For all those who think trans politics doesn't affect you or your daughters - please read this article of a male forcing women out of their sport and the authorities are letting this happen. If you don't give a shiney shit about this incident - what exactly will it take for you to sit up and take notice and start saying enough.

This is a picture of laurel Hubbard with the women they beat. Laurel is 4th from the left, as if we needed telling. This is what we're talking about when we're talking about tw competing against women. Not a sweet, weak, effeminate little tw who just wants to be one of the girls and is getting bullied by mean women, but a big, tall, strong male born person dominating a women's event, just because they can Angry

Sport prevents depression, sport creates a healthier uk and less strain on our NHS, sport bridges social and cultural divides, sport gives youth an outlet, sport improves child's educational success, sport contributes over 20 billion gbp to economy. Sport matters at any level for the UK and role models at elite level are required.

In case no one has posted it yet, 8 men on the Iranian women's football team.

Nellooo · 21/03/2017 11:14

Yes ageingrunner, indeed.

Here's the wiki page listing the weightlifting world records. There's a difference of 100+ kg between the record-winning weight of some men's and women's categories. Even in comparable weight categories there are huge differences in what men's and women's bodies can achieve in this sport.

Don't the other women (those who coincidentally have tied their hair back to compete in sport!) look really happy for Hubbard...

Ha beyond

They are all just standing there saying "FFS..."

HumphreyCobblers · 21/03/2017 11:36

It is an appalling legitimisation of cheating.

FloraFox · 21/03/2017 12:33

Look at the women's stance compared with Hubbard's mincing, pigeon-toed stance.

Bambambini · 21/03/2017 12:36

I honestly don't understsnd how Hubbard can stand their proudly smiling and waving. What kind of personality fisorder or serious delusion allows that? Same with Ludwig - 50 plus forces vet playing college basketball with teenagers.

Bambambini possibly because there may be some connection (or cross morbidity) with some personality disorders. Narcicissm comes to mind. Hence the reaction against the 'pussy hats' and 'uterus tshirts' on the recent anti Trump womens marches. They couldn't understand how suddenly it wasn't all about them and why their feelings were being ignored.
Just to be perfectly clear not all trans. I'm sure it is only a minority, and not directed against any transpersons or friends/loved ones who post on here.

HeyRoly · 21/03/2017 12:53

There probably is an element of personality disorder. Or maybe just a sense of sheer validation at being allowed into a female arena where no one's allowed to object Hmm

noeffingidea · 21/03/2017 12:58

Agree with you, HeyRoly.
I kind of expected this after coming across the sheer angst which surrounds the Race for Life every year. How dare women have an event which excludes men. What really gets to these people is the fact that the race for life is succesful and attracts major sponsorship and media time, due to the hard work and vision of the organisers, no doubt.

noeffingidea · 21/03/2017 13:11

Carole just read your link, thanks. Was interested to see that the Telegraph didn't have any problem referring to them as men, rather than pretending they are women because they identify as such.

Boulshired · 21/03/2017 14:08

This is part of what I do not understand, part of me being a woman is not pink/ dresses/ dolls it is that through puberty the realisation that in terms of physicality I was a member of the weaker sex, so for a person born male who knows she was always female why would she then use that same physicality against the women in a competition that is all about strength. Where is the empathy that using the benefit of male form against women is as far away from what a woman is but is more of the status quo of male strength keeping women in their place.

grannytomine · 21/03/2017 14:26

Morningrunner, can't do a yes no but if its within the rules of the sport then yes.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/03/2017 14:44

Rules which seem to generally be created by predominantly male boards.

Bambambini · 21/03/2017 14:48

Nope, i'm sure there was loads of women on the IOC committee and loads of women consulted.

Datun · 21/03/2017 15:01

A family member was on the International Olympic Committee. She had never heard of it.

Datun · 21/03/2017 15:03

Morningrunner, can't do a yes no but if its within the rules of the sport then yes.

Again, not really answering the question. We all know it's within the rules otherwise we wouldn't be posting on here.

The rules are unacceptable, precisely because they make a mockery out of competition. They also make a mockery of science. There is no such thing as a female brain in a male body.

HumphreyCobblers · 21/03/2017 15:03

I seem to remember there was a trans woman on the committee dealing with the rule change. I can't evidence that though, although it sounds more than likely

I think that was Dr Joanna harper? A 50 something year old trans woman who regularly beats other women in running events and freely admits that wouldn't happen if they were competing against males

Pawpainting · 21/03/2017 15:13

here is the gender trender page discussing the IOC ruling and which mentions this Joanna harper

CaroleService · 21/03/2017 15:18

noeffing - I have some sympathy for them. In Iran , it is apparently a choice of have your head cut off if you're a gay man, versus have your penis cut off if you're transgender. I know which I'd choose.

The captain is a natal woman. She could not attend a recent match in Malaysia because her husband forbade her to travel. Putting aside the sheer fury that such a thing is allowed to happen, it occurs to me to wonder whether the prospect of her travelling, changing, and staying in hotels with eight still penised men affected his decision

So another area in which the inclusion of transwomen in women's sport could disadvantage natal women, already over-burdened with disadvantage by their culture.

But speculation, I admit.

HumphreyCobblers · 21/03/2017 15:22

thanks Pawpainting
