What do you eat for breakfast?

I don't want to diet. I'm so over dieting. But I want to make some lifestyle changes.

I've identified breakfast as my tricky meal of the day. If I don't eat well, the rest of the day often goes to pot.

So can I ask what you all eat for breakfast and does it keep you full until lunch??

3 Scrambled eggs with a bit of cheese.

EggsonHeads · 16/01/2018 07:05

Food usually, but sometimes naughty children.

GinSolvesEverything · 16/01/2018 07:57

Coffee. I make a strong latte around 9am which keeps me going to lunchtime if I had a big dinner.

If I’m hungry, then my preference is grainy toast (vogels for those who know what it is!) with avocado and tomato and a grind of salt. Occasionally poachies but I don’t normally have time for that.

I can not fathom all the sugar / sweet things like fruit that everyone seems to have. I can’t even consider anything sweet until very late in the day.

This morning I'm having peanut butter and sliced banana on toast with a black coffee.

Other days it will be porridge, or yoghurt with berries, or just a banana or plain toast depending on my mood.

Gubbins · 16/01/2018 08:33

If I’m working at home then one slice of toast with honey/marmite/marmalade. If I’m cycling to work then it has to be peanut butter on the toast or I’ll be ravenous by 10:30 and buying cake to go with my mid morning coffee.

On sundays we have something big as one child has a sporty activity over lunchtime, so it’ll be a bacon sandwich, or scrambled eggs, or waffles or pancakes with fruit and maple syrup.

I don't eat first thing but around 10am I have two boiled eggs (every day). At about 2pm I have 1/2 a yogurt mixed in with berries and an evening meal about 6pm (with no carbs).

Fekko · 16/01/2018 09:07

That sounds quite nice (and egg yolk is good for your eyes).

Pinklady1981 · 16/01/2018 09:12

Bagel thin+15g peanut butter.
Fat free greek yogurt, fruit and a sprinkle of grape nut cereal.
2 weetabix,hot milk,banana and 1tsp honey.
Banana pancakes. Just 1 banana mashed mixed with a beaten egg, makes around 4 mini pancakes+1tsp honey on top.

charliebear78 · 16/01/2018 20:19

Pinching the banana pancakes!-sounds yum

Polarbear46 · 16/01/2018 20:22

Toast. Thats it. 2 slices

n0ne · 16/01/2018 20:24

Muesli (basic no added sugar jobby, just oats, seeds, nuts, raisins) with an entire apple or pear chopped up and chucked on top

Plenty to keep you full til lunchtime

Argeles · 16/01/2018 20:29

Avocados and tomatoes on wholemeal toast, with salt, black pepper and lots of olive oil.

Clareel · 16/01/2018 21:06

Pint of water with 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar and a strong coffee with double cream.

liz70 · 16/01/2018 21:10

I'm dieting atm; I usually have wheaties with skimmed milk, a low fat yoghurt and coffee with sweeteners and skimmed milk.

Girlwiththearabstrap · 16/01/2018 21:24

Overnight oats with Greek yoghurt/fruit etc
Eggs with a bit of grated cheese
Avocado on toast
Cashew butter on toast

ziggy715 · 16/01/2018 21:34

I have either scrambled eggs with a side of berries, or wholemeal toast with peanut butter and sliced banana. Both keep me full for ages.

Mary1935 · 16/01/2018 21:37

I have 3 Weetabix, or my sons left over bacon scraps in a sandwich, two slices of toast or 2 boiled eggs with toast. I also need two cups of tea before I leave the house!!!

Growuphelen · 16/01/2018 21:39

I avoid wheat so I have wheat free porridge, wheat free granola or muesli with skimmed milk, fat free greek yogurt and whatever fruit I have - raspberries, chopped mango, banana, pear. Days off, i walk the dog first eating some fruit on the way then have griddled bacon, eggs and tomatoes with a slice of wheat free toast and butter around 11 ish.
I am about 4 stone overweight because I go to pot the rest of the day.

notacooldad · 16/01/2018 21:44

Greek yogurt with either mango, blueberries or banana.
Coffee.

AnnabelleLecter · 16/01/2018 21:45

Greek yogurt with a dollop of lemon curd. Teacake or raisin bread and butter.
Orange, small banana and a few blueberries.

PinkHeart5914 · 16/01/2018 21:46

Depends what I fancy

Porridge is a favourite at the moment with some berries
Beans on toast
Omelette
Special k
Weetabix
Fruit and yoghurt
3 eggs scrambled with wholemeal toast

foxyloxy78 · 16/01/2018 21:54

Oats so simple satchet and coffee

WineAndTiramisu · 16/01/2018 22:01

2 slices of toast with butter and marmite

However to stay full until lunchtime, the only thing that works for me is a protein shake!

ILoveDolly · 16/01/2018 22:04

I love porridge with honey in the winter and otherwise bircher museli soaked in Apple juice with yoghurt and berries.
But I'm usually in a hurry so grab some coffee and marmalade toast.

AdoraBell · 16/01/2018 22:15

Yoghurt, natural, fruit and home made granola most days. The fruit varies through the year, apple or banana now and soft fruit or berries in the summer.

In really cold weather I’ll have porridge with frozen blueberries on top. I defrost them in the microwave for a few seconds.

I use a porridge that takes 6 minutes rather than instant stuff that moves through the stomach too quickly. DH makes Bircher muesli, occasionally.
