To be fucking furious this is happening to women's sports

For all those who think trans politics doesn't affect you or your daughters - please read this article of a male forcing women out of their sport and the authorities are letting this happen. If you don't give a shiney shit about this incident - what exactly will it take for you to sit up and take notice and start saying enough.

@tumbletrans Wine So well put.

Zafodbeeblbrox10 · 19/03/2017 23:33

IMO all are missing the point. That there is an insidious agenda at work to break down the concepts of normalcy in society. Taken as a whole it can only be perceived as such. I have no problem with anyone who wishes to live their life as they see fit, as long as it harms no one (directly or indirectly), but making everyone else uncomfortable just doesn't compute.

Tumble yy - someones right to swing their arms around ends precisely at my face!!

Isn't it funny how the usual posters who accuse us all of being bigots and transphobic all seem to flounce whenever Tumble makes an appearance?

TheWorldAccordingToToads · 19/03/2017 23:40

At least until the next thread...

DickToPhone · 19/03/2017 23:44

This 60-year-old man is one of TWO MTTs on a top-level Australian women's cricket team. (And, no, it's not a OAP team, just the normal women's team).

Boulshired · 20/03/2017 07:38

Unfortunately I do think this wil need to be played out on the world stage, probably within three olympics. I cannot understand the testosterone element, if testosterone was the only factor for levelling a playing field then where are the trans men. when a trans man lines up against usain bolt then I will believe hormone cocktails is all that is needed for this level playing field to exist.

BakeOffBiscuits · 20/03/2017 08:02

I agree Bouls. I actually want a Trans woman to start playing top tennis. 1 on 1, game after game and the whole world can watch see the top women being thrashed by an older, not as fit trans person.Angry

robinia · 20/03/2017 08:11

As someone who regularly competes at an intermediate level, I would be unimpressed (to say the least) if trans women were competing against me. Because men have a different physionomy they play the game in a different way. Add to that superior speed, strength and propulsion - there would not be much point competing any more - may just as well make it a social activity.

Mrsmorton · 20/03/2017 08:26

Still waiting for @missswitch to show the transphobia. Thanks.

What an excellent post. Ive bookmarked it and tried to memorize it. Will come in very useful when discussing sports, I'm not exactly knowledgeable in this area.
I've just fact checked this and it is correct. Jenner' points from all three of his Decathlon contests in the 70s would beat the most recent top women's score, although I find him at 22, 23, and 24 on the table on Wikipedia and ranked 18 on Decathlon2000.com.

"And I'll make the point again (for anyone who doesn't know) that Jenner - competing in a sport that women cannot even do in the olympics - despite being ranked #14 in the men's decathlon world record, would still hold the women's world record with their score from the 1970s."

BakeOffBiscuits · 20/03/2017 08:40

The amount of doping in amateur sorts is headline news today. About how unfair it is.

How ironic Hmm Angry

HumphreyCobblers · 20/03/2017 08:45

I think we need to collate all the examples of where this is happening now in women's sport. That Australian example is shocking.

If we got them all together from all sources it would be impossible for people to claim that this is not happening or it is happening in such small numbers it doesn't matter .

BeyondUser24601 · 20/03/2017 08:57

Oh thank you wrapped Blush
I think I got #14 from Olympic men's world records only? Not sure now Grin

BeyondUser24601 · 20/03/2017 09:01

Another scenario re doping. If you're you think it's massively unlikely (which it is), think about why that it...
clue - female biology simply isn't as compatible with most sport as men's. of course there should be female sport (in case anyone misinterprets my point...), but they should not be together.

Anyway...

A ftt person takes part in a male sport. They are amazingly good and win. They are legally able to "dope" as much as they want. There is no testosterone limit for Ftt.
How do you think the men will like that? Being beaten by someone who is able to raise their testosterone as much as they fancy, when men are strictly measured to ensure they don't?

BeyondUser24601 · 20/03/2017 09:22

Question - if a male person identifies as a transman, will they no longer be subject to doping regulations?

ErrolTheDragon · 20/03/2017 09:40

Seems so. E.g. www.vox.com/identities/2017/2/21/14685614/texas-transgender-wrestling

Here the irony is that 'transphobic' rules are 'forcing' a transboy who is taking medically prescribed testosterone to compete as a girl. Note that the rules are not transexclusionary, the kid is allowed to compete.

Females are going to be disadvantaged whichever way the rules go. I don't think there is a solution which retains the right of girls and women to compete in sports against other biologically 'normal' ( in the statistical sense) females but which aren't transexclusionary, or at least, which are too restrictive in terms of enforcing normal testosterone levels to be acceptable to TRAs. (The current IOC rules are way above normal female ranges)

Boulshired · 20/03/2017 09:47

It's percentages in most sports for a trans man alone to benefit from testosterone they would need to be a exceptional athelete before transition to compete with men at a high level. A trans woman would just need to be mediocre before transition to compete with elite women but also to beat them.

floatingfrog · 20/03/2017 09:49

I haven't really been keeping-up with all the trans threads but I have to say I can now see what all the fuss is about. This is surely a joke?! This is probably the most ridiculous thing I have ever seen.

Women athletes need to revolt until this is stopped. They may need to set their own championships if this continues and boycott such events.

A slightly different point but still relevant I feel is when Oscar Pictorious competed and won with 'blades'.

BeyondUser24601 · 20/03/2017 09:57

I'm sure floating is not implying that transgender athletes are all going to become murderers, before anyone claims that logical fallacy!!

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 20/03/2017 10:02

I'm sure floating is not implying that transgender athletes are all going to become murderers, before anyone claims that logical fallacy!!

No, the murderers are Radfems who are literally killing transwomen.

floatingfrog · 20/03/2017 10:05

That's ridiculous bitchingface.

Morphene · 20/03/2017 10:08

"Don't worry. I feel disabled. I'll take part for you..."

See this for me is the true worry about trans. If you 'feel disabled' but aren't, you get psychological support to accept the body you have as yours...you don't get people queuing up to remove the limbs you don't feel belong to you. Somehow the opposite is happening with trans, and it doesn't seem right to me.

There have been several high profile cases recently where an athlete has had their disability band reclassified and has either had to pull out of competition, or displaced someone else out of competition. This is the same issue the TW present to women and, for me, just highlights the ludicrous nature of having any category other than 'everyone' in sport.

VeryBitchyRestingFace · 20/03/2017 10:09

That's ridiculous bitchingface.

That's my deadname.

Someone, somewhere may have literally died reading that.
