and where do they go????
My example: 10 days ago DS age 9 had a bath. He reappeared wrapped in his Disney Cars bath sheet (yes bit young for him but he still loves the towel) went to his room, reappeared in his pjs for a story. He didn't go downstairs. I read the story and then went to bathroom - no towel. Asked him where it was, and he looked blank but said he hung it up.
10 days later and despite extensive search of his room and upstairs there is no sign of it. It's not anywhere, really not. Even if he'd deliberately hidden it, which I'm sure he hasn't, we'd have found it as I know he did t go downstairs.
Now I know there will be a rational explanation but it's a big thing to 'lose' between two rooms, and we extended search to whole of upstairs. No doubt at some stage we'll smell the mildew Sad
Anyone else lost seemingly unloseable things? And did they ever reappear? So I feel less mad

A couple of days ago I washed a cushion cover, dried it and went to put it back on the cushion...couldn't find it anywhere!
Then yesterday I found the cushion and the bloody cushion cover has now disappeared Angry

SuzukiLi · 12/09/2017 09:52

I've lost 2 pairs of jeans and 2 hoodies. No idea where they could be!

ToEarlyForDecorations · 12/09/2017 09:58

A sports bag.

It came into the house. I remember putting it somewhere safe like behind the sofa or a chair but it's gone. It just disappeared. I remember bringing it into the house. So, where is it ?

Thought we would find it when we moved. Well we moved and it's still not surfaced.

We've bought a replacement so that's ok. But it still begs the question....where's the sports bag ?

Also a microwave dish that I made damn sure didn't go to the charity shop by mistake. Um, we think it must have gone to the charity shop.

It's just the randomness of the things that go missing isn't it.

Gumbo · 12/09/2017 09:59

My mind. I miss it...

PutTheBunnyBackInTheBox · 12/09/2017 10:01

Gumbo have you tried the odd sock basket? That's usually where mine is Grin

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 12/09/2017 10:01

DH lost my wedding ring. I took it off to make pastry and forgot to put it back on. He thought it would be funny to hide it but then forgot where he put it. Still looking 8 years later. He has bought me a replacement.

TheMaddHugger · 12/09/2017 10:02

a set of beatrix potter [sp?] book. missing 25 yrs now

oh and my mind

Gumbo · 12/09/2017 10:02

Grin Great idea - it's been missing for many years but I'll give it a shot!

TheMaddHugger · 12/09/2017 10:02

To ask, what have you lost at home?
FlandersRocks · 12/09/2017 10:05

Op is the character design/colour one side only and white on the back?

If so, might he have folded/hung/shoved it somewhere but only the white side is showing so you've overlooked it as you're looking for something red/blue?

I've done exactly that before...a specific blue baby blanket which I searched for for weeks and was convinced was lost. Then I found it in our linen drawer, folded with just the white coloured back showing...I'd actually 'found' it multiple times and thought it was a pile of folded pillow cases.

HotLadybird · 12/09/2017 10:07

I lost my favourite pair of jeans a few weeks ago. I even posted on here about it. Hunted everywhere - washing basket, ironing pile, washing machine, everybody else's cupboards and drawers, charity bags waiting in boot of car, towel cupboard, bloody everywhere. Turns out I was wearing them Blush

TwatteryFlowers · 12/09/2017 10:09

Zillions of socks.

The bath plug. No idea where it's gone. I've a feeling the plumber took it when he replaced the shower. It's a right pita because I now have to shower my dc who panic the moment a drop of water touches their faces unless they're in a paddling pool, in which case you could chuck a bucket of water over them and they'd think it was hilarious.

My USB memory stick thing. It had a load of pictures on ready to be handed in for a competition. It walked off somewhere and I couldn't enter the comp. It turned up the day after the deadline in my bag.

mummymummums · 12/09/2017 10:11

I feel so much better! Hopefully one day it'll resurface!
Yes Flanders it is like that - good point - I have been looking for bright colours but I'm certain I'd have seen any towel stuffed somewhere. His room isn't tidy as such but very limited places it could be and we've even looked behind and under beds, drawers etc!

(((((((@HotLadybird))))))))))) we've all done that. Myself ive done that with sunnies

Whitelisbon · 12/09/2017 10:14

The changing bag. It's been AWOL for about 3 weeks now.
It's bright green, weighs as much as a small car, and has the dc's new juice cups in, still 1/2 full.
I've turned the house upside down, checked both cars (although I know I brought it in), and it's nowhere.

Nomoresunshine · 12/09/2017 10:15

Ds all in one waterproof outdoor suit. . Took on holiday last October. Never been seen since.

ferrier · 12/09/2017 10:15

Two bikes and a guitar.

TommyandGina · 12/09/2017 10:15

We lost a tumble dryer Hmm. When packing for honeymoon with now ExP I opened the cupboard to get the tumble dryer out only it was gone, I suspect he sold it for money for alcohol but he always denied it. Who knows, an odd thing to lose otherwise. We only live in a little one bedroom flat!

TheMaddHugger · 12/09/2017 10:17

@TwatteryFlowers If you have a hot glue gun, make a plug. line the hole with plastic then fill in with hot glue. leave there to cool. sets pretty quickly
It works

NevilleBennett · 12/09/2017 10:17

I lost a jar of jam recently. It finally turned up when I got to the bottom of the washing basket (which very rarely happens in this house)

My measuring jug and my cheese grater. Both disappeared from my kitchen in the last week.

Also, my patience.

mummymummums · 12/09/2017 10:24

Love these, but Flowers to those who've lost important loved things.
Have remembered another - 2 pairs of cycling goggles/glasses. Lost my favourites in June. Started using spares and they vanished too in early July. Both pairs came home with me as I don't take them off when riding. I blame my DH for these losses though as he tends to move cycling related stuff to his man cave which is a lost cause - obvs he denies it.

A full pack of new nappies :/

Blerg · 12/09/2017 10:29

My 18 month old has hidden one of his brand new shoes 😑 Had to buy more.

You can buy spare plugs! Always handy.
