2018 21:12

I can't eat unless I'm hungry so breakfast may well be eaten around noon, but it's usually 2 slices of Warburtons Farmhouse white bread, with a smear of low fat Flora and M&S ruby red grapefruit marmalade with a huge mug of v. strong Coffee (Aldi Java Ground). It's not the best choice, so I'm not recommending it, but it is the honest answer to your question. I then don't want anything until about 4.30-ish, when I have an apple and yogurt.

Green smoothie: coconut water, kale, lemon juice, an apple, linseeds & any other random fruit that needs using up

calzone · 15/01/2018 21:14

I love breakfast.

Porridge
Overnight oats
Crunchy bran
Grape Nuts

Today I had sausages, bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast

expatinscotland · 15/01/2018 21:15

Nothing. I abhor breakfast.

Cliveybaby · 15/01/2018 21:16

Used to be : 2 slices of brown toast with chocolate spread.
Now: scrambled eggs with mushrooms and sometimes chorizo.
Have lost a stone so far doing low carb!

charliebear78 · 15/01/2018 21:16

Either a boiled egg with wholemeal toast.
Or Golden Syrup Microwave Porridge
Sometimes if everyone else is eating croissants in front of me-then one of those with butter and jam!
Going to give overnight Oats and Bircher Museli a try.

sabs22 · 15/01/2018 21:17

High protein, keeps me full. Eggs, skyr yogurt with fruit, porridge with flavoured protein powder, protein shake/smoothie bulked up with fruit.....

pinkbraces · 15/01/2018 21:19

I eat breakfast about 10 ish at my desk - normally cottage cheese, chopped salad veg and ryvita thins. Delicious

ClaudiaNaughton · 15/01/2018 21:20

Porridge with blueberries and half a banana sliced then poached egg and freshly squeezed OJ and coffee.

Cherrycokewinning · 15/01/2018 21:22

Green smoothie

Or toast with peanut butter

Or fruit salad and yogurt

Or hard boiled eggs

With an expresso or cappuccino

I’m no more or less full no matter what I eat. DH makes scrambled eggs with 5 eggs each and their doesn’t fill me up anymore than toast does

BobbinThreadbare123 · 15/01/2018 21:24

Porridge with honey.

Greek yoghurt with fruit and granola.

Granola type cereal with almond milk and fruit.

Boiled egg with soldiers.

humblesims · 15/01/2018 21:25

A bowl of porridge (with a bit of sugar) and a cup of tea at about 8am keeps me going til lunch time with no need for a snack. Slow release energy.

OhPuddleducks · 15/01/2018 21:25

I have Greek yoghurt with walnuts, pistachios and pecans (and a few hazel nuts if I have them in) and runny honey. Yum! The nuts really do the job.

ChoudeBruxelles · 15/01/2018 21:26

Mostly overnight oats or sometimes baked oats.

Jaimx86 · 15/01/2018 21:29

Boiled egg and brocolli on weekdays, and scrambled eggs and fish and veg on weekends. Love my eggs.

noeffingidea · 15/01/2018 21:30

If I've been swimming I'll usually have (at 11ish, so more 'brunch' really) -
Beans on toast with a fried egg
Beans on toast with grated cheese
Cheese on toast
Fish finger sandwich
Tinned mackerel in tomato sauce

At the weekend (no swimming) something lighter, depending on what is in. Think it was porridge yesterday.

Mum2jenny · 15/01/2018 21:34

Never eat breakfast if I'm going to work, eat a light lunch then a decent meal at night. At weekends I'll eat a brunch around 11am then nothing till night, so it's around 2 meals a day max. And I could do with losing some weight!!

citybzg · 15/01/2018 21:42

I have boiled eggs, or scrambled or omelette 4 days a week. The other 3 usually just a couple of bits of fruit and a cereal bar on the move.

I am laughing a bit at all the pp's who have 1 egg, boiled, poached or omelette. I need 3 or I don't see the point In making them Blush
