And as much as I think Pence is dangerous, I don't think he would have as much nutjob backing as Trump has.

Agree - he would follow the rules of Government.

BarchesterFlowers · 28/01/2017 20:24

I agree about Pence too.

I don't think Trump will last that long. He still hasn't disentangled himself from his businesses. When, not if, he receives his first profits from them as president he will be breaking the law. He will screw up royally, hopefully soon.

I also think that the house will call him in on some of his executive power decisions, hopefully soon. They don't have to back him financially and when they don't the pieces of paper with his signature on will be worthless without the funds to carry them out.

Caprianna · 28/01/2017 20:24

The scariest thing to me is not Trump, but that people voted for him to be their president. He always said he would do this.

amispartacus · 28/01/2017 20:28

Someone like Trump might see the Senate and Congress as just getting in the way of his plans

Don't be too sure. People thought that they could contain Hitler, and they were badly wrong. Right now, I am most angry at Appeaser May's refusal to condemn his action. Even Jeremy Corbyn managed to.

Credit where credit's due. This is the Daily Mail website lead.

You can see the countries where Trump has ties.

Does the DM not agree with him? i refuse to click on link but don't think the comments section will be reassuring.

Chippednailvarnishing · 28/01/2017 20:51

The comment section of the fail seems to be inhabited by mainly American readers. Something I find strange.
Interestingly I had a thread deleted earlier this week for hoping for a swift aviation related end for our orange Leader and most people seemed to think Pence was worse.

Check this out. J Trudeau tweeted it about 30 minutes ago.

Talk about putting Trump to shame.

woman12345 · 28/01/2017 20:52

DM's been a bit nuanced about DT, quite critical pre election. I've had a very successful campaign in local Tesco's covering copies of it with The European Grin
OK, I've looked at the DT comments and they mostly support it. Feed the populace a diet of terror, real and imagined, for long enough and this is what happens.

Caprianna · 28/01/2017 20:54

Justin T also has so much better hair. The best hair. Its great.

bahahahahahaa Yes, he does. The best. It's amazing. Fantastic!

GingerIvy · 28/01/2017 20:56

State Dept confirms Canadians w/ dual citizenship from Iraq, Syria, Sudan, Iran, Somalia, Libya, Yemen are also banned from US entry.

Oh my.

Chippednailvarnishing · 28/01/2017 20:57

If Justin T has any sense he'll be setting up huge incentives for silicone valley and Hollywood to relocate to Canada. and he won't make me physically ill if he holds Theresa's hand

I'm always astounded by the differences between the US and Canada.

merrymouse · 28/01/2017 20:58

I think Pence has some very objectionable views, but he does seem to be rational and vaguely sane.

Remember how everyone kept saying that Trump's supporters took him seriously but not literally, while silly liberals took him literally but not seriously?

Well that whole not taking him literally thing isn't sounding so clever now.

GingerIvy · 28/01/2017 20:59

Nicola Sturgeon just tweeted out Welcome to Scotland too.

Peregrina · 28/01/2017 20:59

I am sure that Silicone Valley would find British Columbia quite attractive.

Pence just hides it better. The man has dead behind his eyes.

Chippednailvarnishing · 28/01/2017 21:02

I think Pence would follow due process rather than just his ego. i still think he's the plastic thingy short of a six pack, mind

GingerIvy · 28/01/2017 21:04

I usually opt for "a hamburger short of a Happy Meal" but yes, the sentiment is the same. Grin

QueenOfThorns · 28/01/2017 21:04

Good for Justin T, and the wonderful Irish guy, and Nicola Sturgeon.

Here's a cheesy photo to cheer everyone up Grin

You know, we need more politicians like him. Grin

Chippednailvarnishing · 28/01/2017 21:06

He's like what trump sees when he looks in the Mirror of Erised.
