I HATE summer!! Being on winter

ManifestingMyDreams · 14/06/2017 18:49

Just wondered does anyone else HATE the summer and prefer winter months?

I hate being too hot and not being able to cool down, I hate how easy it is to get dehydrated, I hate how grumpy it makes my DC and I hate being sweaty and sticky. I could go on.

Don't get me wrong I like a bit of sun as opposed to rain but not the heat and humidity.

I like winter, being cosy and warm when it's cold outside and the build up Christmas Smile

AIBU to want to hibernate until September? Lol

@Nousernameforme totally agree, not to mention how greasy the sun cream is too

No. I absolutely love spring and summer. As far as I'm concerned everything between October and the end of March is a waste of time.
And I'd be quite happy if it never snowed again.

CondensedMilkSarnies · 14/06/2017 19:07

Also everything in my garden grows so quickly which means I have to go out weeding and cutting the grass , getting all hot and bothered AND dirty .

OnlyLoveHere · 14/06/2017 19:07

Yabu, today was lovely, low humidity but warm. Yes it's sticky and warm and I'm a bit hot but sometimes once you say you know what I don't care about sweating a bit or I don't care if I feel hot you learn to love hot weather.

CondensedMilkSarnies · 14/06/2017 19:09

I do agree about 'giving in' to being sweaty. I'm sure the more I think about it , the more I sweat!

BrexitSucks · 14/06/2017 19:09

I love summer :).

MrsD79 · 14/06/2017 19:09

Yup. What can you do though. We are never happy. Have a shower get some clean pants on and stick the fan on. It'll soon be over. This is England remember. Thank fook your not in dubai Shock

PickAChew · 14/06/2017 19:09

Yanbu.

Not incredibly hot here,. But it's breezy and I can't fucking stop sneezing.

Treesinbloom · 14/06/2017 19:11

I love spring and summer although I do wish that a) I could find sandals that don't wreck my feet and b) the air conditioning wasn't so strong at work so I have to take in extra Myers for inside and remove them when I leave the building.

We're always up at 6am and I love the lighter mornings

ManifestingMyDreams · 14/06/2017 19:11

I can give in to being sweaty but then it does my head in being paranoid that I smell

ItsAHardKn0ckLife · 14/06/2017 19:11

I have found my people! If I ever say this to anyone they look at me like I have 2 heads.

YANBU.

StewPots · 14/06/2017 19:12

I definitely hate summer and much prefer winter!
As you say, it's too hot but also the extended daylight plays havoc with my already rather crappy sleeping! I don't drop off until 11pm then awake at 4.30-5am in summer, and it's even worse when it's really really hot at night!

Also where I work, there's no air con, windows can't be opened properly due to safety reasons and so you're there 12 hours dripping with sweat it's awful!

Summer's great when you don't have to do anything... YNBU about this at all! (Oh and I also get called weird all the time!)

Peachypie83 · 14/06/2017 19:12

I'm with you. LOVE autumn and winter and hate being too hot. Added to that at the moment that I have my very diddy, brand new DS home from a month in hospital having been born at 31 weeks. He's only 4lbs and can't maintain his body temperature so we have to PUT THE HEATING ON in this weather to keep him normal temp. I'm dying

ManifestingMyDreams · 14/06/2017 19:12

@PickAChew hay fever? Another annoying thing about summer

OP posts:
Highalert · 14/06/2017 19:13

I have to be up at 6,30 for work. I hate getting up in the dark in winter,

ManifestingMyDreams · 14/06/2017 19:14

@Peachypie83 that sounds terrible. Congratulations on your lovely DS though Flowers

PickAChew · 14/06/2017 19:15

Aye. It normally only affects my eyes, but something has properly triggered me, today.

notknownatthisaddress · 14/06/2017 19:16

confused by the title of the thread. i hate summer being on winter???'

tinypop4 · 14/06/2017 19:16

yabu I love it!! I like being able to entertain my kids with a paddling pool and ice pops instead of them being cooped up or having to go to the dreaded soft play.
I love having way less washing because there are no socks, jumpers, jeans - it is heaven just doing dresses and shorts and t shirts!
I love the long evenings.

ManifestingMyDreams · 14/06/2017 19:17

@notknownatthisaddress I had to correct it in a second post. My stupid typing, was meant to say 'bring on winter'

OP posts:
hollygolipo · 14/06/2017 19:18

I also HATE summer - sweaty hair, greasy skin, ugh to beaches, sunscreen and sand everywhere- and the horror: exposing pasty flesh. Can't sleep properly, wake up at dawn (4am) every morning. When it gets to October and I can wear jumpers, layers and boots I relax. I really would be very happy in Norway. Or Antarctica.

Achoopichu · 14/06/2017 19:19

Come up north and you won't miss winter so much!

notknownatthisaddress · 14/06/2017 19:20

Oh BRING on winter. Sorry OP. When will MN bring an edit function along? grrrr. Even for the first few minutes.

Er, I do like summer though and dislike winter Grin

ManifestingMyDreams · 14/06/2017 19:21

I'm currently expecting DC3 and I'm dreading when it gets hotter, it's terrible when you're pregnant. My DD is a September baby and I remember suffering that year being very heavily pregnant over summer is not the one! My DS was March and I loved being pregnant over winter, being all snuggly and cosy with my bump

OP posts:
ChristmasSeacow · 14/06/2017 19:22

Just count your blessings if you are not 39 weeks pregnant like me!

The only upside to dry weather is that the only footwear I can fit on my huge swollen feet are Crocs. No closed shoes come anywhere near Hmm
