Never got the fuss with yankee.

To the point I started making my own, as have never been able to find one that actually smells or doesn't cost a fortune.

I hate JM pomegranate noir. Markes me feel sick and headachy.

Sainsbury's fig leaf and elderberry is lovely, as is Aldi notes of jasmine and geranium. I really love Lily Flame rose petals.

Diptyque every time - they really smell and last. I love them. I love Chene, Opopanax and Myrrhe.

St Eval are a great budget option. Inspiritus, Joy, Sea Salt, Tranquility - all lovely.

Sand & Fog are worth buying - great smells, great projection. I had havana nights and midnight - gorgeous.

Aquiesse have the some of the most beautiful smelling candles ever - their frankincense one was incredible.

I bought loads of the Aldi ones and they smell of nothing. I'd rather spend more money and burn better candles less often. The same with candles from D&W Home, Bahoma, Wax Lyrical... I have tried so many and been disappointed. I really don't like Yankee as they always seem to smell sweet or fake.

I buy fragrance dust from perfume parlour and use in an electric burner - that really works. I have oud lime on at the moment and it is sublime.

Oh forgot Neom - they are wonderful.

Frederic Malle’s Jurassic Flower is a completely unique and intoxicating scent. It’s diptyque price range but I literally light it for 15-20 min at a time and it lasts all evening.

I've bought 2 Yankee candles and neither of them smell. I've also bought the Aldi ones and they are amazing.

Jo Loves - Jo Malone's new(ish) brand. Not very timely but the Christmas Trees candle is incredible. Jo Malone original brand is now owned by Estée Lauder after Jo sold it (and bitterly regretted it). It's still lovely of course.

My house is L shaped. Currently burning a DW Home Candy Cane in one ‘side’ and Mrs Todd Winter Fireside in the other Smile

Also got an essential oil diffuser going in the conservatory where the litter tray is Envy and while we sleep I put another on in our bedroom with eucalyptus and lavender oils.

northern brand Melt have a great range - loved their christmas candle but they also do sample boxes etc for the uninitiated
