Oh pidgeon that's the kind of instamum I like!!!

The ones I can't stand are all #blessed #beingamummyisthebestjobever

langkaw · 02/09/2017 22:56

I can't stand either type of instamum. The #mummyneedswine mum or the #lovemyboys mum. Both equally irritating on Instagram.

FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 22:57

Well maybe not the alcohol ones as I don't drink Smile

Cococrumble · 02/09/2017 22:59

This thread makes me so glad we decided to keep our DD off all social media. who knows where the crazy relatively new social media phenomenon is going to end up down the line

NaughtyNannyPlum · 02/09/2017 23:00

I like Mrs Meldrum (and Mr!) as well as Emily Norris. Both seem genuine Smile

Beadycake · 02/09/2017 23:02

Don't mind me but...
What a shame it is that some of these lovely young mummies and daddies are so busy blogging their every wet fart that their own families (who may perhaps be not quite as 'pretty' as they) don't get a passing wet wipe for the aforementioned strewn avocado....

langkaw · 02/09/2017 23:02

Susie, according to stories, still doesn't like us because we are STILL AT IT.

Mothervulva · 02/09/2017 23:05

I saw that Lang. She told us off but we're still discussing. Tsk tsk.

FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 23:06

Naughty old mumsnetters.

BubbleAnimal · 02/09/2017 23:06

She told us off? She didn't, she can on and posted one thing, didn't engage, and went off again. Having still not rtft

BubbleAnimal · 02/09/2017 23:06

Came on.

Jeez. Can't even type now.

Mothervulva · 02/09/2017 23:07

Bubble, on her insta story.

FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 23:08

I always feel the need to defend MN. Can remember being on here in the darkest throes of PND feeling like the worst person ever, only to post and discover a multitude of kind, lovely people saying "it's ok, we have felt this way too".

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 02/09/2017 23:09

It was me who was asking why follow people you don't like. I genuinely don't understand this, I'm asking because I want to understand.

So, you follow or look at someone because you find them annoying?

Sorry if I've completely misunderstood.

BubbleAnimal · 02/09/2017 23:10

Copying from previous thread:

BubbleAnimal

DoomGloom I know on mine, those I've unfollowed still come up on the search and recent posts feed. So they often catch my eye. I started following them for a reason, so some things will stand out more

FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 23:10

A lot of us don't follow these people, doom.

racclecakes · 02/09/2017 23:10

#unfollow when you don't like what you see? 😳😝👏

FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 23:11

I think "just unfollow" is a bit simplistic TBH, it's like the whole "omg u guys are just jealous, ignore the haters".

Hmmmmx100 · 02/09/2017 23:12

I don't follow Donald Trump, I still think his tweets are ridiculous.

OP posts:
FuckingLoveCarbs · 02/09/2017 23:12

I guarantee there's an influx of fan girls on the way.

langkaw · 02/09/2017 23:13

I follow people I don't like. Absolutely. If Donald trump had an Instagram account I'd be all over it like a rash.

BubbleAnimal · 02/09/2017 23:13

I don't follow SV mothervulva so wouldn't have seen her stories.

But I don't understand why we need to stop discussing the valid points because she said so.

^the overexposure of children on public sites which could be a safety risk
^the non declaration of free gifts/sponsored posts, so things look like they're their everyday life
^the pressure on following parents to reach those same status of clothing and housing, because they're "real" after all
^wtf a social influencer is as a job

langkaw · 02/09/2017 23:14

Donald's daily stories of presidential mishaps from every day life would be like crack to me.

DoomGloomAndKaboom · 02/09/2017 23:14

Ah, I don't think I have a search/recent posts feed - that makes sense, they'd pop up uninvited, as it were. Thanks - I get that.

If you don't follow them, how are they on your radar? Just you remember what they posted previously?

At the moment I am mostly following drag queens, so perhaps the smug/glam effect of the instamums is lost on me because not one of them is mopping up baby sick wearing thigh high fuck me boots, a massive blonde wig and enough make up to sink a battle ship. Grin

Arsenicinthesugarbowl · 02/09/2017 23:17

Doom I follow lots of drag queens on Instagram too! Wonderful escapism and glamour!
