He can’t be blamed for being a shit writer. He had no training for the job after all...Daddy just lumped him with that job...presumably in the absence of anything else he wasn’t qualified for.

Just as you think he can’t get more offensive, he does. I’m appalled at the nastiness. His poor son. I think he thinks he’s being clever.

The underlying message is that historically we equate larger babies with wealth and health - and we still do this - go to any baby and toddler group and you hear centiles, weights and measures trotted out long with how much PFB has eaten or drunk that day. Questions we ask "is he a good eater?" translation: how much does he scoff? How much does he weigh? This is all competitive parenting at its worst.

So whilst I've never heard of this author, he's making the correlation that fat overfed babies are generally going to turn into obese adults and become a strain on the NHS because their eating patterns are laid down in the womb.

Anyway if his kids read that when they are older then he will presumably use the money he made from the article towards the therapy they might well need.

What a shame for his poor son who may read this one day. What if his he finds this when he is a self-conscious teenager? It's not funny or clever, it's just offensive.

Ugh, I think you're probably right.

I'm not that keen on Victoria either. Granted, both she and Giles can string a sentence together, but they're massively privileged people who have got where they are by virtue of connections. If you look at what she says and does, Victoria is very conventional, self-serving, and pro the status quo.
