Oh my god I feel I need to be following drag queens! I follow a couple of people who went to drag world last weekend and it looked amazing!

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 02/09/2017 23:19

That IG story is something else Shock

BriocheBriocheBrioche · 02/09/2017 23:23

I love a bit of instagram and follow a lot of the instamums (and FOD!) mentioned on this thread.

Some I like more than others and I am finding that some are posting far to much sponsored (whether they # it or not) content and am losing interest in them.

Rather than call us all vicious, maybe they and the companies sending them the free shit should listen to what we have said - we are the target market after all.

Keep doing what you are doing, we like it. Just be honest and don't forget why we started following you in the first place....

NotACleverName · 02/09/2017 23:23

Donald's daily stories of presidential mishaps from every day life would be like crack to me.

"Accidentally just launched a nuke at North Korea" #whoops #donnyneedsagin #presidentingtheshitoutoflife

scarlett1987 · 02/09/2017 23:25

I can't find the original post, can someone explain what an instamum is please

Runningyogabooze · 02/09/2017 23:25

I can't watch the Susie V story (only heard of her thru this thread today, and afraid I also had to google who her boyfriend was too) as DH is snoring beside me. Shame as it sounds entertaining.

Can we have some drag queen recommendations please? I don't follow a single one but now I really want to!

Glamorousglitter · 02/09/2017 23:26

I really dislike the title instamum.

However mother pukka is my new hero, I m lucky to work in a company that is very supportive of their employees and continues to be so if they are parents. I like the flex appeal. I like that she is funny vocal and smart (smart in a cerebral way) self depreciating and true to herself.
I don't mind if bloggers are sponsored when they let me know that they have been influenced to use their influence. But I get pretty pissed off of they tell me that products are fab and amazing when they re bloody well not and they re just saying it because they have been sponsored to do so.
Because to be honest I m busy, I have children, I work in a busy role, I have hobbies, life,my parents and siblings need support, my inlaws need a bit of minding, I m trying to keep up with healthy life habits and be a
Good role model for my kids. I want to help create a world they willl be happy to exist in and my grandchildren too. (Yes I ve had wine tonight.) I m influenced by these influencers. I don't have time to sit and peruse all the information I need to, so if a kind blogger has a nice outfit or says this buggy is the bomb - well then it helps and I ll consider it ! (Not a total sheep) they do help to take the leg work out of life when life is crazy already. So yes I m disappointed in these people who seem to tell lots of other honest truths about their lives, parenting, struggle to balance it all, then to find they are quietly taking backhanders to promote stuff -well I know it sounds over invested and silly but I feel a bit let down. I think some of the bloggers are a bit unaware of how their influence is a responsibility too, maybe that s too harsh, I dunno.
Some of the criticism was really unkind and overly personal tonight, I didn't like those or support those, personal criticisms are unkind and unnecessary.

dollydimplenotsosimple · 02/09/2017 23:27

I quite like jetsetmama.

She's as mad as a box of frogs but she really does seem nice.

Getout21 · 02/09/2017 23:29

Do you think Eamonn Holmes & Lesley Garret will turn up?

NotACleverName · 02/09/2017 23:31

"Vitriolic psychos"
"Cesspit of misery"

Susie really didn't get it, did she?

realhousewife33 · 02/09/2017 23:32

So, you follow or look at someone because you find them annoying?

Yes in the world of blogs, Instagram and social media, this is known as hate reading.

FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 23:34

Vitriolic psychos. Nice.

No one said anything remotely on that level on the last thread. In fact most people said they really liked her.

Beadieeye · 02/09/2017 23:35

Why did I get the sense that Susie thought her post was the authority to shut everyone down with one wag of her finger? And now she's annoyed that people are still posting. Oh dear!

BubbleAnimal · 02/09/2017 23:36

FuckingLoveCarbs, I agree. Though I think some may now drop their opinion a little after this. And it looked like she'd redeemed herself after her post. Shame she didn't then reply to anything or stay around, or read the thread fully.

NaughtyNannyPlum · 02/09/2017 23:37

I hadn't heard of Susie until this thread and followed her due to the positive comments about her.

However, her comments about Mumsnet on her insta stories are pretty bloody unfair. She obviously has no idea at all.

MumIsRunningAMarathon · 02/09/2017 23:37

Oh I'm sure she will be reading this....

They can't seem to help themselves

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 02/09/2017 23:37

Drag queens: watch Drag Race, pick your faves.

if trump were on instagram he wouldn't be posting whoops-anything
it would all be

Many many bigly crowds came to see me talky big speak - everyone went wild for me. Making America great again. Covfefe!

Now there's a "man" who needs to be following drag queens. I can't help but feel if there were more sequins in The Donald's life, he wouldn't be such a hate-filled fuckwitted bigot.

FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 23:38

TBH I think when people get really defensive about something you've said (which was not insulting), it's generally because they know there's an element of truth in it.

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 02/09/2017 23:39

Yes in the world of blogs, Instagram and social media, this is known as hate reading.

Hate reading? Tell me more.

langkaw · 02/09/2017 23:41

Hate following where you get a rush of joy from a cringe.,

Runningyogabooze · 02/09/2017 23:43

Yes carbs you're absolutely right.

And doom come ON! I call it the hate follow, but whatever, it's a thing! Everyone at work talks about who they hate follow.

It's half the fun - I don't want to just see Instas from people I totally agree with and love. Same as on Twitter I follow eg Donald Trump, Piers Morgan, hard left and hard right people. It engages the brain.

Mrsknackered · 02/09/2017 23:44

I was on the first thread, I promise!

I appreciate Mother Pukka coming on, she got it. And I was a bit Hmm at a comment or two on the first thread but the discussion was a good one so you know what Suzie, do one. Maybe next time before giving your kid the moniker Nugget you'll check out the baby names board first?

I didn't even know who Suzie was

I do feel bad that tomanychildren got upset over the last thread. I didn't follow her before today and from what I can see she comes across as quite lovely. Not quite sure about so much saltwater love though, I mean I like them but she's quite a fan.

Also the Simon/Richard Madeley comment had me fucking howling.

Fairylea · 02/09/2017 23:45

Beadieeye - I thought exactly the same thing!

instanonsista · 02/09/2017 23:45

I think it depends what they're advertising too. I follow some countryside/ outdoorsy accounts who have recently been gifted some items, but they're the sort of things they'd buy anyway. It's the wine adverts and other equally boring stuff I don't get. Or maybe it's just me!
