To ask what song makes you cry

For no reason.

Mine is Wings by Little Mix and I don’t really know why. I’m not even a fan of them, although they’re very cute. I’ve just listened to to the song and the tears are flowing. My DP is Hmm.
The other is God Only Knows but I understand why that would make me cry.

Anyway. what songs are guaranteed to make you have good cry.

Ah, there's a Criminal Minds episode S4/E17 where Hodges - My Side of the Story plays. Left me with tears rolling down my face. I've moved heaven and earth to find a copy but the best I've done is a YouTube rip sadly :(

Edelweiss from Sound of Music makes me ugly cry every time I hear it. It reminds me of my father and even though he alive and well, I don't get to see him often and I miss him so.

There are many others too - I'm a pathetic sod very much in touch with my emotional side Blush

Sarah McLaughlin - Angel. No idea why but it gets me every time

After having the Christmas CD on when wrapping the presents on Sunday, I have discovered that 'Oh Holy Night' can make me dissolve in a nanosecond.

And "the Little Boy that Santa Claus Forgot" - I had to make DH skip it when it came on.....

I'm having a really tough time at the moment. I am breaking down at everything but these are the days by Queen reduced me to a full on breakdown yesterday 😓

Mollie85 · 12/12/2017 10:08

Minesa - same. And I’m not particularly religious, but the melody is amazing.

Theremustbe - sorry to hear of your hard time and I hope things soon get better Flowers

Read All About It -Emilie Sande...had forgotten about this one but heard it on the radio yesterday and it made me cry just like it used to 💔

A few more;

Holding back the years by Simply Red. Lovely song.

Cruel Summer by Bananarama. Just reminds me of a time so long ago.

@Uokbing mine is any of the moana songs that feature her Gran, particularly the one where the she swims under her as the ray.
The character reminds me so much of my own Gran and I'm very aware that my time with her is now limited.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 17/12/2017 23:07

Queen-love of my life. Saw them and Adam Lambert on Friday and when Brian May sung it there was tears.. Though not just from me. Beautiful performance

Snowflakesandsparkle · 17/12/2017 23:21

Kingston Town - UB40

Reminds me of DM who passed away a few years ago. I don't even get to the point where they start singing.

MrsBonato · 17/12/2017 23:38

Jon Secada - just another day. Reminds me of when my amazing step dad left us.

Kate Bush - running up that hill especially the lines 'and if I only could, I'd make a deal with God and I'd get him to swap our places' I had an abortion, I regretted it immensely and those lines summed it up for me. Still get a lump now.

Jason Mraz - I won't give up. A while after the abortion when I was incredibly fortunate to be given a chance again at having a baby this song was around and despite all people telling me I shouldn't go ahead, I heard this song and again it just makes sense of the situation...and I didn't give up.

Ellie Goulding - how long will I love you. For a long time I was convinced I would lose my son as a punishment for my past choice and this would remind me of it all.

Brian Eno - Spinning Away
