Oh my actual fucking hell, just one quote from that raw story articke:

'If a teen is raped by her father she would be forced to carry the child under this law under penalty of jail.'

How can this even be thinkand?!

Roussette · 26/01/2017 16:45

Breaking news....

The entire senior level State Department has resigned to avoid working with Trump?

BigBadgers · 26/01/2017 16:46

And this one:

'Tinderholt explains that the women should be forced to carry the child because he’s “a firm believer that God creates children in his own image, regardless of how that child is brought into the world, it’s created in his image, and how can someone want to destroy that?”'

This man makes me feel physically sick. He is an abomination.

Roussette · 26/01/2017 16:47

Not hearsay as it's just come up on TV. Here's the story

Roussette I saw something about that, but couldn't access it (paywall). Do you have a link to it?

GingerIvy · 26/01/2017 16:48

lol thanks x-post

Roussette · 26/01/2017 16:49

BigBadgers · 26/01/2017 16:53

Good on them! Grin

Roussette · 26/01/2017 16:54

These are people with years and years of experience. They must be desperate. I'd like to think this is catching.

Is the wall to keep people out or to stop people leaving?

Roussette · 26/01/2017 16:55

I don't know, but he has seriously pissed off Mexico and has created utter havoc for the Canadian leader over the pipeline. NAFTA ain't looking too promising.

GingerIvy · 26/01/2017 16:57

And the Mexican President just cancelled his trip.

GingerIvy · 26/01/2017 17:00

The White House phone line is suddenly not working. Bernie Sanders is helpfully helping out people to know who to contact to get their complaints through. Grin

merrymouse · 26/01/2017 17:03

The weird thing about Trump is that he could have played things differently over the last few months and gained popularity.

He could have been magnanimous in victory.

He didn't have to send out his press secretary to lie. He could have said that yes, less people attended the inauguration, but his supporters don't come from Washington, don't have much money and it was January. He could have focused on the efforts that his supporters made - I am sure some of them are telegenic and fairly normal.

Many Americans are anti-abortion, so the change to the law was inevitable - any of the other republican candidates would have done the same. However, He didn't have to distribute a picture of Bannon and all the other men smiling as he signed the document.

He doesn't have to go on about voter fraud - he is president according to the democratic laws of his country.

He seems to be obsessed with ratings and popularity, but utterly incapable of appealing to a wider audience.

GingerIvy · 26/01/2017 17:05

I haven't watched this yet, but his latest speech. europe.newsweek.com/watch-live-donald-trump-philadelphia-gop-republican-retreat-speech-548610?rm=eu

Roussette · 26/01/2017 17:08

Totally agree merry. He seems incapable of being magnanimous, conciliatory, grateful to have won etc. He is divisive, combative and nasty.

I don't get the Wall. The number of mexicans crossing into the US illegally is at a 50 year low. The figure is higher for them leaving the US and going back to Mexico.

amispartacus · 26/01/2017 17:08

What's REALLY scary is how much his prominent UK supporters are lapping it up. No pause for thought, no 'hang on a second'.

Torture..no problem
Build a wall..no problem
List of crimes committed by illegal immigrants...no problem

What's next..

woman12345 · 26/01/2017 17:09

I'd like to think this is catching wish integrity would catch on in our gov, TM is going to look a bit of a twit making a pilgrimage to torture and tiny hand towers.
If he was an animal, he would be put down.
Oh wait......................

woman12345 · 26/01/2017 17:10

What's REALLY scary is how much his prominent UK supporters are lapping it up
exactly. But these resignations will be fake news to them.

ZebraOwl · 26/01/2017 17:14

Jesus Mary & Joseph the whole State Department? (Thanks for the links Rousette) I did not giggle about "Foggy Bottom" at all no. Because that would be v childish & this is Terribly Serious.

Does his gagging of parks service etc not constitute removal of 1st Amendment rights? I'm genuinely confused as to how that one can be possible. Yes they're government agencies, but they're not talking about classified data or their opinions on random shite. Ugh. So much ugh.

Hope the narcissistic nepotist is footing the bill for the security costs related to his idiotic insistence on splitting his time between NY & DC.

ZebraOwl · 26/01/2017 17:18

Oh & GingerIvy - people have been ringing Trump's various hotels due to the line not only being down but the website telling you to use non-existent FB messenger to contact them. Apparently to the point that the hotels are telling people that They Have Their Number & simply slamming the phone down. So not as in "we'll call you back", more "and now you're on the list". So quite what any actual customers ringing them are meant to do...
