I am making a potato salad for a bbq tomorrow. Using jazzy new potatos, Mayonnaise, little bit of Dijon mustard, spring onions, dill and chives ontop (more for garnish really)

AIBU to bash up a few boiled eggs and throw them in aswell i think it would be yum!

Not at all. Potatoes, yum. Mayo, yum. Eggs, yum.

cardibach · 01/09/2017 21:30

YABVU cold eggs are the devil' work. Don't ruin your lovely potato salad.

Cakesprinkles · 01/09/2017 21:30

Boiled eggs in potato salad are yummy!

FreeSpiritJen · 01/09/2017 21:30

Can you not take half and put eggs in and leave the other half as potato salad?

And don't forget to label with one with the egg in as 'egg and potato salad.'

Redsippycup · 01/09/2017 21:30

Egg in potato salad is yummy, go for it! Shouldn't be a problem with allergies as mayo is eggy anyway.

justdontevenfuckingstart · 01/09/2017 21:30

Egg salad yum
Potato salad yum
Egg & potato salad not yum

snotato · 01/09/2017 21:31

I always do potato salad exactly as you have described with boiled eggs. It's delicious.

silverbell64 · 01/09/2017 21:31

you really have to post about this? hahahaha

QueenMortificado · 01/09/2017 21:31

Bleugh.

If, however, you chopped up some bacon and cooked that and chucked it in it would be the feast of kings

Clickncollect · 01/09/2017 21:32

YANBU - My mum's potato salad ingredients have always been potatoes, egg, onion, gherkins and hot dogs. Delicious!!!
Stinks the fridge out though.

Lelloteddy · 01/09/2017 21:32

I would be shocked to find egg in my potato salad, but pleasantly surprised ( as long as you use salad cream as well as mayo)

IHaveBrilloHair · 01/09/2017 21:32

Yum, am I invited?

Howlandbreathe · 01/09/2017 21:33

No. No.No

No eggs and definitely no bacon

ZeroFuchsGiven · 01/09/2017 21:33

Why would you do such a thing?

kingfishergreen · 01/09/2017 21:33
  • capers
silverbell64 · 01/09/2017 21:33

Am I in a parallel universe?

Mum2jenny · 01/09/2017 21:35

Just no, potato salad can't have eggs in it, just nasty!

An egg salad, as a separate entity, is fine though.

MrsMotherHen · 01/09/2017 21:35

well thats a divided opinion ... my hubby thinks i should go for it but worried about ruining a good potato salad.

Egg in potato salad? No thank you.

Your recipe sounded delish until you suggested putting eggs in it.

FrogsLegs31 · 01/09/2017 21:36

I thought this was normal Shock

Hassled · 01/09/2017 21:36

I always put eggs in a potato salad, and I don't even really like eggs. It's just what you do, isn't it? Otherwise it'd be like coleslaw without the carrots - just weird and wrong.

Killerqueen2244 · 01/09/2017 21:36

Yes definitely!!! Eggs and potatoes are meant to be put with mayonnaise!! Wink

GriswaldFamilyVacation · 01/09/2017 21:36

Of course yanbu. You also need tiny Chopped cornichons. Don't mash the eggs though. Chop

Make deviled eggs while you're boiling some up.

GriswaldFamilyVacation · 01/09/2017 21:37

Also you forgot paprika in top.

BuzzKillington · 01/09/2017 21:37

We always make a potato salad with egg - guests actually request it. We are poncey, so call it ensaladilla rusa. Apart from home-made mayo, potatoes and egg, it has gherkins, anchovies, tuna, green beans, peas and carrots.

So yummy.
