Sat on a night out with the girls discussing personal hygiene..... I wash twice a week. Some are saying this is too much , some too little ?! Thoughts please ?

Twice a week! Seriously?

I shower every morning, wash hair every other day.

BlondeB83 · 04/11/2017 07:14

Shower and hair wash every morning, a bath when I fancy one.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 04/11/2017 07:15

I'd dread to be near the person who thinks washing twice a week is too much. She he must be honking.

whoareyoukidding · 04/11/2017 07:32

washing twice a week is not enough. There are little things that give away this sort of person imo: a slight griminess around the nails, a little dullness of the complexion and a stale sort of smell. I have noticed it on people - not many but a significant minority.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 04/11/2017 07:34

Every day.

Sarahh2014 · 04/11/2017 07:37

Bath twice a day

MistressPage · 04/11/2017 07:42

Every day is appropriate. Bath or shower. And what whoareyoukidding said. You might not smell actively sweaty if you haven't been racing about but you will smell sort of stale and a bit musty. And I hate to think of the state of your nether regions by day 3!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 04/11/2017 07:44

I never "bathe" but shower daily. HTH

Sketchily · 04/11/2017 07:44

Every day without fail. I’m not a clean freak but I’d feel really yuck if I didn’t. Sorry but don’t believe you don’t smell by middle of day two. You and friends/family are just used to it or have equally low standards of hygiene.

streetlife70s · 04/11/2017 07:45

Every day! Bloody hell we all honk a little after a night under the sheets surely?

woodhill · 04/11/2017 07:47

Daily morning shower and if I'm going out in evening I may wash or shower again or at worse spray deodorant and change top and knickers.

I feel much better since I started using soap on pits in shower

RavingRoo · 04/11/2017 07:48

Have a shower twice everyday - once in the early morning before my commute, then in the evening when I return home. Wash my hair once a week. I agree with others - you need to have better personal hygiene Op.

PolkaDottyRose · 04/11/2017 07:48

I feel incredibly dirty if I don't shower every day. On holiday shower twice a day..once in the morning, and once before getting changed for dinner.

AbacusBabacus · 04/11/2017 07:52

Well this has become embarrassing! No I don’t think my friends are telling me anything ! They said I don’t smell . I shower Monday and Thursday. Can’t say I’ve ever caught a smell of myself or my friend who washes once a week either !

I have super sensitive skin but just use appropriate products. I shower at least once a day, it's basic hygiene to wash regularly surely.

insideoutsider · 04/11/2017 07:52

I shower everyday in the winter, twice everyday in the summer. My kids do the same.

Twice a week just isn't right. For those who say 'I don't smell', oh but you do. You just can't smell yourself and your family has got used to your smell. The rest of us can smell you a mile away.

Mulberry72 · 04/11/2017 07:57

Shower twice a day, morning & night, wash my hair every morning, DH also showers twice a day, DS(11) is just beginning to get a bit whiffy now also showers twice a day, 3 times a day if he’s been training.

We go through a ridiculous amount of shower gel! Blush

Tanfastic · 04/11/2017 07:57

Shower every day, hair wash every other day. Bath once in a blue moon.

I sweat a lot, even in winter and so I could not get away with showering any less, sometimes in summer I shower morning and before bed.

Kitsharrington · 04/11/2017 07:59

Twice a week, whether you need it or not, hey OP!

Lanaa · 04/11/2017 08:00

These threads always descend into a bun fight. Someone will come along and say that they only was with rainwater on a full moon, and someone else will have a full shower every time they visit the loo. Then the eco warriors will chime in with their spiel about how all this washing is bad for the planet, before being shouted down by the germophobes, who have thrice daily dettol baths.

Just do what works for you, I honestly can’t be arsed to worry about other people’s washing habits. If you’re clean and you don’t smell, you’re doing great.

IfyouseeRitaMoreno · 04/11/2017 08:04

Don’t be embarrassed. OP do you strip wash on the days that you don’t shower?

Ecureuil · 04/11/2017 08:06

I suspect that might have been the OP’s intention, Lanaa...

Lanaa · 04/11/2017 08:07

Thought so @Ecureuil

Crumbs1 · 04/11/2017 08:09

We grew up with a fortnightly bath in a huge tin tub with shared water. Less in summer because we swam in the sea daily. In fairness, we probably were quite grubby.
Now it’s daily shower as a minimum twice daily if I’ve been in the sea and need to rinse off seawater. Twice daily if I’m going out or have been soaked walking the dog.
I prefer baths but they take longer and use up hot water so reserve them for when I need them (grumpy times, aching for some reason, headache, cold or as a treat).

Dontknowwhattodonowok · 04/11/2017 08:10

I’m sorry but twice a week is totally grim. I shower every single morning- I’d shower in the evening too if I didn’t think it would hit my water bill hard. I literally hate missing one day of showering!

Do you strip wash in between? The idea of putting a dirty body into clean knickers each morning is so odd
