To think the Radfords must be getting money from somewhere other than that bakery?!

They've just posted a picture of themselves at T Rex in Orlando. With 20 kids (some grandkids too I think?)

Surely there's no bakery on earth that lucrative that you can take 24 odd people to Disney World??

I expect they get paid by the TV company for the show and get free/discounted holidays etc as they have a lot of SM followers don’t they?

Xeneth88 · 30/10/2017 20:34

They sell their "story" left, right and centre. Really though, who cares.

kaytee87 · 30/10/2017 20:37

Well they’ve made money through the media haven’t they.
Not sure why it matters though.

papayasareyum · 30/10/2017 20:41

a holiday to Orlando wouldn’t be enough consolation for having to raise twenty kids and the effect that would have on my pelvic floorGrin

HibiscusIsland · 30/10/2017 20:42

I think they get lots of freebies in return for the advertising as lots of people follow them.

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 30/10/2017 20:42

Of course it doesn't matter... but it just baffles me how they're able to afford it. It must be upwards of 50 grand for all of them to be there.

(And agree about the pelvic floor!)

“Not sure why it matters though”.

Because they harp on that they don’t claim benefits blah blah

Cagliostro · 30/10/2017 20:44

Yes I think they get a lot of freebies just like other slebs do I guess

upperlimit · 30/10/2017 20:44

I suppose there's a lot of money in the Radcliffe brand, plus where that brand goes opportunities for freebies follow.

limon · 30/10/2017 20:44

They earn money by starring in the tv programmes don't They? Its not rocket science.

FenceSitter01 · 30/10/2017 20:45

All that child benefit.

Self employed - everything will be written off on tax, pay self a minimal wage and scoop up the tax credits.

SavageCabbage · 30/10/2017 20:48

The Duggers used to bang on about their frugality but the TV company bought the massive house they live in.

Hulababy · 30/10/2017 20:50

Celebs get given freebies and heavily discounted prices for all manner of thing in exchange for a credit on social media/media. They'll be getting various things for far less than anyone plus pay in real life, quite often for no money at all.

TeaAddict235 · 30/10/2017 20:50

fencesitter child benefit in the U.K. Is a joke. No one can get rich by comfortably on that! In Germany it's nearly 200€ per child
And more if you're married (Elterngeld). They probably have shrewd investments.

FenceSitter01 · 30/10/2017 20:51

It still adds up - all those kids , well before the cut off. Not to be sneered at.

2014newme · 30/10/2017 20:52

Passports alone would cost a fortune

Tealdeal747 · 30/10/2017 20:54

Taking 20 people isn't 20x the cost of taking one.

They'll probably have a 4/5 bed villa and squeeze all the kids in.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 30/10/2017 20:55

50 grand for a holiday for 22 people?

That’s over 2K each! I think you’ve over estimated there OP Grin

HelloSquirrels · 30/10/2017 20:55

Self employed - everything will be written off on tax, pay self a minimal wage and scoop up the tax credits

Ah yes because they wouldn't be immediately investigated. Ffs theyre well known i doubt they're thick enough to think they'd get away with that. .

Much more likely that they get paid for their tv appearences etc

WitchesHatRim · 30/10/2017 20:57

It must be upwards of 50 grand for all of them to be there.

No it wouldn't. Where are you getting that figure from?

MaryPoppinsPenguins · 30/10/2017 20:57

I haven't overestimated. It's around 10k for a family of four to do Orlando.

OP posts:
MaryPoppinsPenguins · 30/10/2017 20:58

I've been several times... if you're eating in places like T Rex, even staying in a villa. That's a 10k holiday of anyone's money.

OP posts:
kaytee87 · 30/10/2017 20:58

@FenceSitter01 that’s not quite how being self employed works wrt benefits. My dh pays back our child benefit on his tax return as his ltd company pulls in too much money.

MamaOfTwos · 30/10/2017 20:59

They admit that the TV companies cover the costs of the trip in return for filming- same as when they went to Aus. Fair play if they've found a way of taking the kids on those sorts of holidays without bearing the costs!

BakerBear · 30/10/2017 21:00

I think its 22k cut off for one child to not receive any tax credits. For each child you have it goes up by 5k i think so as 3ish out of the 20 kids they have that they are not entitled to anything for that would be a total income of around 85k a year they would have to be earning before they would not be entitled to tax credits. I imagine that sue takes a salary home so that he doesnt earn over the child benefit threshold so they would get child benefit for 17 kids.
