To be fucking furious this is happening to women's sports

For all those who think trans politics doesn't affect you or your daughters - please read this article of a male forcing women out of their sport and the authorities are letting this happen. If you don't give a shiney shit about this incident - what exactly will it take for you to sit up and take notice and start saying enough.

Transvestism is no longer a thing, everyone must now have magically transformed into the opposite sex.

Exactly. Just ask Eddie Izzard.

It's like no man who cross dresses for kicks can admit to having a fetish. It's because they're a laydee.

Speaking of which, what would the TAs have made of that Little Britain sketch? I rather suspect there would have been uproar. So much has changed in the last 10-15 years.

ErrolTheDragon · 22/03/2017 11:33

Grayson Perry does. A self-declared 'man in a frock' who explores masculinity. Don't you love his CBE outfit - which a Buckingham Palace spokeswoman said was "entirely appropriate”:
www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/01/24/grayson-perry-cbe-_n_4658958.html

He shows how gender should be treated - as a matter for each individual, not something to be discriminated against. If a frock would be appropriate in the palace for Camilla, it's appropriate for Perry. But he doesn't make the massive mistake of confusing gender with sex.

HeyRoly · 22/03/2017 11:36

I have a lot of respect for Grayson Perry for saying something both obvious but quite unsayable - that he's a man in a dress and doesn't understand the first thing about what it is to be a woman.

HeyRoly · 22/03/2017 11:37

But you're right Errol, he is a rare example of a transvestite perfectly happy to be called a transvestite.

ATailofTwoKitties · 22/03/2017 13:50

Plus, he actually looks fab. Not sure if that's relevant in this context.

ageingrunner · 22/03/2017 14:04

I don't know if anyone's looked at the link I posted, but just to summarise, LH's dad is a politician opposed to Same sex marriage. LH competed in male weight lifting but wasn't very successful. He then worked as executive officer of Weight Lifting New Zealand. When that position was ended last year, LH created a weight lifting gym that sponsored the very same WLNZ competition that LH has just won 😳

Italiangreyhound · 22/03/2017 14:17

ageingrunner yes I read it, he's a big fat cheater.

Horrible and sad.

I don't think girls will take up professional sports when they realize the men are going to beat them at it.

ageingrunner · 22/03/2017 14:48

He's a big fat corrupt cheater. How are they letting him get away with it? Confused

DickToPhone · 22/03/2017 15:30

Actually the cheating is much worse than Gender Trender lets on.

Olympic weightlifting qualification rules are complicated.

New Zealand gets, basically, zero or one place in the competition. There are seven weight categories. That means the single best weightlifter across the seven weight categories would compete.

In 2016 that was Tracey Lambrechs, chosen above New Zealand women from all other categories. At a future Olympics presumably it would be Hubbard. So NO actual New Zealand woman could compete at the Olympics at all.

Secondly, with Lambrechs now in the 75kg category and Hubbard in the 75kg+ that strengthens the New Zealand weightlifting team for qualification purposes.

In 2004, 2008 and 2012, New Zealand did not qualify for the Olympics in women's weightlifting. They were beaten out by Papua New Guinea within the Oceania group. In 2016, however, NZ qualified over PNG

PNG were represented on each occasion from 2000 to 2012 by Dika Toua She was also PNG flagbearer at the 2004 games.

In the future women such as her will not be able to compete. Because of cheating Hubbard. How fucking dare he? Someone like Dika Toua comes from an impoverished country and qualified fair and square with minimal funding, while he cheats his way in as transgender son of a cereal magnate?

Bastard.

DickToPhone · 22/03/2017 15:40

The rules to be clear are one women's place each to the top four countries from:

American Samoa
Australia
Cook Islands
Fiji
Federated States of Micronesia
Guam
Kiribati
Marshall Islands
New Caledonia
Niue
Nauru
New Zealand
Palau
Papua New Guinea
Samoa
Solomon Islands
Tonga
Tuvalu

So Hubbard can deprive a woman from one of those countries from competing at the Olympics.

ageingrunner · 22/03/2017 16:18

And they say male entitlement isn't a thing

Bambambini · 22/03/2017 16:31

Again - how can Hubbard stand there smiling and waving - fucking unbelievable. I remember watching The Handmaid's Tale years ago and it made me feel angry, powerless and frustrated. It's like some nightmare you are forced to watch but which just doesn't make sense and no one is stepping forward and saying enough now, this is out of order. I just can't get my head round this - like male rapists being sent to a women's prison. is there no one we can flag this up to. A journalist or programme like the Wright stuff - would tie in with the recent Jeska case.

OP posts:
Boulshired · 22/03/2017 16:48

Definitely not the wright stuff.

Italiangreyhound · 22/03/2017 16:49

When he won every single person should have walked out, those poor women standing next to him as he smiles and waves. The journalist covering the story the officials. I just wish one of them had said this is Bullshit, I quit, pick your own trophy up.

cantthinkofausernamerightnow · 22/03/2017 21:55

he's a big fat cheater.
yep

Usui101 · 23/03/2017 22:21

This youtube vid about this just about sums it up:

NotYoda · 24/03/2017 05:46

Usui

Indeed

MisDescamisados · 27/03/2017 19:42

People can claim to not care less about sport or whatever, but what they're saying - in reality and if they blinkin thought about it - is this , that if a male born , say , boxing competitor comes up against a female opponent , they wouldn't care that that could possibly result in a fatality.
Put that way , I think actually people do care . I would hope .

Bambambini · 08/04/2017 00:42

And another male competes and wins against the girls. But it's not the winning that matters, as long as everyone gets a chance to compete.

What will happen when this athlete is selected for further competitions and competes at higher levels? At what point do the rules about testosterone levels start to apply?

I find this genuinely disturbing that the world is now a place where a boy just has to say they're a girl, and everyone is forced to acknowledge this as the truth. They can then go ahead and access any and all things that were once intended for natal girls and women.

numberseven · 08/04/2017 07:44

This young man (with a mustache!) has not been on estrogen, nor puberty blockers. He is a muscular young male athlete. No wonder he wins over same age girls. Wow.

HiDBandSIL · 08/04/2017 08:04

YANBU. I keep wondering how all of this will play out when people see sense about it. So far my thought is that women's sports will separate into "XX" games for women who are genetically women leaving the trans folk to compete against themselves in the... err... women's category. Batshit obviously. What about all the records being set?

BigDeskBob · 08/04/2017 08:18

To be honest, I think this is the future. It looks like they are trying to reduce drug use in sport, which if course is good, but world records are going to be harder to come by. This way world records can be smashed in women sport. And no one is lying, no one is a drugs cheat. And remember any man can say they are trans, because that's all it takes, a man to declare himself as a women.
