I know i am being hormonal and emotional but i really don't care at this moment .
Currently suffering second miscarriage in 5 months so been to the hospital again yesterday . Obviously has to go to the antenatal ward and seeing all these women outside smoking clearly heavily pregnant.
I know it is their choice bla bla but it makes me so angry . I have done nothing wrong but have lost two . I'm not saying these women should have to go through this , nobody should but just makes me angry .
To be honest I don't know why I'm writing this . I know it's up to them what they do . Just wanted to vent really

My heart, your mum sounds great. I can't believe that pregnant women still do it, knowing all the risks. Crazy

After one of my losses (I was 33 weeks) I was waiting to birth my (dead) baby.
I sent my boyfriend at the time out to get me 10 cigarettes and smoked outside the hospital (away from the doors etc though I'm not inconsiderate) I still had an obvious bump and was still "pregnant" despite the fact my baby had already died.
The amount of dirty looks I got was horrible. I had been a 2 pack a day smoker I had one cigarette while I tested and as soon as the positive came up I stubbed my cig out and didn't light another until I found out my baby had died inside me.
If your mother had come up to me myheart I wouldn't think her brave or amazing. I'd have decked her.

@Oreosthough - agreed. No bystander knows the ins and outs of a situation. This mother sounds ghastly for pulling cigarettes out of people's mouths. She'd probably spill their alcoholic drinks and shout at fat pregnant women to lose weight..

Seeing as so many mothers smoked in the 40s & 50s and 60s and we have (mostly) turned out alright, smoking while pregnant isn't the worse thing in the world. It's just a way the smug middle classes can gloat and feel superior to the working class.

Years ago my mother took a cigarette out of a pregnant woman's mouth, threw it on the ground and told her she should be ashamed of herself

What a disgusting thing to do. It's your mother who should be ashamed.
