I told him last night that he's back at school today. He has woken with a super bad fake cough, has complained about belly ache, his toe also hurts him.

How ill should I let him get before I let him know I was messing with him and he has weeks yet?

That's really mean, why did you tell him last night he's going back to school especially if he's got angst about it?

I'm not sure if I'm having a sense of humour failure, but why would you ruin some of his holidays by telling him he's going back to school early? He must be pretty young to believe that as otherwise he would be old enough to know there hadn't been enough weeks. Sorry op, I don't find that funny. Messing with a childs head is not on.

I once told Dd she was going back to school early. She had to get up early the next day. The truth was we were getting up early to go to the US. We told her when woke up. I don't feel guilt for doing it. She thought is was the best surprise ever.

I wouldn't do it randomly for no reason though.

We lie and joke with each other all the time. Funnily enough he can take it. He will just plan on getting me back.

Then again I lie about Santa, tooth fairy and Easter bunny im sure that he will have major trust issues anyway. That one time mum pretended he had school won't even be remembered.
