DH leaves for work at 7.30, I leave for the school run at 8.30. I was the last one in the bathroom for the last 3 mornings. Just got home from work and for the 3rd day in a row there is wee in my toilet! It definately wasn't there when I left, DH works miles away so it wasn't him but someone (or something) has been weeing in my toilet! So what is it? A ghost incapable of flushing? The cat has somehow come way beyond litter training? I mean what the hell is happening?!

Throwing another thought in here. Did they actually use your look or do you have a water tank in the loft that they could've been using vomit

GhostPower · 15/06/2017 15:03

Were the traps you set disturbed op?

Ironfloor · 15/06/2017 15:04

But if they were using your loo, why didn't they FLUSH afterwards, to erase any evidence of them being there? Surely, if you were intruding someone else's house, the last thing you want is to be found out?

paap1975 · 15/06/2017 15:06

Maybe they thought the noise of the flushing would attract someone's attention?

artycakemaker · 15/06/2017 15:07

Maybe there were concerned about water usage and the environment.

[weak joke]

Seriously, though OP.... I hope you are okay. That is a horrifying thing to discover.

artycakemaker · 15/06/2017 15:08

paap's theory is better. :)

icantfindagoodname · 15/06/2017 15:09

Apparently some of the empty bottles were filled with wee too. Christ only knows where he has been shitting.

Shock

So your LL doesn't think it's the actual builders, but a completely unknown person? How is the person supposedly getting in? (Sorry - have RTFT but feel like I'm missing something)

64PooLane · 15/06/2017 15:18

Also, Brew to you OP. This is alarming stuff.

MollyHuaCha · 15/06/2017 15:19

And where is the person now...? Shock

ThanksForAllTheFish · 15/06/2017 15:23

Maybe he/she didn't flush because they get a kick out of it. Living in the attic unnoticed, moving things around, eating your food etc.

Do you know much about the previous tenant that lived next door or in your house? That would be my bet. They kept a set of keys and have been gaining access that way. Even more likely if they had a fall out with you or the landlord.

I wonder how many mumsnetters will be off checking their own attic after reading this?

SillyMoomin · 15/06/2017 15:28

Bugger me op
Shock

I honestly thought the cat was going to be the culprit

mogloveseggs · 15/06/2017 15:29

Gosh this is really scary! Glad your landlord is on the case.

Meowstro · 15/06/2017 15:32

How awful, OP! You must be incredibly shaken, I hope you're OK and you've someone with you.

I'd put money on a builder from next door or someone connected to them. Has your LL given them the new set of keys? Hmm I used to work for a company who had employed a builder to do some work at an empty building they owned. About 3 days in we got reports of noise quite late from the empty building, then it escalated with one of the people who lived next to it saying it sounded like people were in there having sex late at night/early hours. Turned out he'd had an argument with his girlfriend, got chucked out and had no where to live so took it up as his sex pad. At that point there was no running water or anything so the toilet was left with pee and poo in it (although in your case probably didn't want to alert anyone) and cans of beer, takeaway boxes, chocolate wrappers everywhere. It was a shame as he was quite skilled at his job too, just a real liability.

Perhaps one of the builders is homeless, doesn't want to let on or get caught so only goes up into the loft at night via next door then comes out of yours in the morning and turns up next door like normal? That or whoever it is has been in your house looking around, been about to get caught and run up there. I much prefer the former but perhaps change all of the locks and window locks if possible?

AmyBrookheimer · 15/06/2017 15:33

God how terrifying! I wonder why they don't just use the facilities next door during the night though.

Could one of the builders be sleeping there?

Hissy · 15/06/2017 15:34

Wee. In bottles.

No flush.

Blokes.

Add leaving the light on and the door open and I'd start to worry it was my own son.

Huffletuff · 15/06/2017 15:37

Omg this thread started off amusing and now it's scary!

Emus · 15/06/2017 15:43

I reckon it's the builders. And possibly the cat too, just to add an extra element! Glad your LL is taking this seriously. Flowers

Defuzzing · 15/06/2017 15:57

People squatting in attics was a common problem some decades ago and they would claim squatters rights if found out.
It could be a homeless person or teenagers skipping school.

mortificado · 15/06/2017 16:12

Bloody hell Shock didn't expect that!
Hope you catch the fucker!

JeremyCorbynsBeard · 15/06/2017 16:18

That's horrible OP. Hope it gets sorted soon.

Wow. I read the thread and was agreeing with everyone who was saying it was some poo, blocking the pipes as it happens here occasionally. Can't believe it was someone in your attic. Scary.

Tiredtomybones · 15/06/2017 16:24

Oh goodness, I was amused by the stories of cats using the loo as I'd never heard that before but this has become very sinister.
