To lose my ***

I've just come home from work to discover my cleaner has painted parts of my bannister and skirting.

She's dripped white gloss paint over my oak wood flooring and there are paint drip marks on my bannister.

To make things worse my kitchen hasn't been cleaned and there are grease marks untouched.

AIBU to actually lose my *?! I guess she meant well but WTAF?!!

This is supremely odd. What on earth possessed her?!
Where did she get the paint and why on earth might she have thought this was a good idea?

Allthebestnamesareused · 04/07/2017 20:58

Why?

Allthebestnamesareused · 04/07/2017 20:58

As in what possessed her her to do that?

BeingMePls · 04/07/2017 20:58

I honestly don't know. I'm so upset but wonder whether AIBU given I know she meant well.

BeingMePls · 04/07/2017 20:59

Has painting ever been discussed?? Are you sure it was the cleaner? This is so weird Confused.

BeingMePls · 04/07/2017 21:02

Yes it was definitely her. She left a note to say not to touch it.

ClashCityRocker · 04/07/2017 21:02

That's really odd. Did she maybe accidentally mark the bannister and decide to paint over it? Confused

PeaFaceMcgee · 04/07/2017 21:02

Meaning well isn't good enough. Tell her to sort it, or claim on her business insurance.

Onhold · 04/07/2017 21:02

Shit, shit, shit. Fuck, fuck, fuck. This is MN you can swear.

Have you asked her why she painted your banister?

RibenaMonsoon · 04/07/2017 21:03

Did she ruin the skirting while cleaning? Perhaps she scrubbed too much and ruined the paintwork so decided to correct it?
If not then yes that's very weird!

helen650 · 04/07/2017 21:03

😱

PeaFaceMcgee · 04/07/2017 21:03

Shit - is she quite well normally?

AdalindSchade · 04/07/2017 21:03

Phone her now and ask what the fuck?
Then fire her weirdo arse

DianneDionne · 04/07/2017 21:03

Argh!! That's a terrible paint job! WTF??

Decaffstilltastesweird · 04/07/2017 21:04

Oh God that picture looks quite bad op. What a very strange thing for her to do. I'm sure she did mean well, but still.

PollytheDolly · 04/07/2017 21:04

Good grief!!!!! 😩

Fruitcocktail6 · 04/07/2017 21:06

What a strange thing to do! You need to ask her why and report back!!

Brigante9 · 04/07/2017 21:08

How did she miss that big drip of gloss on the floor and wtf is she doing painting?!

BeingMePls · 04/07/2017 21:09

You guys need to talk me down. I'm so upset.

Poor hubbie is trying to scrub furiously but even if he manages to get it off it will definitely ruin the floor.

She's done the door frames, part of the bannister etc. It's such a bad job

😭😭😭

Supersoaryflappypigeon · 04/07/2017 21:10

Has she cleaned it with something that has damaged it and tried to cover it up?!?

Therapyornot · 04/07/2017 21:10

Crikey! And I thought my cleaner was nice but nuts!

MammaTJ · 04/07/2017 21:11

The only thing you are being unreasonable about is using * instead of shit! This is a grown up site, for, you know, grown ups! We are allowed to swear, even mildly, if we feel like it!

She is a cleaner and employed as such, NOT a painter and decorator!

If she had done an amazing job of it and you had definitely wanted it doing, then that still would have been wrong! If she had cleaned, then filled time by doing it in an alright way, then that might be forgivable!

This!! No way!!!

She need a rocket up her arse and a reminder of the job she is paid for, she needs to be asked what she is going to do to put it right, she needs to know this is not on!

Good intentions are usually ok in my book and wipe out a lot of wrongs, but gloss paint does not get dissolved by good intentions!
