How many children would you have ideally?

I mean ideally as in no time/age/money/fertility/cultural conventions/partner/lack of support etc barriers. How many would you have/have had?
For me.. about 6 or 7. I have two and one on way but have always loved the idea of big family.

I stopped at 4, purely for financial reasons!

I only have one. I would like 2 but it's not going to happen

I always said 4 but now with two regardless of material reasons I know I couldn't give the same attention to a third, so 2 feels right for me.

3 and i have 3. Nothing would entice me to have more

four. lovely number. Left it too late though, but did manage three.

One and I have her. I only ever wanted one daughter since I was a little girl playing mummy and daddy. No more. Never ever ever!

I'd have liked four, but three turned out to be the right number for me.

We have three

I had a miscarriage between 1 and 2 and by the time 3 came we felt that the age gap between 1 and a potential 4 would be to big (for us, it would be 8+years)

I have 3 and I think that's pretty perfect BUT if I could be assured a girl I would love to give DD a little sister as she has 2 big brothers who are 9 and 13 years older than her. We can't have any more though so we are very content with our three.

And 3 fit nicely in a car/holidays etc :D

I'd love to have 4 barring all the barriers you listed, OP. We have 2 and will 95% likely be stopping there.

3 and I have 3. At one point I tried to persuade DH to go for a 4th, but now very pleased he said no! Three is perfect for me.
