For no reason.

Mine is Wings by Little Mix and I don’t really know why. I’m not even a fan of them, although they’re very cute. I’ve just listened to to the song and the tears are flowing. My DP is Hmm.
The other is God Only Knows but I understand why that would make me cry.

Anyway. what songs are guaranteed to make you have good cry.

Fields of Gold - Sting version or Eva Cassidy, it doesn’t matter. 😭😭😭

The Leningrad symphony by Shostakovich, specifically 16-19 minutes. Read the story of its premiere.

landgirl1 · 02/12/2017 09:15

Heaven is a place nearby by Lena Marlena is a beautiful song about loss that both comforts & makes me sob

LemonShark · 02/12/2017 09:15

Little Mix are a shit manufactured pop band but wings is very stirring, the chord progression makes it sound all triumphant and hopeful and the lyrics about 'flying' and self esteem and whatever are the sort anyone can relate to. I'm not a fan but I can completely understand it being emotional.

Also road salt by pain of salvation.

LemonShark · 02/12/2017 09:16

And Steven Wilson "insurgentes"

Amanduh · 02/12/2017 09:16

Seven Years. I don't know why but the lyrics just get to me! And Mr Bojangles.

Queen - who wants to live forever
That is quite a sad song.

Bob Marley - sun is shining
I have no idea why.

ScaryMonstersAndSuperCreeps · 02/12/2017 09:17

To Where You Are by Josh Groban and I Find Your Love by Beth Nielsen Chapman remind me of my little Jack who lived for 2 hours also Stay Another Day by E17 which was no 1 when he was born. Sad

Billons, but She Used To Be Mine from Waitress makes me cry even just thinking about it!

In terms of pop songs, So Close by Jon McClaughlin always makes me cry as it reminds me of a time when circumstances meant that now-DH and I couldn't be together.

Flinkyflonk · 02/12/2017 09:18

Time to Say Goodbye - Andre Bocelli and Sarah Brightman

Wind Beneath My WIngs by Bette Midler. Used to play it in a band I was in, and I was head down sobbing each and every time.

Wherever you Are by the Military Wives choir.

Actually, I'm a sap and can cry at lots of songs.

SeraphinaDombegh · 02/12/2017 09:23

I know it's corny, but Abba's 'Slipping Through My Fingers". I'm a wreck by the chorus!

PidgeonSpray · 02/12/2017 09:24

Letter To A John.
By Ani DiFranco.

"I was 11 years old, he was as old as my dad, and he took something from me, I didn't even know that I had"

MarthasHarbour · 02/12/2017 09:24

Someone like you and Feel my love both by Adele. I can't get to the end of them without sobbing. I had to pull over in the hard shoulder of the A1 once to compose myself.

Both songs remind me of my closest friend who passed away from Cancer Sad
