I shower every day and wash my hair every other day. No way would I go out without having a shower in the morning, it just feels grubby.

Migraleve · 04/11/2017 10:24

Don't other people wash between showers in the sink?

Never. It takes far too much effort to mess about with a cloth and constantly refilling the sink after you wash a bit. Shower is literally 100 times easier than this.

Migraleve · 04/11/2017 10:26

I wash every day, bath every other day. I can't use the shower as I always pull a muscle.

I’m trying to imagine how this could even be possible but it’s just not coming to me at all

Mittens1969 · 04/11/2017 10:28

Ok, that’s the reason for the reaction to those of us saying we bath/shower every other day. I give myself a proper wash every day.

I find it hard to have a shower and not wash my hair and I don’t want to do that every day as my hair gets very dry if I wash it too often.

JustCurious11 · 04/11/2017 10:28

Twice a week? That seems pretty grim to me. I would feel self conscious when being intimate with my partner if I hadn’t taken a proper shower for a few days. All the “crevice” bits excuse the word!) must stink!

VanGoghsLeftEar · 04/11/2017 10:29

Bath or shower every other day. If I can't do that, it's a wash of the essentials with a flannel and wash my hair in the sink every other day. I live in a filthy city, I have to.

RandomUsernameHere · 04/11/2017 10:29

Shower every day, hair wash every other day.

demirose87 · 04/11/2017 10:30

Bath twice a day. Morning bath to get clean and night time bath to relax me before bed.

expatinscotland · 04/11/2017 10:32

I shower every day and wash my hair. I love to soak in a bath after my shower about twice a week. That whole strip washing at the sink is a very British thing, sounds a faff and a mess.

jojowilko · 04/11/2017 10:34

Daily sometimes twice a day if I'm going out or fancy a relaxing bath. Occasional off day if I'm feeling lazy. Hair is very fine and easy to dry but also gets greasy v quickly so wash that every day pretty much.

PortiaCastis · 04/11/2017 10:35

Is this a wind up?

UsernameTaken2 · 04/11/2017 10:35

Migraleve I don't keep refilling the sink. Fill up the sink, start at the top and work your way down.
Wash Face and neck, dry.
Wash underarms, dry, apply deodorant.
Wash your undercarriage, dry. One sink of water one flannel, one small towel

Sooooooooooooooooooooo · 04/11/2017 10:37

I shower every day. OP do you not do pits and bits in between? Deodorant doesn’t mask smell.

bridgetreilly · 04/11/2017 10:38

Every other day. Hair every 4-5 days (am trying to get to a week, really, because I've had scalp problems and washing it less helps with that).

Mittens1969 · 04/11/2017 10:39

This, definitely. I also wash around my chest area as my boobs get sweaty. My DM taught me that, she grew up on a farm in the days before showers.

JustCurious11 · 04/11/2017 10:45

In my contract at work it states I have to have a bath/shower/proper strip wash I guess because personal hygiene is an important factor in my job, especially things like your arms which I don’t suppose people really wash in a strip wash?

Our bodies are the perfect temperature for bacteria to multiply so I guess that’s why it’s so important.

PandorasXbox · 04/11/2017 10:46

A shower twice a week? Shock

Do you think your friends were trying to tell you something in a roundabout way by talking about this?

Oddmanout · 04/11/2017 10:49

Once a day every day at least. I compete in triathlons so lots of training, so if its a double workout day then I may need to shower 2 or 3 times per day.

I've showered daily since being a teenager and feel vile if I don't. I can't imagine bathing only twice per week. I think your friends are telling you that you smell OP I'm afraid! At least they were subtle about it (but maybe too subtle...)

ButchyRestingFace · 04/11/2017 10:50

If someone were to ask me how often I washed, I’d definitely think they were trying to tell me something.

It’s not even subtle.

Migraleve · 04/11/2017 10:52

So essentially a dirty cloth and dirty water by the time you reach your genitals -boak

Shower daily. Sometimes twice a day. Hairwash daily too and brush teeth as well. As does DH and my DC.

We all smell delicious Grin

Twice a week is a bit lapse imo. How do you feel fresh? I am astonished that people are suggesting twice a week is too much Shock

NameChangeFamousFolk · 04/11/2017 10:55

Anyway OP. You've got everyone telling you their washing habits. Was that your idea? Anything you'd like to add to your thread?

eeanne · 04/11/2017 10:56

Daily! Isn’t that the standard? When I had a newborn and was so exhausted and out of sorts, I think I went 3 days without a shower and it was horrible. I can’t imagine doing that on purpose!
