I can see no way this can continue into 2018 without a major realignment of world powers. Which of its allies will be able to trust the US with any intel after this? The US is aligning with Russia. That's Russia who interfered with its democratic process. It's hard to know where we go from here.

Trump still seems to be midtweet 40 mins after tweeting the first part. Do you think it's taking him that long to arrange his thoughts, or perhaps someone has wrestled him to the ground and is currently trying to grab his phone out of his tiny hands?

Surely, surely, there will come a point when he has pissed off and alienated every single member of his support staff? And at that point, what's going to happen? Surely there must be some kind of resistance? Surely elected Republicans aren't so spineless they will let him stay in power, giving away state secrets and putting the security of the country at risk?

I saw a depressing piece on telly some evenings ago, Pain. There were people who had now got jobs in an area where jobs had been in short supply for some time. Unfortunately, those jobs were largely related to shifting coal. They couldn't have given a toss about 'greater responsibilities' etc.
