My diet gets easier! Rarely eat chocolate now all the best stuff has gone to pot!

00100001 · 07/11/2017 07:01

Nutella is rank anyway

Elllicam · 07/11/2017 07:02

Not Nutella too Sad

PrivateParkin · 07/11/2017 07:03

Oh no, really?! Sigh. Also vanilla what happened to chocolate oranges?? I haven't had one for a while.

VanillaSugar · 07/11/2017 07:04

Do you remember the advert when they tried to market it as a healthy breakfast spread? "It contains cocoa, milk powder and hazelnuts."....... yeah, and palm oil and a tonne of sugar. Angry The only saving grace was that it did taste heavenly but if they're mucking about with this as well, then what's the point of it?

VanillaSugar · 07/11/2017 07:05

Kraft bought out Terrys and changed the formula to include more oil. They taste greasy now. Lots of threads about this on MN Grin

I doubt that people will be able to detect a 0.4% increase in sugar and 1.2% increase in milk. Click bait Hmm

Furball · 07/11/2017 07:06

How weird though putting in MORE sugar, most folk these days are trying to get away with giving us less.

Ktown · 07/11/2017 07:08

Nutella is 70% sugar already! What are they adding to it?!?

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 07/11/2017 07:14

Nutella is mostly sugar with some palm oil anyway.

Why would anyone want to eat it is a mystery.

VanillaSugar · 07/11/2017 07:43

Busted!!! Because clearly I have never posted anything on MN before, ever.

Nutella is grim anyway - never understood why so many people are obsessed with it!

IveGotBillsTheyreMultiplying · 07/11/2017 07:57

I never buy it. It’s far too sweet and I’d rather eat a nut butter.

SoupDragon · 07/11/2017 08:13

I doubt that people will be able to detect a 0.4% increase in sugar

So why increase it?

It's 57% sugar already (I checked)

lettuceWrap · 07/11/2017 08:42

Nutella used to be the food of the god when I was a kid. Now it’s vile and over sweet and far less nutty- the recipe isn’t the same (even before these new changes)

These days I use a no sugar added nut spread topped with Tesco finest dark choc spread (has about half the amount of total carbs that Nutella does. Yum!

CaptainHammer · 07/11/2017 08:45

I’m not a big Nutella fan anymore, it never seems to spread well. I prefer Lidl’s version.

Birdsgottafly · 07/11/2017 08:45

Try Aldi's version and Hotel Chocolate Orange (anything).

We should be paying more for chocolate. Cadbury's have been found guilty of buying illegally grown beans, from rainforest areas. Our chocolate and coffee consumption is making lots of apes/species critically extinct.

GlitterGlue · 07/11/2017 08:45

The dark chocolate oranges are still ok, but are rarely seen in the shops.

I wish they’d stop fucking with perfectly good food. It’s not for taste, it’s usually for profit.

dantdmistedious · 07/11/2017 08:45

It’s been horrid for a while it goes all clumpy.

BobbinThreadbare123 · 07/11/2017 08:50

Palm oil Sad

They have ruined my favourite Chocolate Orange. Dairy Milk is foul and greasy. Snickers is about it for me now.

ownedbySWD · 07/11/2017 09:00

Nutella is basically cake frosting. I make my own version with whole nut peanut butter, dates or bananas, coconut milk and cocoa powder or dark chocolate (whatever is to hand).

AuntyElle · 07/11/2017 09:00

This stuff is amazing. Like Nutella should (used to) taste.

And now they're changing Nutella!
user1495832265 · 07/11/2017 09:02

YANBU OP.
I remember visiting France many years ago and tasting Nutella for the first time. Can't eat it now.

On chocolate, Cadbury's messed about with for years, now inedible. Agree about Chocolate Orange.
I've even noticed that a lot of the traditionally better quality, high end chocolate is full of shit ingredients now. I don't like dark chocolate and I have struggled to find a decent milk chocolate bar that's not crappy.

Anatidae · 07/11/2017 09:03

Oh... I bought some the other day and thought it tasted different.

Bummer. Another one bites the dust. Will have to trawl round the supermarket brands :(

reachforthestarseveryday · 07/11/2017 09:09

Nutella is foul.
Palm oil - will nobody think of the rainforests??
