Yankee candles!

Rainatnight · 12/01/2018 13:18

Diptique

WeeM · 12/01/2018 13:21

Shearers- burn really well and not too expensive.

MaxPepsi · 12/01/2018 13:22

Partylite are my favourite, readily available and affordable.

However I go to tk maxx/Homesense to pick up random jar candles that are massively reduced.

Yankee Are very popular but are pretty shit once you've used other brands.

LyraPotter · 12/01/2018 13:23

My absolute favourite are Jo Malone (pomegranate noir especially) but they are very expensive. I also love the anthropologie ones that come in ceramic jars, my favourite is pumpkin soufflé.

The Aldi dupes for jo malone smell great but aren't the strongest - I do like them though. I also like some of the Yankee candle ones but make sure you have a good sniff first because they can be very hit and miss.

Also try made by yassmin, she does candles based on perfume scents and they are lovely!

Sallystyle · 12/01/2018 13:24

The White company. I also like the odd WoodWick candle.

Yankee are pretty crappy.

Ive been using yankees for years but I think something's changed? They're more sooty than they used to be and their scents aren't as natural.

A large Yankee candle lasts me 6 weeks, I like to burn a candle every evening once ds is in bed and we've sat down for the evening so it has to be big!

Jo Malone - pomegranate noir Halo

AnnoyedByAlfieBear · 12/01/2018 13:25

I like Partylite or plain old Ikea.

kaytee87 · 12/01/2018 13:26

I've been thinking about jo malone... are they worth the money?

OP posts:
Littlebitshort · 12/01/2018 13:26

Yankee candles for me but i never burn them because they are a little bit expensive Blush

Chanelprincess · 12/01/2018 13:26

Jo Malone nectarine blossom and honey and the Neom range

kaytee87 · 12/01/2018 13:26

None - had to have my whole kitchen screbbed and repainted after I rubbed a mark on the wall. This produced a clean patch in the thin layer of wax that covered the whole room!! They look and smell lovely but make a mess

evilharpy · 12/01/2018 13:26

Much prefer essential oils and a diffuser.

Littlebitshort · 12/01/2018 13:27

I burn the Ikea candles an often get through a back of 100 tea lights in a very short time!

Snowysky20009 · 12/01/2018 13:27

Jo Malone:- pomegranate noir and nectarine blossom & honey

I use these too but love the cosy feel of a scented candle in the evening.

I’ve had White Company, Jo Malone, Neom and diptyque over the years, but my current favourite is St Eval. Under a tenner and smells lovely.

AnnieOH1 · 12/01/2018 13:31

Proper Yankees rather than their Simply Home range that seems to be stocked everywhere. Yes they're a little more expensive but hold much better fragrance.

kaytee87 · 12/01/2018 13:34

I've been using proper yankees @AnnieOH1 I think they've gone downhill which is a shame as I love the colours and names of them.

Marmalade of London - Pomegranate and Pear

True Grace - Seashore

M&S - Grapefruit and Ginger

BuggerLumpsAnnoyed · 12/01/2018 13:34

I've just got my first jo malone candle and it's lovely. Looove the white company although the one I got for Christmas is almost finished Blush

creepingbuttercupdrivesmemad · 12/01/2018 13:36

The recycled Candle Company do a small but fab range and are an up and coming small business. AND the candles use recycled wax so you would win ethical points too!
