To not really understand why some people are so upset by transwomen using public toilets?

I'm sorry if this offends, but I really don't understand why this is such a contentious topic. I know transwomen and they just want to pop into a cubicle, do their business and leave. I understand that there is a fear of being attacked, but I honestly think if someone is of a mind to do that they'll do it whether dressed as a woman or not.

I don't believe she's an "elderly woman". I don't believe you can change your sex. Uncomfortable for you, but the vast majority of people would agree.

The thing is, if she looks like a woman, she won't have any problems using the ladies. If she doesn't, then she might. That's just reality and biology. You can't blame anyone.

Datun, just people who are happy to use ID.

In the same way at that I can't buy a cheese grater, or go to a bar, or watch a certain movie without age related ID.

As long as there are toilets available without ID. Otherwise it would be ridiculous.

But it will never happen.

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:03

You want to impose your will on me. You want me and other gender critical feminists to STFU.

Datun · 17/11/2016 02:04

almond of course you can use the women's toilets.

venus I know full well why the option of a third loo doesn't get much traction amongst the trans community, but in terms of a lot of posters up thread, who haven't done their research, I don't know why it wasn't a perfect solution?

almondpudding · 17/11/2016 02:04

No, Churchill, nobody has said that. People keep saying that is not what they are saying.

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:05

Yes, all those posters who have never come across this issue before. How strange they don't consider a third loo as a viable option.

Datun · 17/11/2016 02:07

caryl

What's wrong with three loos?

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:07

What do you think about a third or third and fourth loo, Caryl?

Cross post!

Oh. Were we invaded ? My radar must be on the blink.

I was sorely tempted to post my lovely list of delightfully repugnant posts from transactivists on exactly why they want access.

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:10

No one is seriously demanding forced gender checks. If Margaret passes as a woman, Margaret will be able to use the women's loo as no one will notice. As I said, that's reality.

almondpudding · 17/11/2016 02:11

I thought you said this assault was entirely down to anti trans media hysteria?

Before that you said it was caused by a policy.

Before that you said it was in the policy (and called me a liar when I pointed out it wasn't.

Now you're saying that some people on a UK message board are causing it.

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:11

I think Caryl might like to see that list. Not saying we were invaded btw. But some unconvincing faux ignorance of women's views.

I think people may assume you're against third loos because when people say they only want women in the women's toilets, you interpret that as forcing trans women into the mens, which nobody has said.

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:15

Good for you. I fail to see what your issue is with my views then? I do not have to move aside and let men into the women's loo and other sex segregated spaces just because you personally don't have a problem with it. I happen to think it's rather an important issue.

Datun · 17/11/2016 02:16

Well since three toilets is clearly the best option, I wish you had said it. Might have avoided a lot of hoo-ha.

I also don't understand how someone can both be a gender critical feminist and believe gender exists on a spectrum? What are the different axes or end points on such a spectrum?

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:18

Who said you were a troll?

venusinscorpio · 17/11/2016 02:19

Who is being personally abusive? You called me a misogynistic twit!
