What do you eat for breakfast?

I don't want to diet. I'm so over dieting. But I want to make some lifestyle changes.

I've identified breakfast as my tricky meal of the day. If I don't eat well, the rest of the day often goes to pot.

So can I ask what you all eat for breakfast and does it keep you full until lunch??

I never understand the concept of eating half a banana.

careerandfam · 15/01/2018 20:44

Natural yoghurt with granola, a handful of seeds and a banana and some berries on top - usually keeps me going till an early lunch!

McPie · 15/01/2018 20:45

I always have 2 eggs (dry fried, soft or hard boiled or scrambled) and 2 slices of gluten free seeded toast with lactose free spread. I have ran a half marathon on that and a banana more than once so tend to stick to what I know works for me.

I'm doing 16:8 so I don't eat anything till midday. I found the best way to keep the hunger pains at bay was to not eat anything at all. If I eat breakfast I find I'm ravenous for the rest of the day.

DH eats the other half.

Winter,: Porridge/readybrek and 2 tangerines. Summer: large fruit salad and diet yoghurt. On a rare day off I have 2 poached eggs on toast and OJ. On a Saturday i have a croissant and nice coffee. Am a bit chubby but I don't think it's breakfasts fault.

phoenix1973 · 15/01/2018 20:48

It varies.
Porridge
Omelette
Bowl of beans
Cheese toastie
Banana and yoghurt
Wholemeal toast with pb or marmite
We had pancakes with real maple syrup on Sunday
All of these keep me full u till lunch.

QueenofChristmas2018 · 15/01/2018 20:51

Depends what I fancy, some days I have porridge with fruit, today a jacket potato with leftover bolagnaise at around 10am, then nothing till dinner time at around 6pm. I see it as there’s no rule that it has to be a traditional breakfast food :)

Genevieva · 15/01/2018 20:51

2 slices of brown toast, butter and marmalade.

I am a size 6-8 so I have never had to diet, but it works for me.

Eat at mealtimes and not between meals. ideally eat meals with other people.

mammmamia · 15/01/2018 20:52

I always have wholemeal toast and peanut butter at 7 ish, and a coffee a couple of hours later and that keeps me full until lunch time.

LaurieMarlow · 15/01/2018 20:52

1 boiled egg and whole meal toast. I occasionally deviate and have toast and peanut butter, but only occasionally.

overnightangel · 15/01/2018 20:52

1 x tuna steak
2 x poached eggs
Litre of water

overnightangel · 15/01/2018 20:54

Lost 2 stone in last 12 months doing that, load up on veg (peas broccoli cauliflower sprouts) on evening

Fruitcocktail6 · 15/01/2018 20:54

Either a bagel with cream cheese or porridge. I found a new trick recently of adding whisked egg white to cooked porridge then warming it on the hib again. Adds protein and keeps me full.

prettymess · 15/01/2018 20:56

Porridge. Own brand stuff. Find Quaker Oats too fine. With sliced banana on top. Every morning, whatever the season.

TheFrendo · 15/01/2018 21:02

Nothing, I am not hungry first thing.

Rudgie47 · 15/01/2018 21:02

All sorts of exciting things like; toast and marmalade, croissants, porridge with banana, banana by itself, porridge by itself, biscuits. Coffee and a drink of water.

MessyBun247 · 15/01/2018 21:02

Overnight oats - porridge oats, frozen fruit and full fat milk. Quick, healthy and filling. Sometimes add a dollop of full fat Greek yoghurt.

Eggs - poached or scrambled. With whole meal toast and real butter. Sprinkle of grated mature cheddar on top. Salt and pepper. Lovely Smile

I’m a size 8 and always have been. I try and eat food that keeps my blood sugar stable so I don’t have crashes and reach for shite.

Lisette40 · 15/01/2018 21:02

greek yoghurt, oat bran and blueberries/raspberries - mixed and left overnight.

Liking your choices wonky - might try some!

Mxyzptlk · 15/01/2018 21:02

Mashed banana + 2 oatibix + ground almonds or seed cereal topper + raisins (soaked overnight usually) + almond milk or soya milk.

Porridge + yeast flakes + almond milk or soya milk

That's my most usual breakfasts.

Eggs! Or porridge.

I make the egg muffin that they did on eat well for less. Melt a bit of butter in a mug, crack in an egg, splash of milk and a bit of grated cheese (I keep some cheese I've already grated in the freezer so I don’t have to faff around). Cook on full power for between 1/1.5 minutes and then eat in a whole meal English muffin. Tasty and quick and easy.
