Not content with fat shaming his son and using the word “retarded” because he is an arsehole. His only worry about his son is that he might grow up far. He isn’t worried if this happens to his daughter as “there are uses for fat women”.

QueenThisTime - you're right, GC is obsessed with his own weight and his family's - clearly because he's a narcissist who imagines it reflects badly on him if his wife/ kids are fat.

If you look at his wife Esther's Instagram she seems slightly obsessed with losing weight which I'm sure is to do with that vile article he wrote in Mother and Baby about her not losing her baby weight. On another note, why a magazine which prides on being supportive to mothers would want to publish this is beyond me. I can only imagine the man is a horrible bully in the Weinstein vein who tends to get what he wants career wise.Truly horrible vain little man.

It's such a shame, some of his writing is funny, but littered with barely disguised hate at the world and anger. Imagine having to live with him, someone like him loving you. I really liked his wife's blogs. But I could not get past an educated man of the world using the r word. He can't claim ignorance as an excuse. Very sad

It's a shame with Julie Myerson, because everything she and her husband say about their son seems really problematic, and I really feel sorry for the kid.

I really like her novels - even though they generally contain a) a mother who is irresistible to some guy she's not married to, with whom she has an affair despite having a really quite nice husband, who is remarkably tolerant of all this, probably because he knows how irresistible she is and b) a quite unpleasant, taciturn, unloveable teenage son.

Him and his vile wife, what a pair of mean and nasty snobs. I remember an article where he went on about his wife having no business being ‘fat’ only months after giving birth. Her musings are no better. Arseholes.

Yes, he sounds like a complete arsehole. Wouldn't have a job in the public eye if it weren't for his dad, no doubt. I also find his sister unbearably smug and annoying, another case of nepotism no doubt (and her husband - what a smugfest it must be in their house).

That's because these people aren't journalists. If you substitute the words 'Giles Coren' and ' The Times' for 'Shona Sibary' and ' Daily Mail' you'd see that they are exactly the same. They exploit their families for money because they have nothing else to write about

I'm chubby. I know it is not healthy. No one wants their kid to be fat. I get that. But shaming fat people??? and no parent in their right mindl wants their kid to be an addict or a womanising asshole either!

I have nothing against alcoholics or addicts. Some of them are decent people. But sometimes thier illnesses can cause them to do violent, selfish things. When did you hear of a fat person killing someone by "driving under the influence of chocolate?" I really do not get why addiction to food is seen as worse than any other addiction or disorder.
