College and Pubic Hair

Foxtrot92 · 08/09/2017 17:09

My DSister (16) has just started a beauty therapy course in college.

Yesterday she was told by a tutor that everyone is to grow their pubic hair (vagina) so they can practice waxing on each other and develop and understanding of how clients feel.

My DS and most of the other girls are horrified by this and don't want to do it. AIBU to be horrified at this demand? Surely the college can't enforce this on the girls?!

Obviously they can't "enforce" it. Do they have an inspection?!

Fun post OP, but I'm struggling to take you seriously :)

CherieBabySpliffUp · 08/09/2017 17:13

I would be worried if they had hairy vaginas Shock

I don't think you mean vagina now do you...

Maudlinmaud · 08/09/2017 17:14

Honestly?

AnyFucker · 08/09/2017 17:14

How silly. Silly billy, op.

Steeley113 · 08/09/2017 17:15

It's common practice, how else are they meant to learn? They'll have to grow their leg hair and armpits too. It's only a week or 2's worth of growth, worth it for a free wax haha

AlternativeTentacle · 08/09/2017 17:16

Oscar is that you?

ArcheryAnnie · 08/09/2017 17:17

Exactly why are they horrified, FoxTrot? By having to grow the hair, or by having to have a colleague practice ripping it out?

barefoofdoctor · 08/09/2017 17:18

Hairs sprouting out of vaginas in the manner of old men's ear hair.

CoughLaughFart · 08/09/2017 17:18

I can't wait for the next instalment. 'After the waxing their tutor told them they should take the rest of the wax and rub it over one another's breasts to practise removing microscopic nipple hair. Is this normal?!'

LairyMcClary · 08/09/2017 17:18

Of course they should, why not?

Foxtrot92 · 08/09/2017 17:19

Are you serious? So because my DS wants to be a beauty therapist, she has to get her own fanny waxed by the girls she's just met? What if she doesn't want to be waxed?

Unwanted contact in a private area is sexual assault IMO.

Vagina hair 😳😳

Justmuddlingalong · 08/09/2017 17:20

Thank christ it's not a biology course. 😂

FallingOrbit · 08/09/2017 17:21

OP honestly, just on the off-chance that you are being serious - of course it's unenforceable - for obvious reasons.

Does a surgeon have to have a kidney transplant so they can "develop an understanding" of how their patients feel? C'mon now.

KeyChange · 08/09/2017 17:21

My son is a trainee dentist and his class has been told to eat loads of haribo so they can practice fillings.

Steeley113 · 08/09/2017 17:22

Tbf, if you booked for a wax they won't take you out for dinner first 🙄 it's only a bikini wax, they wear pants for goodness sake.

toiletanger · 08/09/2017 17:22

Actually I did a beauty course and erm... this happened

Never thought too much about it since we'd already had to grow armpit hair, leg hair etc for practicing on each other

I think it's fairly standard... not that bizarre surely

2littlemoos · 08/09/2017 17:22

Come on, we all know what OP meant!

And no I wouldn't like it nor would I do it. Tell her to say no.
